Delightful! While decidedly'squished', this restaurant is cozy & romantic, giving very Italian Family vibes. The plush red decor & candles create a nested atmosphere, & the service & cuisine were beyond impeccable. I mean, perfection. The owner was most gracious upon welcoming us, when my husband asked to change tables, then change back again lol! Absolutely wonderful in every way. We'll return, & recommend to those who adore fine cuisine. However if you like space & privacy, probably not for you. But if you're ensconced in your own little world with your love, it's a heavenly little womb away from the world.
I had dine in here. The food was super tasty & the service was extraordinary. So I can recommend anyone to have a experience here. You won't regret it.
Fabulous dining experience with wonderful service & excellent food. They were also very accomodating when it came to food allergies, going out of their way to provide strong vegan & gluten free options. I really recommend it!
The place was cozy with good music at the background. The food was good & get what you paid for. Highly recommended to experience a Michelin restaurant in Venice..
We were pleasantly surprised by this place! Definitely fine dining, with unique flavors. We were interested in something slightly different from the hundreds of standard Italian restaurants. We travel heavily, & huge wine people. Their wine list is impressive but a little pricey. We had the BEST wine service I have ever had in any restaurant in the world. The detail our server put in to present, decant, etc the bottle was special. It was truly well done, & we only ordered a $200 bottle. They started with a unique take on a Caprese which was actually really nice. The tuna appetizer is a seasonal special & it was great. I had the risotto which was a good dish - a little fishy & strong in fennel flavor. The "moving fish" was interesting. the amount of seafood was comical - i had one half of one scallop, one small piece of langoustine (I think?), one shrimp, & some of the raw fish. The panna cotta honey dessert was fantastic. They also gave us a little tasting dessert. We would recommend to friends that are adventurous or want something a little different.
I can't say enough good things about Bistrot de Venise. My fiancée & I had gotten engaged mere hours before our reservation & I scheduled the "romance" package for dinner. It came with its own special menu, an exclusive red tablecloth, a rose, two glasses of prosecco, 5 courses, & a special heart pastry, personalized with a congratulatory message. The food was fantastic & is certainly worthy of a Michelin star, especially the scallop risotto. This dish was incredible, & the heat of the food caused some of the thinly sliced ingredients to react & "come to life". It was one of the cooler things I have seen. At many highly rated spots, while the food may be good, the portions are lacking. That was not the case here. We felt full by the end of it & very, very satisfied. The sommellier helped us pair our wine perfectly & the waiter was absolutely wonderful, not snobby, but pleasantly delightful. The ambiance & aesthetic of the place is cozy & artistic & very different from other local establishments. I would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Venice. Seriously, you'll be missing out if you don't. Grazie!
This is definitely a MUST in Venezia. "Bistrot de Venise" is a project (that combines art, people & gastronomy). "Bistrot de Venise" is an atmosphere. "Bistrot de Venise" is a service (I really recommend to be served by DARA... for his passion for food, for his passion for wines, & most importantly for his passion for smiles☺️☀️)
Excellent Michelin rated restaurant with AUTHENTIC Venetian cuisine. THE place to go if you want to try traditional style food from this region. Our hotel recommended them & made us dinner reservations. It was amazing! My husband's risotto was actually MOVING when they presented his dish!! At first I was like, "uhhh babe...WTH is going on with your fooood!?!?! 😳"but then I realized it wasn't actually "alive", (Whew 😅) & our server explained it was just an effect of the heat...A very impressive presentation! Everything was delicious & my kids loved it too. Wine pairing was perfect! This was one of our favorite dinners during our 2 week tour of Italy. The Michelin rating is well deserved.
We choose this restaurant because it was recommended as good for food allergies (my son is allergic to peanuts & tree nuts) & they were great. Super friendly staff, delicious food, really felt like something special, even if it was a little expensive. Definitely a little touristy but almost in a way that enriches the experience instead of detracting from it. Next time I'm in Venice I look forward to going here with my family!
Great dinner! The food was unbelievable, & the staff & sommelier were so helpful. If you are in Venice & want a memorable dinner, I would recommend Bistrot de Venise. You will not be disappointed.
I went with a group of people to eat here when touring around. They treated us with a lot of respect, good hospitality & very good to us. But the chef i wish did a better job. One of the people i was with didn't really like the lasagna she had order. Another of the girl i was with order shrimp scampi & complain about barely having shrimp on it. They didn't have parmesan cheese for their stuff either. I on the other hand had the black spaghetti. I liked mines. Only thing I didn't liked was the crème brûlée. It wasn't all that. I would not recommend that at all. They did give us a free appetizer which is good & free extra dessert of different sweets. (I try adding video of everyone food, didn't let me). The scallop was delicious by the way !
Dining at Bistrot de Venise was an unforgettable experience. The elegant street setup created a romantic atmosphere, & the service was impeccable. The food was the highlight. The prawns in soar were juicy & flavorful, & the ravioli with herbs was delightful. The lasagna was a nostalgic treat, creamy & beefy like my mother's. The duck was exceptional. The tiramisu was the perfect finish. Despite its Michelin star, the prices were reasonable, & the portions were satisfying. We ordered three appetizers, one first course, two mains, & two desserts. Every dish was a winner. Highly recommended for a top-notch dining experience without breaking the bank.
For our wedding anniversary, we chose Bistrot de Venise, nestled in a charming alleyway off the beaten track. The drink & wine selections were delightful, setting high expectations for the evening.Unfortunately, the experience did not live up to its fine dining promise. Despite the elegant presentation, the food took over 45 minutes to arrive & was cold when it finally did. The service was merely adequate, lacking the attentiveness one expects from a high-end establishment. The menu, predominantly seafood-based, offered only two vegetarian options, which felt limiting. At £300 for the meal, the price felt exorbitant given the overall experience. In summary, while Bistrot de Venise has a lovely setting & an impressive drink selection, the food & service fell short, making it difficult to recommend for special occasions.
A divine culinary experience. Bistrot de Venise has a record of multiple years of being Michelin recommended. The atmosphere is traditional - low lighting, warm, soft seating & classical Venetian elements adorning the walls. The service is lovely - the wait staff were attentive, well mannered, & elevated the experience with their tasteful recommendations. The food was beautiful in its presentation & a culinary delight. Each item on the menu has a historical note of mention. The attention to detail was striking, with the visual appeal matched only by its sublime flavour. I would whole heartedly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an elevated dining experience. Bravo!
Another overrated place- what's wth the glowing reviews? We started with a good scallop dish but rather average Prawns in Saor, a traditional dish that was too subtle in flavour annd served with a pile of barely-cooked onion. Our mains were both a bit disappointing. Lamb chops were cooked well but served with raw squash that did nothing for the dish. Liver was served on a bland bed of crusted-over polenta with yet more lightly fried onion- certainly not caramelized as the menu describes. We wanted dessert but the place got so busy we thought it would take ages so just asked for the cheque. Even though the menu states there is a 10% service/bread charge it was clear the waiter expected more so we added another 10%. Wouldn't return. Wouldn't recommend. It's not bad just certainly not memorable.
