I had such a great evening at Arepera! Everything we had was absolutely delicious. We shared the plantains with feta as a starter, & I had an arepa (queso aguacate) for my meal - it was amazing. The flavors were incredible & everything tasted very fresh.
A huge bonus: the entire menu is gluten-free, which makes the experience so enjoyable when you have to eat gluten-free. Being able to order anything on the menu without worrying is really appreciated.
Warm atmosphere & very friendly service. A wonderful discovery in Montreal - I'll definitely be back!
Love coming back to this place. Their arepas are de-li-ciO-sas. The juices are fresh. Their arepas & empanada options are varied, they easily accomodate personal preferences. Staff is attentive.

Listen-I've been burned before by Latino pork & beef that turned out stringy & dry. But here? Their Pabellón & Suerna were so juicy & packed with flavor. The toppings were fresh & top-notch, & they even give you both a tangy avocado sauce & a spicy sauce-absolute perfection.
The arepas themselves? Perfectly cooked: crispy on the outside, soft inside, & the ideal vessel for a generous, delicious filling. Definitely coming back next time I'm in the area.

Came here again 2025/6/4, it was way worse. The meat wasn't fresh. The corn bread also became worse. We ordered the cassava fries, only 6 fries were given… that's way too stingy.
The salmon were salty, so I assume they used cured salmon. Just order other fish which will be better than the salmon
Last time we ordered pork & fish & it was very delicious, now we order salmon & beef but it wasn't that good.
The cocktail is a skip. Any combination you made yourself at home will be better & cheaper. You can even buy a whole bottle of wine with that price & get better satisfaction out of it. The cocktail costed $10
ONE OF THE BEST RESTO À MONTRÉAL! Affordable, delicious & fresh, the staff are lovely & multilingual! I mean this is a wonderful place to go with friends. The 6$ MIMOSA CANNOT BE BEAT in this city.

This charming restaurant has been a Plateau mainstay since 2011, specializing in arepas, empanadas, & all things Venezuelan. 🇻🇪
The brunch is a delightful addition! The dishes were not only gluten-free but also bursting with authentic flavors.
We started with an order of empanadas; each one was perfectly crafted & filled with delicious ingredients, offering a satisfying crunch with every bite.
We followed that with the Plato Criollo, a giant plate of Perico eggs, fresh avocado, fried plantains, stewed beans, arepas, Andean cheese, & chicharrón (pork belly). All of this was not only delicious but extremely filling. We couldn't finish half of it 😅-the portion was very generous.
A big thank you to the team for their warm hospitality during brunch; it was evident that they take pride in their food & service. ☀?
Fresh & tasty. The meats were juicy & delicious. We tried the pork with black beans, plantain & feta cheese & beef, black beans, plantain, feta. I preferred the pork one. The empanadas were so crispy. Good, friendly service.
It was delicious, affordable great service & vibrant atmosphere. The food was fresh & full of flavour, the sauces are especially delicious. Such a treat to eat somewhere 100% gluten free!!! This one is getting added to my list of Montreal fans.

I was in a food-rut & my boyfriend recommended this place & I am so glad he did because it was delicious! Something new that I've never tasted before. Got the avocado beef arepa & feta cheese arepa & it was so filling & savoury! the mango juice was also great. Fresh flavours, lots of options on the menu, & friendly staff. Prices are cheap, you get a lot of quality ingredients in abundance, & it's fast. There was a lineup of people when we arrived so I put my name & number down & after one walk around the block they were ready for us. It's the perfect food to eat out in the park on a sunny day as well.
Tried Arepera on the recommendation of our daughter...was pleasantly surprised on how good it was!! Even though the atmosphere is a bit noisy the food & service are very good & everything was fresh & hot!! I would really consider returning the next the next time we are in Montreal!!
I get the Domino Platano with Avocado every time. It's a really filling, affordable, & authentic vegetarian option always made fresh with the loveliest consistencies. It tasted divine when drenched in the chili & avocado sauces. Also such a cozy spot with fast & kind service.
With prices soaring these days I paid about $9.8 to take out three empanadas. I think it's more than fair as it's not Kensington Market in Toronto where there's a lot more traffic & competition. The empanadas are fresh & in hindsight I should have gotten all cheese. Super yummy!
