Here, the objective is simple: to introduce guests to a whole new world of tastes and sensations. Taking advantage of the best that the Quebec region and its artisans have to offer.
Bivouac is where guests can get away from the chaos of city life to explore, share and enjoy the quintessence of our nature, all during a meal.
Our Specialties

Located in the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel on the 6th floor of Complexe Desjardins.
In summer, the Bivouac Terrace offers a breathtaking view of the city and is perfectly located to enjoy the lively Place des Festivals. In winter, the Refuges du Bivouac offer to set up a camp for an evening under a beautifully decorated and heated dome that can accommodate up to 10 people, in the heart of the entertainment district.
Guests describe Bivouac as a refined and welcoming destination where service is consistently attentive and the cuisine feels inventive and generously portioned. The setting ranges from elegant indoor dining to magical winter bubbles and a terrace that glows under night lights. Dishes are praised for their presentation and quality, with standout seafood and well crafted wine pairings, though some reviewers note room for more variety in the wine by the glass. The staff are commended for professionalism and thoughtful service that makes celebrations and pre show meals feel special, while a few comments mention higher prices and occasional noise. Overall, Bivouac comes across as a standout choice for memorable dinners, gatherings, and special occasions, offering a memorable combination of food, wine, and ambiance.

I had a seat at the bar for Christmas Eve dinner, a set menu of $125. I received no bar service. The bartender did an amazing job of ignoring me. Had intended to order a glass of wine with each course... but I only got his attention when it was time for the bill & he offered to refill my water which had been empty for an hour. Given how salty the dishes were, it was not ideal. Had to hunt down the hostess at the front to get cutlery because my dinner was getting cold & the front of house staff was unavailable. Montreal has the most incredible restaurants & this factory-style restaurant offered zero hospitality service. Avoid this place, anywhere in Montreal is better than this faux luxury. Would have preferred to have had dim sum down the street than waste my Christmas Eve at Bivouac. Unacceptably bad.

Food is bad & too expensive. Soup pumpkin suggestion was really bad. Meat 🥩 was good but really small & the side of my meal was really not good. I was expecting smashed potato's but I was served burn potato 🥔 flakes & bitter vegetable 🥦 really small portion I was expecting more for the price! Service was good
Unfortunately, we cannot comment on the food because it never got to us! We had chosen this restaurant based on a before show service that supposedly is done within one hour! We arrived at the restaurant at 5:30... & received our first course which was a soup at around 6:15 & as we had a show to attend by 7:10 we still did not have any main course so we had to pick up & leave.. the waiters were running around everywhere & were as helpful as possible ... manager was however not the best .... Not sure if a recommendation can be made to a restaurant that cannot handle service! Not a great experience but restaurant is a great setting.. with a pretty nice vibe!
