Biiru is a nice Japanese bistro located downtown, on City Councillors Street, hidden in the shadow of St-James church, a few steps from Ste-Catherine Street. The chef is pleased to offer traditional and refined dishes; you will enjoy the tender and juicy pork chops, marinated in a caramelized sauce. They just melt in your mouth! The tempura vegetables, cooked to perfection, are irresistible. In short, the menu leaves you speechless as its specialties are one better than the other. We had an incredible time at Birru, & it was all thanks to our amazing server, Jessica! She was so attentive, friendly, & truly made the experience special. The drinks were great, but her energy & kindness made the night unforgettable. If you go, ask for Jessica-she's the best!

I went to Biiru with a large group of friends (over 15 people) & we had the loveliest dinner, with amazing service, waiters that were eager to help & accommodate any food restrictions & an overall impeccable vibe!
I would recommend the okonomiyaki to anyone who wants the best Japanese pancake they've ever had - truly delicious, & I couldn't get enough of it!! Will definitely be coming back to Biiru for that dish alone.
Also, special thanks to Juliana, who was an extraordinary waiter & really went out of her way to make this a great evening for everyone in our group. Her drinks were wonderful . She was kind, always smiling, super quick on her feet & just an overall ray of energy. Definitely a highlight of the dinner!View more

Un bar japonais avec quelques plats fusions. En général, j'ai aimé mon expérience & la nourriture servie était pas mal. Les drinks sont biens. Par contre, le staff semble être perdu (des nouveaux surement), on a attendu quand même longtemps pour la nourriture & il y a eu quelques erreurs. Néanmoins, ça reste une bonne place pour un 5@7, une date ou en groupes. Je reviendrai si je cherche un coin dans le centre-ville !View more

Honestly the best japanese restaurant ive ever eaten at. The service staff was super friendly & helpfull. They recommended some plates. They were all delicious.. especially the ribs omg!!!! The restaurant is pretty small so I recommend making reservations in advance. You can eat many plates as they arent too big & you get to taste a lot of diffrent dishes. The price is very good for the quality you get. The drinks are delicious as well. HIGHLY recommend!View more

Biiru has been one of my favourite spots to dine in Downtown Montreal for many years. I just went again this week with my girlfriend & the food, drinks & overall atmosphere were amazing as per usual. The prices are very fair & the food is served tapas style so it is easy to share. I love the ramen salade, candied salmon, the tartare & the many other tasty & unique dishes they have on their menu. The service was so quick. As soon as we were done a drink or a plate, we were asked how it was or if we want more. Our favourite item was the candied salmon. Although the okonomyaki & fried octopus balls were also delicious. We finished it off with the mochi cake which was also very impressive. I would 100% go back! Beautiful spot with a fun atmosphere & tasty food! The outdoor patio space was bright & well-decorated. Our food & drinks came out fast, faster than expected & the service was great! Our server suggested we order 4-6 dishes for 2 people & we were super full with 4. We really enjoyed the karaage & okonomiyaki, the corn korroke was unique & flavourful! I was greatly disappointed with the poor service. We made a reservation 2h prior showing up & during that phone call the lady never mentioned the limited 1h time frame to order, eat & pay for our dinner. There was no mention of the 1h limit on the website, booking site or Facebook. Yet, we were offered our bill after not even 40 minutes, we hadn't even finished our drinks... We were sitting at the bar & the bartender was in a "hurry". I even asked the bartender if the reason he was insisting on giving us the bill was that there was people waiting & he answered bluntly : Yes. We always have people waiting for your seats.
When I addressed the issue to the manager, he didn't even bother to check out reservation or ask or waiter. He simply answered that it was the house rule. 1h for every reservation & that it's mentioned everywhere. Yet, I went back & searched on Facebook & website. No mentions of it at all. I would understand if it was lunchtime but unfortunately it's not the case. We dropped a great amount of money & yet we were shown the door after 40 min. It's unacceptable. Having known, we would've gone elsewhere for sure. The food ain't even that good & not worth the poor service.
It's too bad because we had all gone there before & we're greatly happy hence why we came back tonight.
