If you are looking for authentic Bengali cuisine in Montreal I would highly recommend Appayon! We ordered 1) Appayon special combo( 8.5/10) 2) beef tehari (8/10) (beef was soft & tender) 3) shutki vorta - (6.5/10) (it was not that spicy) 4) rup chada mach - (7.5/10) 5) beef bhuna (8.5/10) 6) dudh cha (8.5/10) Portion size is good & the food was really yummy! Staff & service was good . Price is reasonable. ** Their appayon special roast was too good just like Bangladesh's bie barir roast.

This spot has the best Bengali food ever, it has been meeting quality standards for years now. Very friendly & inviting & the prices are fair. I just drove from Ottawa to Montreal & got the chicken roast & the tea. Highly recommend.

Please don't take the 1 star reviews seriously. Bangladeshis (including my parents) are quick to get angry, entitled & critical over small inconveniences. Their food is absolutely AMAZING! I've been ordering their food since COVID & I still do take-out, their food has never failed. I had a small issue once & the owner was so quick to help. Food & customer is overall amazing. Give them a chance! & please have their pulao & roast combo, it helped me through tough days (because it's that amazing) Thank you Appayon for putting Bangladeshi food on the map!
very nice atmosphere. a family owned restaurant. you will get deshi foods, we have tried plain polau with chicken roast & shrimp curry & steamed rice. food was really good, & service from hussain vai was very nice. they maintain Their restaurant very nicely. when we visited seen everybody busy with ramadan lighting & decorations. best wishes for their effort. stay blessed.
I was craving Pulao & Roast & ordered a takeout. The rice tasted bland, i think they missed salt entirely. The roast was ok, but pulao was too bad to eat. Too much oily. Another customer was complaining about the food & the server who was present there was kinda rude with them, overhearing their conversation. Mughlai was ok, fuchka was not upto the mark.
Appayon is the best Bangladeshi restaurant I've ever tried in Canada. This establishment specializes in serving local Bangladeshi cuisine, particularly dishes from the northeastern region of Bangladesh. During our visit to Montreal, we made a stop at this restaurant & were pleasantly surprised. The food was home-cooked, fresh, & filled with love. We sampled the shutki bhorta, roasted chicken, shrimp fried rice, alu bhorta, bhaat bhaji, & pulao rice. We highly recommend this restaurant to everyone.
Chicken roast & pulaow were very close to authentic Bangladeshi taste. Their fish & beef dishes were also delicious. The washroom was clean & impressive. I would be happy to visit here again."
