In summer, the Bivouac Terrace offers a breathtaking view of the city and is perfectly located to enjoy the lively Place des Festivals. In winter, the Refuges du Bivouac offer to set up a camp for an evening under a beautifully decorated and heated dome that can accommodate up to 10 people, in the heart of the entertainment district.

J ai pris le plat Atlantique avec une tentacule de pieuvre ,que je vous recommande , un goût qui vient direct de la méditerranée, après c est vrai que j aurai aimé plus en terme de quantité, vu que j ai du la partager avec ma conjointe qui n a pas trop aimé son plat du saumon,
My friend & I had an incredibly disappointing experience Friday night, so much so that I have to believe it was purposeful due to the fact we're American or because we did not order alcohol. After our order was taken we didn't get a refill of water until after our app was delivered even though the cups were empty when it arrived. Our waitress passed us several times as did the manager in a suit, empty cups & not a second look in our direction. Once she cleared the appetizer plates we got a refill & she said our entrees would be up shortly.
In the restaurant the kitchen is in full view & our table had a prime viewing spot. We were sitting inside instead of on the terrace as we had walked through the city all day so our part of the restaurant was completely empty. That is why we were able to see our entrees put into the window by the chef who even took a photo of one of our dishes on his phone. Our plates then sat for well over 10 minutes as bussers, other servers, & the suited manager passed our food in the window. My friend & I just sat watching our food get dry & overly hot. The plates were so hot the she had to bring them with folded napkins, not a word of warning that they were dangerously hot. We ate what was still moist (they at least have good heat lamps I'll say that) & then sat with our silver on the table & napkins on our pate. The waitress passes us again & again (water cups empty while eating) & then strikes up a loud laughing conversation in front of us with the manager. Backs turned to as we still sit with napkins on plates food mostly un eaten & not a word from her the manager as to why. We had hoped to get dessert but it was so disheartening at this point we didn't feel welcome so we just left. We had hoped to have a nice dinner in a beautiful restaurant but left severely dejected :/
If you're an American coming to MTL to support our neighbor's economy please eat elsewhere! MTL is a food haven & there are so many other places to go.
The restaurant itself is beautiful, with a pleasant atmosphere that feels high end & inviting. Unfortunately, the food didn't live up to the setting. There was only one vegan option on the menu, which I ordered, & it was a major disappointment. It was soggy, wet, mushy, & overall unappetizing. The fries, on the other hand, were excellent. Honestly, I should have just stuck with the fries & a bottle of bubbles.
For a restaurant of this caliber, I expected much better. It would be great to see a few more thoughtfully prepared vegan options that are actually enjoyable & worthy of the otherwise lovely ambiance.
Another concern was the lack of attention to detail in service. It was obvious that I didn't eat my dish. It was barely touched yet no one asked if something was wrong or if I was dissatisfied with the meal. That lack of care or curiosity about why a guest didn't eat their food was disappointing, & ultimately, that's the main reason I wouldn't return.
On a positive note, the gentleman who assisted us, dressed in a suit & appearing to be a manager, was extremely kind, attentive, & professional, which I greatly appreciated. When my friend & I were trying to figure out if it was possible to get a view of a concert outside, he was genuinely inquisitive & eager to help us.
I hope the kitchen & service team can improve on these points to match the quality of the ambiance.
It's a bad hotel restaurant with some views if seated right. It was there last summer, & I arrived in a very good mood, ready to eat my heart out & spend some money. But, the room was so cold & very loud. I ordered a 1st dish, veal parmigiana. Everything was wrong, from the tomato sauce-you just don't throw a bunch of tomatoes in a pan & boil... It lacked spices & finesse; it was adapted to the American clientele that frequents that hotel. Then I did not want to eat that, so I ordered a second dish the the maitre d'hotel came & yelled at me. I was to pissed off to even taste it so I asked for both meals to go. They could not provide a bag to bring it. So I paid & left & will never go again. Will never recommend. Mind you, it's not a Michelin star, not even on the list of the best 29th restaurants in Montréal. Just saying.
Menu très bien balancé, avec des plats très intéressants & excellents.
Belle carte des vins, mais pour les vins rouges, trop de choix avec les mêmes cépages, aucun Pinot Noir à part deux Grand Crus bourguignons, Gamay.
The food is original & put forth product of Quebec or near by. The presentation is original & unique. The rabbit was a bit bland but my porc was outstanding.
Personnel très agréable & serviable. Repas absolument délicieux. J'y retournerai ! Petite mention pour les hôtesses qui nous ont félicité pour notre événement :))
Cuisine recherchée & raffinée, service attentionné, discret & professionnel.
Je recommande en touts points; définitivement un incontrounable de Montréal!

L'ambiance reste néanmoins très agréable & la nourriture est délicieuse.
Le service est impeccable & le personnel très prévenant & chaleureux.
J'ai mangé au Bivouac hier soir juste avant d'aller voir le spectacle de Fred Fortin au Club Soda. La nourriture y est excellente. J'ai pris un filet de boeuf & il était cuit selon mes spécifications, & c'est très rare que cela arrive dans un restaurant. Même commentaires pour ma conjointe qui a pris le même plat que moi. Son plat était cuit à la perfection. De plus, le service était excellent. Tous les serveurs qui se sont pointé le nez à notre table étaient courtois & on pouvait parler avec eux comme s'il s'agissait de nos amis, tout cela, sans être envahissants. Le vin que nous avons bu était parfait & servi à la bonne température. C'est un restaurant un peu dispendieux, mais, on n'a rien pour rien!
Absolutely fantastic dinner. Staff is amazing & food was also amazing. The oysters were fresh, the appetizers & main dishes were very good (kudos to the octopus), the dessert was delightful. Wine was very good. They brought us fresh bread during our meal which was great & rare these days. The decor is also gorgeous.
This is a hidden gem in Montreal that a lot of people don't know about unless they are staying at this hotel.
J'y suis allée avec mes parents. La pieuvre était délicieuse ! Le service était attentif, l'équipe agréable, & l'ambiance très réussie pour l'ouverture de la terrasse. Belle vue sur la Place des Arts, en plein coeur de la ville. L'ambiance tamisée du restaurant intérieur était parfaite pour quelques photos souvenir. :)
