Mauvaise expérience de mon côté. Manque de consistance en cuisine & de soucis du détail. Les 4 plats partagés en entrée étaient bien, savoureux. Je me serais seulement attendu à avoir une burrata complète.
Pour les plats principaux, ma volaille n'était visiblement pas assez cuite. J'ai commandé le tartare à la place, qui avait très peu de saveurs. Le risotto avait un gout presque de macaroni au fromage (& était orange). Nous avons commandé deux assiettes de brochettes d'agneau, dont une est arrivée froide & sans menthe..?
Erreurs sur notre facture également à la fin. Nous avons été déçus de notre expérience.

Asked the waiter for gluten free options, she clarified if it was an intolerance or celiac, I said celiac. She came back 10 minutes later with a piece of paper with all the GF options written !! Whenever they brought the food they specified which dishes were GF & which weren't. Great experience ! Amazing foodVoir plus

Cuisine délicieuse, & service parfait. Mes compliments au chef qui a su nous surprendre avec le délicieux amuse-buche à l'huître & poisson, mais aussi les aubergines relevées à l'harissa & enfin ce tartare de boeuf très umami avec des champignons qui semblaient marinés. Tout était excellent ! Le service aussi était super, avec des personnes très souriantes. Le vin & le coktail aussi était très bon. Je recommande fortement ce restaurant.Voir plus

Extraordinaire! Plats à partager. Si vs aimez les légumes, vs êtes servis. La cuisine est excellente!
Attention, une table au centre vis à vis la porte est offerte & l'emplacement n'est pas très agréable.

Exceptional Tapas & Wine Pairings at Cadet - A Must in Montreal
Located on Saint-Laurent Boulevard in the heart of Montreal's Quartier des Spectacles, Cadet is a vibrant & stylish restaurant that has earned its place among the Michelin-recommended gems of the city. The atmosphere strikes a perfect balance between casual & chic, making it ideal for a night out with friends or a pre-show dinner.
The menu features a variety of refined tapas-style plates designed for sharing. The standout for us was the black cod (morue charbonnière)-incredibly tender, beautifully caramelized, & full of delicate flavor. Each dish we tried was thoughtfully presented, with excellent attention to balance & texture.
One of the highlights of the experience was the wine pairing. The selections were expertly matched to each course, enhancing the flavors without overpowering them. It's clear that great care goes into curating both the food & beverage offerings.
For dessert, the chocolate, caramel, & banana tart was simply unforgettable-rich & indulgent without being too heavy.
The service was warm, knowledgeable, & genuinely welcoming. The staff made us feel right at home while guiding us through the menu.
In short, Cadet delivers a polished & memorable dining experience. Highly recommended for food lovers visiting Montreal.Voir plus

The atmosphere was minimalist & was bland. Also the waitress didn't seem interested or knowledgeable about the food or the wine. Thankfully the food was so outstanding that we'd go back & recommend Cadet to others.Voir plus

The food was OK. Not a fan of french cuisine so no suprise i wasnt a fan of this place. Invited my parents for their anniversary & they do like french food & they also found it just OK. Service was very good, quick, efficient & helpful. If you like french food, judging by the reviews, you'll be happy here, if you don't, then you probably wont.Voir plus

First time in Montreal, found this little spot from some reddit reviews. My boyfriend & I were pleasantly surprised. Cute spots great food, & the servers were very nice & made sure that we knew what we were ordering (since things are in French), & made sure we felt welcomed. Beautiful spot. We had read that the tables are a bit cramped so we chose to sit at the bar & it was the perfect choice. Lots of elbow room & fun to be up with the action.
We shared the hamachi, beef tartare, black cod & oyster mushrooms, as well as the chocolate tart. All but the hamachi were excellent - particularly the black cod & mushrooms. The hamachi was good, just not at the same level as the other dishes. Perhaps lacking a bit of zing for my taste.
The service was wonderful - attentive, helpful but not too much. The atmosphere is casual & elegant. You'd be as comfortable wearing jeans & a nice shirt as in business casual.
I've read others' negative comments about the size of dishes & have to disagree. We eat at sharing style restaurants quite often & found this to be very much in line -if not a bit more generous than many. Particularly with this level of culinary skill. Teh recommendation was for 4- 5 dishes between 2, & we were very content with just 4. We could have skipped dessert & been content but gave into the temptation & were glad we did!Voir plus

Tapas style restaurant, nice place to share food.
We order focaccia bread, cod croquette & 3 different salad as there's not many vegetarian options.
The focaccia bread is home made accompanied by a mild spicy sauce, which we find a nice touch to reduce the burnt-ish flavor off some parts of the bread.
We continued with the beet salad, & it is excellently delicious - very well executed. The dressing sauce definitely makes this dish a die-for for us!
Then comes the oyster mushroom salad. We found it less impressive than the beet salad, but the taste is quite nice with fresh touch of sliced pears harmonizing flavors.
The eggplant plate is, however, quite disappointing despite its beautiful presentation. We found it overly salty & the flavor pair seems a bit odd - spicy jalapeno + tangy pomegranate - that doesn't go well for us.
Last but not least, the cod croquette put a nice ending to our meal - it is flavorful & crispy when being dipped into yummy mayonnaise sauce.
The waiters were kind but it seems that we received less attention than other tables around us because we didn't order anything to drink. When we finished our meal, no one came to check on us to ask for desserts or coffee. & we had to wave our hands to get someone's attention for the bill.
Overall, our experience was pleasant & we enjoyed the ambiance.Voir plus
