Review Summary

786 Restaurant Halal is praised for tasty, authentic Pakistani halal food with generous portions and fresh ingredients, and dishes like chicken biryani, lamb karahi, Lahori chargha, garlic naan, haleem, veal karai, and fish are often highlighted along with desserts such as gulab jamun and drinks like mango lassi. The atmosphere is described as welcoming and family friendly, with nice seating, a prayer area, and friendly, attentive staff. Prices have risen with inflation, and a few orders miss the mark, including butter chicken that falls short, undercooked rice, karahi not quite karahi, and kheer not up to par, while service can be slow at times. Overall, it is regarded as one of the best halal or Pakistani options in Montreal, with guests returning for flavorful, not overly oily dishes and a variety of options, and many noting a positive experience during Ramadan/iftaar and for group dining.

I ordered chicken Karahi & beef kababs. Karahi was okay but kebabs were uncooked & dry. The waiter also took order for mango lassi but never delivered & I thought she forget so no issue. After paying the bill, luckily I asked for receipt & mango lassi was charged on my bill. When I pointed it to the counter lady, she provided me ready made mango lassi( drink as you go). I was very disappointed to the service.

Before returning to Toronto me & my wife went back to this restaurant second time three years later to try their fish which was delicious.

Yummy food was served by friendly staff in a timely manner. We ate fish, palak paneer, seekh kababs, boneless tikka with naan &
fried rice. Salad & raita was included. We also ordered Chicken biryani for takeout.

Every dish was of the highest quality & not a single one was oily like several other places I've been to. Mango lassi is highly recommended to start off. Who could leave without dessert..I ate warm & fresh Gulab jamans. Souf (Fennel seeds) was available free of cost for customers to digest the meal.

Starting off, someone was there to receive us as soon as we entered the restaurant. The waiters were really nice & the atmosphere was good as well, apart from the old furniture & a part of the cushion of my dinner booth was sagged inside. We ordered:
1- Chicken seekh kebab, which were the highlight of the dinner.
2- Matar Paneer, not spicy at all but not much flavor either.
3- Nihari, the flavors were good but the texture wasn't; it was like I could still feel the raw flour.
4- Mango Lassi, 🥭 was a delight.
5- Garlic Naan, perfect!

We ordered sweet lassi, chicken korma, & garlic naan. The sweet lassi was very good, as well as the naan. The korma was good, but was missing some spices. The restaurant is large & can accommodate a lot of people.

Nota bene: alcool formellement interdit. Fermé pour prières le vendredi de 13 à 14h. Autrement est ouvert 7/7 de 11 à 21h, fort pratique.
