49th Parallel Micro-Torréfacteur Cafe opens its doors in Montreal at its first ever location outside of British Columbia in the summer of 2021. Finding and creating this space was a long, occasionally challenging but always interesting process that took over a year to complete!
The space itself, its location in the heart of Old Montreal and the building’s history were an obvious draw. This was a labour of love from all the people involved in the project, from the contractor to the designer – everyone came together to preserve the charm of the old building with its exposed 100 year old bricks and stone masonry while bringing it to life with a sleek retro design.
Our fourth Café features the 49th coffee everyone knows and loves, Lucky’s donut menu revamped with reimagined Quebec classics and a full kitchen featuring breakfast egg burgers and seasonal brunch offerings (coming soon).
49th Parallel Café - Lucky's Doughnuts is described as a standout spot in downtown Montreal for coffee and donuts, with donuts noted for size, texture and indulgent flavors such as vanilla glazed, chocolate glazed, strawberry frosted and pumpkin, and the coffee often called good to excellent, sometimes with praise for single origin beans. The atmosphere is repeatedly described as bright, cozy, and conducive to work or a relaxed chat, though it can get crowded and noisy at peak times. Service is generally friendly and helpful, but occasional experiences mention rude or inattentive staff and inconsistent service. While the donuts are the main draw and considered worth the price by many, several reviews also point out that prices are on the higher side and that some days items sell out early or packaging can affect the toppings. Overall the cafe is seen as a popular go-to for a sweet treat and a solid coffee break, with most respondents happy to return.

I usually come there 2-3 times a week to take a'Roussette Vanille' in the morning. When I pay that price I expect it to be fresh made from the morning. In the last 6 months, I had 2 or 3 times the unsell product from the day before or worse. But this week this was 2 day in a row with not fresh product.
le café est vraiment délicieux, le latté aussi & les beignes , c'est le mal ^_^ ça donne envie de goûté à toutes les beignes au présentoir j'ai adoré !!
Really nice coffee shop with solid drinks & a good selection of treats. The coffee was good, & I appreciated that they also offer matcha. They have a nice variety of donuts & pastries, which all looked fresh & tempting. Overall, a pleasant spot to grab a drink & something sweet.

Coffee & doughnuts: a match made in Old Montreal heaven. ☕?🍩
If you're looking for the ultimate mid-day pick-me-up, 49th Parallel Café & Lucky's Doughnuts - McGill is calling your name. From their world-class direct-trade coffee to those legendary, hand-crafted Lucky's Doughnuts, it's the perfect spot to refuel in style.
Did you know that this stunning location-the brand's first-ever flagship outside of British Columbia-was a true labor of love? It took over a year to complete the renovation, meticulously preserving the building's 100-year-old exposed brick & stone masonry to blend Old Montreal charm with a sleek, retro aesthetic. ✨
Stop by to watch the pastry chefs through the glass-walled kitchen as they roll out fresh dough all day long! 🥐🏙?
It was our first time here. It's really a very cool place in the middle of downtown Montréal. It's cozy vibes gives the customers to enjoy coffee with bakery items & it's the WiFi facility makes the customers to sit here for long hours. Its prices are affordable in terms of coffee & donuts. I ordered matcha coffee, espresso coffee & the taste was amazing. The quality of the pistachio donut was okay types according to my experience but not too great as well but the raspberry donut was pretty good. Overall, it's a cool cafe to enjoy coffee & bakery items.
Grabbed a latte & a crème brûlée donut. Wow made my day. Well prepared quality coffee from first Sip beats & everything in the area. Price very decent but super high quality ( gold flakes on my crème brûlée!) amazing
We were only here for take out order, but the girl who served us was very polite. The coffees were made immediately & are tasty, as is the London fog. We also enjoyed the donuts. Location is what brought us here as it was around the corner from where we are staying. Worth a visit. Seems like atmosphere to hangout with a friend or to get some work done.

Honestly, not the best croissant & coffee in town. I went in with higher expectations based on the reviews, but the croissant was stale & the coffee tasted sour. It also felt like the coffee machine really needed a good cleaning based on the taste. Overall, it was disappointing.
We come here every time we go to Montreal, & I love their beignes. Enjoy a coffee & some beignes & watch tray after tray of fresh beigness being brought out every 15 to 30 minutes.
They have a nice variety. My personal favorites are the vanilla glazed & the vanilla roussette. My wife loves the chocolate glazed. However, my one disappointment is that they used to have this which we have not been able to get for many of our visits to Montreal. Please make these part of your regular offerings again
