786 HALAL RESTAURANT an ultimate Pakistani restaurant best for family and friends get together, parties & celebrations, business lunches, conferences, marketing & promotional launches, press conferences and many more.
786 Restaurant Halal receives mixed feedback but is frequently praised for warm hospitality, friendly service, and what many call the best naan in Montreal along with flavorful, fresh dishes and generous portions. Standout items mentioned include chicken biryani, lamb karahi, lahori chargha, haleem, and fried fish, with garlic naan and raita commonly noted as good accompaniments. The atmosphere is described as nice and suitable for families, with seating for toddlers and a prayer area that many find convenient. On the downside, several reviews point to inconsistency and occasional missteps in kitchen or service, such as butter chicken not meeting expectations, karahi not tasting right, kebabs that are undercooked, and charges for mango lassi that are not promptly resolved. Prices have risen a bit over time, and some visits experience longer wait times. Overall the restaurant is regarded as one of the better halal Pakistani options in the city for flavorful food and a welcoming staff, though experiences vary and some dishes can be hit or miss.
We've always loved this restaurant & their food - it's usually delicious & we enjoy coming here.
However, today we had a very scary experience with our 2-year-old daughter. She was simply eating plain rice when she suddenly started coughing. Then we noticed some blood coming from her mouth. She kept putting her finger inside her mouth & couldn't swallow.
I checked with my phone light & saw a small, sharp piece (like a branch or unground spice stem) stuck in her throat. I had to act very quickly & carefully put my hand inside her mouth to remove it. It was a very stressful moment as a parent - no one wants to see their child in pain & bleeding.
Thankfully, I was able to remove it in time, but this could have turned into something much more serious.
I hope the restaurant takes this seriously & pays closer attention to cleaning & preparing spices properly. Small things like this can be very dangerous, especially for children or elderly people.
Bad portions that are definitely not worth the price. The pricing definitely doesn't match the quality/portion ratio of the food.
The service is okay & the restaurant atmosphere is also fine. The staff are quite nice & friendly.
However, the portioning is absolutely horrible.

Cela fait plusieurs fois que je mange ici & j'ai toujours apprécié l'endroit. J'ai toutefois remarqué un léger changement dans la qualité de la nourriture, mais l'ensemble reste satisfaisant. Je donnerais 4/5.
I ordered chicken Karahi & beef kababs. Karahi was okay but kebabs were uncooked & dry. The waiter also took order for mango lassi but never delivered & I thought she forget so no issue. After paying the bill, luckily I asked for receipt & mango lassi was charged on my bill. When I pointed it to the counter lady, she provided me ready made mango lassi( drink as you go). I was very disappointed to the service.
My husband & our 3 other couple friends dined out last Sunday. It was the perfect place. We were all seated together, there were high chairs for our toddlers. The food was delicious & the service was great.

786 staff were friendly, service & greeting was on point. unfortunately the food was not. Butter chicken was not butter chicken.
Lamb Karai was not Karai. The only thing that we may have enjoined was the Chargha chicken & then the karak chai. Kheer also was not up to par. Shame.
