Step into a Grand Café in a Historic Bank Building!
If you're looking for a coffee shop that's equal parts stunning, social, & studious-Crew Collective & Café is your spot. Housed in a beautifully restored heritage bank building in Old Montreal, this place wows you from the moment you step inside. Soaring ceilings, grand archways, & original architectural details make every visit feel special.
Whether you're catching up with friends, settling in for a productive study session, or just treating yourself, Crew has you covered. The coffee is excellent-rich, smooth, & consistently well-made. & don't even get me started on the almond croissant… flaky, buttery, & filled with just the right amount of marzipan goodness. It's an absolute must-try!
What's even better? They offer reservable study areas & cozy nooks, making it a perfect place to focus or brainstorm. I loved wandering around between sips, taking in the grand setting & buzzing yet calm atmosphere.
A true Montreal gem-tourists shouldn't miss it, & locals are lucky to have it. Can't wait to come back!
Beautiful atmosphere, Very good service, however, coffee was not good plus we were charges $1.09+ tax per person for the addition of a drop of oat milk in each coffee… No pricing displayed on pastries. Paid $7 & $8 for 2 pastries respectively, one which we returned as it was not fresh. The cake crumbled at the touch with a fork... ASK if the pastry is fresh from today… otherwise it felt like whatever didn't sell yesterday was put in front of us. It cost us $32 for 2 coffees, 2 pastries plus tip… If we have to pay these prices, have the decency to serve fresh coffee & pastries. Needless to say, we won't be back nor will we take friends when they visit us in Montreal. If you don't mind paying these prices, for mediocre coffee & stale pastries, think of it as a cover charge to sit in a beautiful historic building. 🤷?♀?
Croissants were great & the building was amazing. Wasn't too busy when we went at about 8:30am on Saturday. Lady who took our order at the till was very friendly & kind. We ordered 2 drinks & chocolatines.
Unfortunately the lady wearing glasses, making & handing out drinks was being quite rude to people for no reason. When she called our name, my wife went up & got the first drink from our order, when she got there the lady rolled her eyes & said she had been calling out our name for ages. It was quite quiet in there so, either she hadn't, or had been calling very softly.
I then went up when I thought I heard her call our name for our second drink, she said it had already been picked up. I said that we picked up one & we're still waiting for the other. She rudely asserted that we had only ordered one drink. I told her we ordered 2 drinks. She again rolled her eyes & huffed before getting out the order sheet only to realise that we had in fact ordered 2 drinks, & it was them that made the mistake. She still made it seem like my fault & in an annoyed (at me) tone, said I should have been given it at the till. No apology given.
Why work in customer service if you can't even be polite to people just trying to enjoy a drink.
Beautiful building & great place to co-work! There are areas at the side (not main cafe space) that are available for the public to work or study.
I enjoyed the morning there & was able to grab coffee/ lunch etc while working.
A little disappointed by Crew Collective & Cafe… the building itself is very cool, but the rest is a pass for me. I had the yogurt with berries & granola, but the granola was very stale, & the yogurt just bland. The Americano was just okay, & it felt like the staff didn't want to be there. The tables are also dirty with spilled & dried coffee on them. The building is a cool vibe if you're working & book a spot, but I wouldn't recommend it for tourists. There are much better cafes in Montreal.
One of the best cafe experiences at Crew collective.
Formerly, a Royal Bank of Canada headquarters, built between 1926-1928 which has been now repurposed into a breathtaking cafe & co-working space.
This cafe is a must visit if you like to dine & enjoy some great architecture at the same time, something rare for sure & that's been the highlight of my time in Montreal!!
I would highly recommend even if it's just to admire the architecture of this historical building.
Beautil cafe inside a historic building! Fast service, plenty of space but hets very busy.
This is located in a historic Bank of Canada building & is certainly the most beautiful cafe I have ever been to. They have a wide variety of beverages & food available. My favorite thing was that they have private rooms that you can pay to book for work, study, or holding a meeting. They also have clean washrooms.
5 stars all around! Probably the best coffee shop I have ever been to.
The food was amazing - I don't even like coffee, but I tried my husband's cortado & would have happily ordered one myself - the coffee was that good. We also tried lining up for Fairmount bagels but it was too long of a wait & were sad to miss it, but we were pleasantly surprised to see that Crew serves Fairmount bagels that are delivered fresh daily. Montreal bagels really are fantastic.
Service was great too. The line can get long but moves very quickly. Unfortunately I didn't get the name of the barista who took our order but she was working on the morning of August 4/25 & one of the only workers wearing a mask. She was so nice & offered a cup of ice water to go to ensure I stayed hydrated with the heat/poor air quality outside. Thank you/I appreciate your care!
The atmosphere at this coffee shop is also on another level - you can just feel & see the history of the building that used to be an RBC branch. It's a gorgeous building inside. There are also lots of areas to sit & relax or work, even closed meeting rooms.
100% would recommend; I'll definitely be back whenever I'm in Montreal.
OMG! Read great reviews of this place, so had to try it for myself! It did NOT disappoint! What an AMAZING experience! The baristas are outstanding!!! Friendly, helpful, & just all-around great! Shout out to AWESOME MIA!!! Her recommendations were spot on! Coffee is delicious & a work of art! The almond croissant is to die for ... in fact, we returned the following day just to pick up a few for our travels!
The building is breathtaking! Worth the wait in line, but know it moves quickly! Such a coooool, unique place to frequent that will leave you feeling warm & fuzzy, lol!
Merci, Mia! :-)
Its like having tea in a castle or museum . An historical building which was a bank now they serve amazing coffee. Its often full of people including all the tour groups coming out of cruise ships
Absolutely gorgeous cafe! Every single travel / food blog recommended I check out Crew Collective & Cafe for some of the best coffee & unique cafes in Montreal, so I knew I had to give this lovely spot a try. They absolutely deserve all the popularity, both for their gorgeous building & phenomenal coffee. The cafe is hosted in the historic Royal Bank tower & features beautiful marble floors & murals across the ceiling. It feels remarkably grand, especially for a cafe or coworking space. There are plenty of tables scattered across the main floor, but there are also small conference rooms you can set up shop in (they look a bit like old bank teller offices).
The coffee itself was fantastic. The latte was a bit milkier than I'm used to, but it was quite creamy & smooth. The beans were just the slightest bit nutty, & it was all-around a delightful cafe.
Coffee was really good. Food was good also. Line moved very quickly but seating is limited. Lots & lots of tourists. Building is beautiful but the area of the coffee shop is relatively small.
What a stunning historic building, excellent coffee & pastries, & overall ambiance amazing to visit & see all the architect
Beautiful heritage building. Cafe in the coolest setting. Very busy but nice concept.
Gorgeous. Old bank building turned into a café & co-working space. Rent a room for your next meeting or have a Montreal style bagel with smoked salmon & some pastries. The almond croissant was delicious & not overly sweet. The staff were friendly & helpful.
Cool cafe beautiful building & architecture. Concept unique however to try & access this place with a stroller was nearly impossible, & if you are in a wheelchair forget even trying to go here
Beautiful space but quite crowded. I also found it really stuffy & warm inside :( that said the coffee was good & it is truly in a gorgeous building
