Review Summary

Torii Sushi Bar is described across reviews as a refined, consistently fresh sushi destination where inventive flavors and high quality ingredients shine, the tasting menu is highly recommended, and the BYOB policy is a popular perk; the fish is repeatedly praised for freshness, the presentation is elegant, and the service is noted as attentive, knowledgeable, and professional, with staff offering recommendations and explanations of the menu. The atmosphere is often described as stylish and inviting, reservations are advised due to its popularity, and many diners consider it among the best sushi spots in the Montreal Laval area, delivering strong value for the quality and a memorable dining experience. While most feedback is glowing, a minority notes fluctuations in takeout quality or service during busy times, and some feel prices are high but justifiable given execution and ingredients. Overall, the reviews converge on Torii Sushi Bar as a standout choice for sushi lovers seeking refined, imaginative dishes, reliable tasting-menu options, and a lively yet upscale BYOB experience.

I've dined in at Torii many times & have always had a great experience. It's a great BYOB restaurant in Laval. It has been a while since I ordered take out or ate at the restaurant but I ordered take out this past weekend for the first time in a while & the quality has significantly declined since. The quality of the fish seemed to not be as fresh, there was a particular smell to my special rolls (corail, rainbow), but not the fuego rolls which were tasty. The sauces they came with also were extremely watery, & overall I felt sick after having a few rolls & did not finish them. I do not think I'll be back after this experience unfortunately.

Absolutely love Torii Sushi in Laval! The food is always fresh & delicious, my favorite is definitely the Rainbow Roll, perfectly balanced & beautifully presented.

But what really makes the experience special is the amazing service. The waiter is always super attentive, friendly, & makes sure everything is perfect throughout the meal.

A fantastic place for sushi lovers, highly recommended!

Delicious & high quality sushi! You must try the lobster tartare which was everyone's absolute favourite (we were 7 people). The fuego & homarus rolls were also amazing. For dessert we had the fried banana & the chocolate mousse which were delightful! Excellent service & nice ambiance especially in the later evening when it is darker outside. Cannot wait to return!!

Lovely place for sushi, bring your own wine, not much of selection but still good, desset amazing. Place was pack. I would recommand the place for a nice date night, service is a bit slow but understandable it was packed. I would recommand the katsu roll those was amazing & the dessert was great.

I really loved the sushi at Torii Sushi! It was super fresh & tasted amazing. Everything about the place was great-the flavors, the quality, & even the service. The only thing I'd say is that the sushi rolls weren't wrapped tight enough, so they kept falling apart when I tried to pick some of them up with chopsticks. Also, the pieces were cut unevenly-some were way too thin, & others were too thick, which made it a bit hard to eat. If they could fix the size & consistency of the rolls, it'd be perfect! Definitely worth trying, though, because the taste is spot on.

Torii Sushi is our go-to spot for celebrations with family or friends! The service is impeccable & the staff are so attentive. The freshness of the ingredients is unbeatable. The chef's creations are always delicious, with bold flavor combinations. If you are new to the place the chef's choice is an absolute must: they take your preferences & budget per person & create a custom menu that's (in our opinion) always perfect for the occasion. The Tuna Guacamole is a must-try the pieces of tuna are super generous! The fuego roll & the tataki duo are also some of our favourites! We really appreciate the option to bring our own wine! Best sushi place in the Greater Montreal region, hands down! If you're looking for an exceptional dining experience, look no further!

Nice cozy place for a date night. Friendly service. The waiters take time to explain the menu & the dishes that are serving. We had oysters, albacor tataki, the paradise roll, & the sashimi plater. Loved the oyster, but we asked without foie gras. It is too rich & it overloads the taste of oysters when it gets served with foie Gras. The kimchi dressing peared very well with the ikura & oyster. Albacor tataki was always good. The sauce is very fruity & gives you appetite for the next dish. The paradise roll was our less favourite. There is nothing special about it. They used two soya papers to roll it, which made it very tick in texture. I'm not a fan of their sushi rolls. I find the rolls pretty much normal for the price. Sashimis are fresh & served on ice, which we enjoyed. I recommend this place if you like raw fishes & special dishes like their tataki, tartare. The price is on the higher end. For 2, we spent 240$. Don't forget to bring your own wine 😉

Laval is probably the last place to find a great sushi restaurant. But here we are on a Saturday evening with BYOB of sake on hand, i was dragged to Laval & so glad i came. AYCE buffet vibe but food is anything but AYCE, it was solid, in fact very solid. Strong starters with the surprisingly great seaweed salad & fresh raw oysters. The rest were rolls, tartares & one by one, they came & we savoured them. I refuse to drive far but will make an exception do drive to Laval to eat at Torii. Well done!
