So I've been coming to this place since around 2014-2015, back when it was a hole in the wall. Have been at least a few times a year ever since & have recommended it to dozens of people, & I'm sad to say that the last couple years this place has been seriously lacking. Their staple dish & the only thing I've ever had there, the arepas, now lack flavour. Underseasoned, dry meat, undersalted, bread undercooked/not cut properly, fillings unevenly distributed, sauces on the arepa too watery. It wasn't this way once upon a time. I have also had less than edible greens in the included mini salad twice across 5 visits in the last two years (once wilted & brown, the other time a small amount of mold). I would love to give this place five stars but they need to up their game. Sadly, this last visit will probably have been be my last. The arepas used to be a 10/10 & are now probably a 6/10. I have tried almost all of them. Some simple fixes can make a huge difference. The staff is polite & the space is casual, open & inviting.
I really like this place, the food is amazing & so are the sauces. Though the service was kind of slow, but the servers were so nice. Though I dont recommend getting the chocolate cake, I found it to be gross. But I do 100000% recommend this place for lunch.
Food, drink, service & restaurant were excellent in every way! They served my family of 11 for a late lunch & we enjoyed it all. Highly recommend you try the empanadas!
Our first time trying Venezuelan food & this place was amazing! The cheese empanadas were so delicious, & the Reina Pepiada was excellent. Everything was fresh & full of flavor; highly recommend!
The food was delicious & everything came at a great temperature with generous portions. I highly recommend the empanadas, you can order them mixed, which is perfect for trying different flavors. The cheese one was amazing, & the pork empanada was just as good. I also had the Llanera arepa & really enjoyed it. For dessert, the coconut flan was tasty as well.
They also have soursop water, sugarcane juice, & other fresh juices, which was a nice touch. I only wish they had offered a straw, but that's a very minor detail. Prices are affordable & the staff was friendly. Sometimes it felt a little hard to get someone's attention for dessert or the bill, but honestly it also gave us time to relax & enjoy our conversation. Overall, a very good experience & I'd definitely come back.
