Bouillon Albert was born out of a passion for convivial cuisine and a desire to recreate the warm atmosphere of Parisian bouillons. We draw inspiration from the simplicity and authenticity of French dining, while adding a modern, local touch, reflecting the diversity of the Plateau Mont-Royal.

Superbe adresse.
The food was mediocre at best. Service was terrible. Never been embarrassed by a member of the serving crew before.
One of my favourite discoveries on my annual August Montreal trip. It was so good that it was the only restaurant I tried to go three times in a month but alas they were closed on Labour Day for a much deserved rest. I guess I'll have to keep dreaming about the escargot & skate wing & rice pudding until my next visit!
We were there to celebrate a birthday. Our server was great! The food was so delicious. I loved the roasted bone marrow, escargot, leeks with hazelnut vinaigrette, & steak frites. My family enjoyed the ravioli, duck confit, trout. The desserts were excellent too. The rice pudding tasted phenomenal. The profiteroles & mille feuille were so yummy too. The ambience was so nice. I would love to come here again.
Delicious food, attentive service, nice atmosphere. Every meal on the menu we tried was delicious.
Food was excellent - thoughtful, flavourful, very well done. The only surprise was the by-the-glass wine choices. When I asked the server for something fresh & crisp, I was offered a Viognier, then a Viognier/Chardonnay blend. Given the strength of the full list, it felt like an odd & very pedestrian direction compared to what I'd expect in Montreal where leaner, more mineral-driven whites are common. It also left me wondering if assumptions were being made about my preferences.
Bouillon Albert is a small wood & amber-clad space with intimate seating that offers a variety of small & larger plates of French bistro flavors done well & at affordable prices.
The Russian-style egg was simple yet well executed. The roasted bone marrow was rich, indulgent, & a great value for the price. The skate wing was moist & flaky, & paired with a zingy & aromatic brown butter sauce with lemon & capers.
The highlight of the meal was the dessert of rice pudding, creamy & deeply decadent with candied pecans that added a wonderful textural contrast. Every mouthful left me wanting more.
Overall, I was satisfied with my experience at Bouillon Albert & I am interested to come back to try what else they have to offer.
This new French restaurant offers a charming ambiance with dim lighting & an intimate atmosphere even with the hustle & bustle. The service was friendly, prompt, & attentive. The food exceeded my expectations, especially given the more affordable price point. The duck was my favourite dish, cooked to perfection & tenderly coming off the bone. The ravioli came close, with its perfect texture & flavour. The entrees were also delicious & so was the wine. The meal ended on a great note with the pecan rice pudding dessert, which was so rich & addictive. I would however skip on steak frites, which I thought were just ok. Otherwise, totally recommend giving this spot a try!
