One the best bangali restaurants in Canada, for taste. Took my wife & my mom there, had beef shatkora, daal, begun & shutki bhorta with shaak chingri & pabda maach. They were all great - felt like we had dinner at home, we were visiting from out of town & needed some bhaat & it hit the spot. Good service, the food wasn't oily or greasy & genuine appayon!
Two years of wait later I finally made time to see the only Bangali restaurant in Montreal! Appayon is a hidden gem that transported us straight to the heart of Bengali cuisine. The flavors at Appayon are spectacular. Each dish bursts with authenticity, carrying the aroma of Bangladeshi cuisine. The menu is a delightful blend of traditional & contemporary dishes. We went as a group so we could try a variety of beef tehari, goru bhuna, morog polao & biriyani, all of which were perfectly crispy & savory. We also paired with fish, cutlets, kebab & bhorta, which were rich, creamy, & bursting with flavor. the chaa made my day! The portions are hearty, satisfying, & perfect for sharing. Whether you're a solo diner or part of a group, you'll leave with a contented belly & a smile. Overall, Appayon Restaurant is a gem in Montréal's dining scene. Price. Quantity. Flavour. Customer Service. All 5*. It was a pleasant experience. We tried all the snacks items. Next time we will try out the main dish. Update: 2024 6 fuchka for $8 a bit too much. Quality has deteriorated. I am bringing it down from 5* 2yrs ago to 2* current.
one of the very few Bengali restaurants in Mtl, was pretty excited when I first tried the authentic platter with white rice , alu bhorta & dal & they didnt disappoint. But as I started trying their other meals, altho the taste takes me back to my home country, the oil might take me to the hospital. Too much oil in every meal, muglai was overheated by dipping in oil again & the price is really really overpriced also mandatory tips was very disappointing too
Please don't take the 1 star reviews seriously. Bangladeshis (including my parents) are quick to get angry, entitled & critical over small inconveniences. Their food is absolutely AMAZING! I've been ordering their food since COVID & I still do take-out, their food has never failed. I had a small issue once & the owner was so quick to help. Food & customer is overall amazing. Give them a chance! & please have their pulao & roast combo, it helped me through tough days (because it's that amazing) Thank you Appayon for putting Bangladeshi food on the map!
