Amazing homestyle Bangladeshi food. We had the beef tehari, tuna kebab, aloo bhortha & the sylethi style beef bhuna with preserved lemon (this was exceptionally good)
Also in spite of not having most dishes left (which is a good sign) they still fed me & my friend to the brim & accommodated us!
If I could give 6/5 stars I would.
This made us feel like home. I absolutely enjoyed the dishes & the hospitality. I am originally from New York City, a Bangladeshi American. To get the taste of authentic Bangladeshi food like this in Montreal was a good experience. I 100% recommend this place.

Two years of wait later I finally made time to see the only Bangali restaurant in Montreal! Appayon is a hidden gem that transported us straight to the heart of Bengali cuisine. The flavors at Appayon are spectacular. Each dish bursts with authenticity, carrying the aroma of Bangladeshi cuisine. The menu is a delightful blend of traditional & contemporary dishes. We went as a group so we could try a variety of beef tehari, goru bhuna, morog polao & biriyani, all of which were perfectly crispy & savory. We also paired with fish, cutlets, kebab & bhorta, which were rich, creamy, & bursting with flavor. the chaa made my day! The portions are hearty, satisfying, & perfect for sharing. Whether you're a solo diner or part of a group, you'll leave with a contented belly & a smile. Overall, Appayon Restaurant is a gem in Montréal's dining scene. Appayon is the best Bangladeshi restaurant I've ever tried in Canada. This establishment specializes in serving local Bangladeshi cuisine, particularly dishes from the northeastern region of Bangladesh. During our visit to Montreal, we made a stop at this restaurant & were pleasantly surprised. The food was home-cooked, fresh, & filled with love. We sampled the shutki bhorta, roasted chicken, shrimp fried rice, alu bhorta, bhaat bhaji, & pulao rice. We highly recommend this restaurant to everyone.
Chicken roast & pulaow were very close to authentic Bangladeshi taste. Their fish & beef dishes were also delicious. The washroom was clean & impressive. I would be happy to visit here again."
Montreal's first Bangladeshi restaurant ! Oh boy what a pleasant surprise & worth every penny. There's a variety of different options of traditional fishes or meat dishes as well as some unique vegetarian dishes.
They also make their own sweet yogurt which is simply amazing !
