Last time I came here was before COVID. Unfortunately, it's been a disappointment. Used to take the lunch combo. Took the Cantonese chow mein & pork soup noodles.
Cantonese chow mein : they used oyster sauce to make the sauce… big no already. Too salty but not even flavour. Dish was really small for a Chinese dish. There was no'Wok fire' taste at all, felt like cooked at home.
Pork noodles : broth could had a bigger hit of flavour, overall it was ok.
Milk tea was good.
Btw : What happened to all Asian employees ? Even the chef isn't Asian.
@Nathan , you must be sick saying this is Vancouver level food. This is bottom end Montreal level chinese food.
A restaurant giving this kind of quality food in Toronto or in a Asia country would immediately bankrupt lol.
GREAT Chinese restaurant to go to for an afternoon lunch. I had duck chow mein, bok choy & a 3 meat platter of bbq pork, roasted pork & duck. We also got this amazing hot sauce that I wish I had at home.
Service was excellent, staff was super nice with showing us our options & providing us with water while we waited for our take out order. Portion was amazing, we ordered 1/2 & 1 pound of the pork shoulder (top) & pork belly (bottom). i love that the cuts arent too fatty & it's not too salty either. green onion sauce was also amazing
Locally famous, I was eager to finally give it a try, & while not disappointing was a bit uneven. On the plus side: huge portions for the price (I got the'Signature Dish' with BBQ duck & Char Siu or BBQ pork shoulder with Lomein noodles) - enough for a second meal as leftovers. The duck (chopped in sections) was meaty, not fatty or full of useless pieces of membrane & bone like you get in many other places. Tender pork with nice crispy crust too. Good chinese broccoli side dish (included).
The less impressive side: the noodles seemed a bit dry & slightly sticky, not very hot. Worse, the entire plate had a very minimal (but very tasty) sauce, not enough to enjoy with the quantity presented. When I asked the server (who was very helpful initially with recommendations but then disappeared, so I had to go find her in front) for more sauce, she didn't seem to know which it was & instead offered me a small to go container of oyster sauce, which wasn't the matching sauce I wanted. Thus the flavor of the dishes was underwhelming.
Glad I took some home to add some sauce of my own! The interior was basic but pleasant. Given how expensive dining is now, the effort to provide good value was appreciated. I just wish the execution that day (it wasn't busy when I was there) was a bit more careful. Would try again.

Went for lunch today. If you ask for hot sauce (sriracha) they gonna charge you $1/small cup (roughly a table poon). Ridiculous... it's like if Mcdonalds charging you $1 to put ketchup in your hamburger...
BBQ duck was dry. Not as good as usual. & the white guy at cashier forgot to give me the sauce for it. I bought the whole duck at 52$ plus taxes ~59$
This is the second time I've been here & each time is great. I went with a big group of friends & the staff was super kind & accommodating. Every dish we had was delicious. The green onion sauce remains a favorite.
Order the hits cuz they are all bangers. We were 20 for a work party & service & menu was flawless. Great drinks, great vibe, great people. I'm buying jars of scallion sauce as stocking stuffers for my whole family.
First timers in Montreal & amazed at the variety & quality of restaurants. I'm from Richmond, BC, where we have the best Chinese food but this restaurant exceeds most of the wonton places I've been to.
The roast pork is crispy & comes with ginger & onion sauce which makes eating pork belly less indulgent! The Cantonese chow mein is tasty & comes with plenty of ingredients. I asked for xtra crispy noodles & it came perfectly. The cup of steamed rice seemed like a bowl. It was overflowing!
The 2 ladies serving were hustling & bustling. They were attentive, efficient & friendly!
The prices were also very fair. This restaurant is a must try when in Chinatown!!!
It's difficult to justify eating anywhere else if I find myself in the area. Porc (2 ways) on white rice with their scallion sauce is enough to make my day!
We had the chicken & Pork signature menu with rice & bok choy, it was excellent! They even added tasty sauce with our meal. Great sevice. Will come back again.Definitely recommend!

This time around, we actually sat & took the time to dine.
Their noodles is something else & this time it was different.
Located inside a building, not hard to find. I'm usually in for these type of food for the price & quality. This place, the quality was not there. Ordered the roasted pork/BBQ pork combo. Roasted pork had more fat than meat, the skin was chewy. BBQ pork is usually moist but it was on the dry side, sauce should've been added but zero was added. Young Chow Fried Rice was the only decent part of the experience.
The food is always good but barely lukewarm. I received my plate 10 minutes before my two friends which was pretty awkward. But the food is good ( even if a little bit cold), the service is okay.
The scallion sauce was delicious 😋
A Bit Expensive for the Quantity. They've Increased Prices since a Few Years Ago & No Longer have the Sweet Sauce, but it is Better than Average, so I am Giving them 4 Stars. Duck does Not Have the Gamey Taste that Duck Should...
Dobe & Andy came highly recommended as a must-try spot for Chinese BBQ in Montreal, so we were really looking forward to it-especially coming from Toronto, where great & affordable Chinese BBQ options are everywhere.
Unfortunately, it ended up being a big disappointment. When we arrived, it was a bit chaotic & unclear whether we were supposed to line up or just wait to be seated-there wasn't much direction. Once we got seated & looked at the menu, we noticed the prices were quite high compared to what we're used to in Toronto. Still, we were hopeful the food would make up for it.
But when the food arrived, the portions were underwhelming for the price. The large green vegetable dish alone was over $14. The BBQ pork (cha siu) was a major letdown-dry, thickly cut, & lacking flavor. The roast pork was also dry & didn't come with nearly enough sauce. The BBQ duck was decent, but nothing special.
Overall, we left pretty disappointed. Honestly, I could walk into any Chinese BBQ spot in Toronto-even the ones inside grocery stores-& get better BBQ pork than what we had here. It just didn't live up to the hype.
A Hong Kong-style cafe/diner experience! Rice plates with delicious barbecue meats & ginger scallion sauce not to be missed.
Best place ever.
Had the Cantonese chow mein via Uber. Is it normal the sauce was vinegary & had black beans? Not the typical Cantonese chow mein I'm used to & it was borderline too salty. Not for me.
