A classic American breakfast in downtown Montreal. Service is good. Each dish is huge. Hard to finish all by our ownself. The food is good, meets the standard. It might not be a wow. But this is a good place to have breakfast, brunch or lunch with friends. There are both indoor & outdoor tables.View more

We were looking for a place that satisfied several different palates. Universal Dejeuners & Grill did just that. The service was spot on, & the food tasted amazing. We (three of us) settled on pizzas of three different types, & it was great. We had a couple of tasty cocktails as well. Prices are quite reasonable for the portion & quality. If you are undecided about any particular restaurant, consider Universel.View more

Bien que le serveur a été rapide & efficace il nous a malheureusement servis deux plats commander comme risotto mais des pâtes au lieu. J'ai refuser la mienne & ma fille elle a accepté le sien mais le serveur ne la pas écouter & est repartis subito avec les deux assiettes (il a dit qu'il n'avait pas entendu rissoto), arriver à notre table les risotto était de faible exécution plutôt du riz coller dans une sauce tomate poivron. La télé au dessus de notre table était sur une émission de type Emergency 911... a 19h au centre-ville de Montréal un vendredi soir ça me semble hors contexte. La musique était horrible probablement pour satisfaire le staff plus que la clientèle. Il fut un temps où les frères qui menaient ces établissements tout était presque parfait de l'accueil a la sortie & la bouffe surtout. Dommage 🙃View more

Went there during a visit to Montreal. The food was great & all. After I paid the bill & put the tip that I want, the server came to me & told me they have a 15% minimum tip policy, & I was like I didn't know. He just stood there waiting for the extra money to match the 15%, & he was like you still need to pay 6$ more. I see this as unbelievably rude! A tip is completely optional & I get to tip as much as I want/can. You don't get to stand there waiting for me to pay the rest in cash or whatever. Despite the good food, i am not coming back again because of this mandatory tipping policy.View more
