We had done research & wanted a higher end birthday dinner experience. My fiancé really sold us on the duck in a can plate !! We were a group of 6 made the reservation online for 10:00pm & they close at 11:00pm we got there in perfect time & were worried about going before they closed but it was busy great experience didn't feel rushed at all. We sat in the back next to the wine cellar that was gorgeous.2 of our friends were vegan & only came with us for drinks since the menu is not very vegan friendly but they were prepared to not eatand the chef went above & beyond & custom made them a dish. Our waiter was very attentive & did an amazing job describing the menu & recommendations. He over head us talk that it was my bday & he surprised us with sparklers & birthday song. Since we were one of the last groups they let us play some songs which we did not expect to experience, the vibes were so great all the employees loved our music & we all were just talking & laughing late at night & it was just NEXT LEVELL, the Highlight of our trip was this dinner. I would extremely recommend this restaurant for something new & fresh.
for all the hype, we were expecting the food to be better... The best was the foie gras. Bar tender was great & made a special drink to suit my taste. The food took a long time to get to the table.
Hi- the service was a bit slow. It took almost three hours to eat dinner. A little long for a weeknight. My pork chop was overcooked. The drinks were good.
This is some of the best food & drink I have had in my life.
Everyone was having fun, & the staff are as responsible for that as the food.
My top restaurant to recommend in Montreal! A great experience to remember. FOOD: everything was exceptional • Poutine Foie Gras: the fries was awesome, the gravy was so yummy, lots of foie gras. Everything goes so well together. • Duck in a Can: their famous dish, the plating doesn't look that nice but it's so tasty. Very tender, I love the harmony of flavor & scent of herbs, gravy & foie gras. • Pork Chop: The pork was a little bit dry to me but still taste good. Love the tiny little mushrooms. Gravy was so flavorful. • Chocolate Choux: the ice cream cleaned all the fatty taste in my mouth, very refreshing yet rich & creamy. They store hot chocolate ganache in a insulated bottle is just so cute. DRINKS: • Special cocktail of the day: the cocktail sounds very complicated, all I remember is some liquor infused in foie gras or something. It was amazing, I really love the flavor • Dessert cocktail: it looks cool when they lit it on fire, smell great but I think it's too strong to be a dessert cocktail. SERVICE: great service, they explained all the dish, check on us once in a while. VIBE: smaller place than I thought, super busy. I got a table by the open kitchen so the smell is gorgeous.
The food, drinks & service were excellent! Can't say enough good things.
The service was quite disappointing & led to an awkward & uncomfortable start to the evening. We had a 9:30 reservation & arrived on time but had to flag down the hostess after waiting in the foyer for 15 minutes to let them know we had arrived. Our seats weren't ready at the bar but we were assured that it would be 5 min. After another 10 min we were offered a table to wait - awkwardly facing the couple in our seats who had no intention of finishing their drinks & leaving. It wasn't until almost an hour after our initial reservation that our seats became available. I understand that no one wants to be rushed but what's the point of the reservation if not honoured - an hour delay & no effort to make things right or make up for the inconvenience just isn't acceptable at this price point. The food is wonderful but not enough to justify coming back with this level of service.
This place is amazing! Great atmosphere, great drinks & incredible food. Get the duck in a can!

My fiancee & I went here for our couple's anniversary. What an amazing experience from start to finish! Service was warm & efficient, food & drinks were great & the vibe was perfect.
We were welcome right away as we sat down. It didn't take long for the waiter to come over to take our orders. I had the special cocktail which was some kind of old fashioned with foie gras & it was great. The appetizers we picked were out of this world. We had the oysters & the foie gras nigiri. For the main dishes, we chose the Mapo Tofu & the Cassoulet. It was pretty good, however not amazing. & also they should've maybe picked another name for the Mapo Tofu because it wasn't much of a mapo tofu. Nonetheless, it was still tasty. We finished off with a strawberry pie for dessert which was also delicious!
The service was top class. I believe our waiter's name was Nicolas & he came over to our table very often to make sure that everything was okay. At some point it was almost like he was reading our minds, helping us before we even had to ask. The rest of the team was also exceptional. One nice little touch that we really appreciated was that they asked if we prefered to be served in French or in English.
Overall a remarkable experience. I would definitely come back again to try other items in the menu!
It s more than a platter & a drink!! It was an entire experience... this is my coup de coeur au Quebec!
Merci pour la belle équipe!
The food was excellent, but the restaurant was very loud & it was difficult to have a conversation with the noise. The food & drink were slow to arrive.
Very disappointing - all 3 starters were served together. The famous duck in a can was terrible. The duck was very tough & undercooked on half of the breast. The accoutrements were overcooked like mush & under-seasoned.. To be honest - it looked dog food. Wine & drinks were okay. Service was very good. Overall, I will not return nor recommend to others. Very sad as this was a bucket list restaurant destination. We traveled all the way from Australia.
Aside from the fois gras dishes, everything was pretty two dimensional flavor-wise, over salted, & extremely over priced. I think this place rests heavily on its reputation, & ultimately is about as good as your average bistro in NYC or SF. The friendly waiter upsold me 25$ glasses of wine & our service deteriorated once I stopped drinking. Won't go back.
Fabulous food well worth the wait! But there was a bit of a wait with no menu when we sat down, bread arrived 45 mins in, drinks & first course almost an hour. Our waiter disappeared most of the night but the manager was working very hard all over the place for sure. But other than skipping dessert as we didn't want to wait, we had a fabulous experience & the dishes were even beyond our already high expectations.
We enjoyed the food but the service was terrible. Our drink order didn't get taken for 30+ minutes while our server was focusing on two tables next to us. We finally got a drink 45 min after we sat down & ordered our food. 30 min later our flustered server came over to tell us the kitchen never received our food order. He tried to blame to kitchen even though I am sure he never sent the order in. He was not apologetic until I explained how I am in the restaurant biz & have been to PDC many times. I've never experienced anything but excellent service at PDC. We planned our whole trip to MTL around getting this reservation & unfortunately the poor service ruined our experience. Very disappointed.
Wonderful food & drink & courteous service as always. The kitchen seemed very backed up on this visit, so there were lengthy waits between courses - not the usual flow that we experienced during our first two visits. Still, a lovely evening overall, & we will return during our visit to Montréal.
This was our best meal in Montreal! Everything was delicious. The tomato tart appetizer was incredible. Our mains were the pasta, pork, & halibut. We shared them amongst our family. It was the perfect amount for my husband our & three kids. The drinks were wonderful as was the wine. I only wish we lived closer, I'd be here quite often!
This was the best food I've ever had. The fois gras nigiri blew me away! So flavourful. The staff was amazing & made great recommendations, even gave us free drinks & food to make up for an average wait time.. I'll take it! 10/10
Great food, drinks & service but super casual at the same time, Maybe a little noisy if you were going for a romantic meal for two ! Duck in a can & the pork shanks were amazing as was the Foie gras poutine that we shared as a starte
