Downtown Montreal is home to a brand new occupant, and we’re here to have a good time. A social lounge, an artisan bar and a modern bistro, Bivouac provides an urban and boreal gastronomic experience to all who pass through its doors.
Here, the objective is simple: to introduce guests to a whole new world of tastes and sensations. Taking advantage of the best that the Quebec region and its artisans have to offer.
Bivouac is where guests can get away from the chaos of city life to explore, share and enjoy the quintessence of our nature, all during a meal.
Our Specialties
Oyster bar, Cold meats platter, Cheese platter, Salmon gravlax, Deer tataki, Smoked bison carpaccio, French rack of piglet, Duck breast, Seared cod fillet, Homemade desserts, House cocktails & Private import wine.
Located in the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel on the 6th floor of Complexe Desjardins.
In summer, the Bivouac Terrace offers a breathtaking view of the city and is perfectly located to enjoy the lively Place des Festivals. In winter, the Refuges du Bivouac offer to set up a camp for an evening under a beautifully decorated and heated dome that can accommodate up to 10 people, in the heart of the entertainment district.
Guests describe Bivouac as a refined and welcoming destination where service is consistently attentive and the cuisine feels inventive and generously portioned. The setting ranges from elegant indoor dining to magical winter bubbles and a terrace that glows under night lights. Dishes are praised for their presentation and quality, with standout seafood and well crafted wine pairings, though some reviewers note room for more variety in the wine by the glass. The staff are commended for professionalism and thoughtful service that makes celebrations and pre show meals feel special, while a few comments mention higher prices and occasional noise. Overall, Bivouac comes across as a standout choice for memorable dinners, gatherings, and special occasions, offering a memorable combination of food, wine, and ambiance.
Service was excellent. Friendly & courteous staff. Restaurant is nice & well decorated.
Food was mediocre; soup was cold & steak undercooked, fries were recycled & over cooked. Disappointed considering the price.
Visit during Montréal à Table: food was delicious & inspired; service was impeccable; decor is comfortable & warm-looking (but a little draughty). Will return.
Overall a good weekday business lunch experience. A couple of little quibbles. 1) when one of our party asked for some steak sauce the waiter seemed a little offended. 2) a bit long to take our orders. Weekdays are workdays so a little faster would have been good. Other than that, A1 (not the steak sauce). Food was excellent, the decor was very nice, & we had a great time. Will be back!
Repas excellent, belle présentation, super service & personnel hyper gentil.
It was our first time at the restaurant & found the ambiance & decor beautiful. The food was well presented & delicious. Perfect view in front of Place des Arts with a balcony overlooking the festival. Would definitely go back. Loved the menu.
