In winter, the Refuges du Bivouac offer to set up a camp for an evening under a beautifully decorated and heated dome that can accommodate up to 10 people, in the heart of the entertainment district.

My husband & I had dinner at Bivouac before attending a concert across the plaza at Sallie Willie's Pelletier. The ambiance was lovely with modern furnishings & warm lighting. The service was excellent & very attentive. Cocktails were also excellent. But the food was far from it. We ordered the Bivouac salad to share, which was described as grilled baby gem lettuce with pickled red onion, crispy fried shallots or onions, & pistachio stracciatella. I assumed the salad would have a vinaigrette to balance the creamy but mild tasting cheese. The lettuce arrived swimming in so much white stracciatella that the lettuce wasn't visible. It was extremely unappetizing to look at & unpleasant to eat. Had the grilled lettuces been lightly topped with a fraction of the cheese & drizzled with a good balsamic, it would have been a nice dish. As it was it was bland & a visual mess. I ordered the salmon which was described as seared but it arrived pale & flabby & the whole dish was screaming for seasoning & acid. Two good ideas very poorly executed. & at $190 with tip for two, not worth the cost.

Quelle magnifique soirée nous avons passée ici. Tout était absolument parfait, du service à la qualité irréprochable des assiettes servies.

La présentation est vraiment soignée. J'ai particulièrement apprécié les pétoncles servis dans leur petite poêle métallique, c'était un détail aussi élégant que délicieux. Chaque bouchée était une vraie découverte.

L'ambiance est chaleureuse & idéale pour profiter d'un bon repas en toute tranquillité. Nous avons déjà hâte de revenir pour goûter au reste de la carte. Une adresse montréalaise à découvrir sans hésiter.

Nous avons pas mangé, simplement terminé notre soirée à cet endroit à deux reprises.
Excellent cocktail avec la recommandation de la serveuse, la terrasse est très agréable & le service était au delà de nos attentes. Merci!

Comme à chacune de mes visites, la soirée est réussie! Excellente carte renouvelée régulièrement, exécution parfaite des plats & service exceptionnel de Claude qui est visiblement passionné par son métier & nous fait d'excellentes recommandations qui nous font parfois sortir de notre zone de confort pour plus de découvertes! Un plaisir renouvelé, à bientôt!

Went here before a show at Place des Arts & honestly blown away. The boreal Quebec concept is so well done, the decor is stunning & the food is next level. Foie gras, fresh bread with three butters, great wine list & service that actually makes you feel taken care of. Way better than any hotel restaurant has any right to be.
