Toqué! est l'une des meilleures tables de Montréal, où l'engagement envers les produits québécois et le savoir-faire se ressent à chaque bouchée.

My wife & I wanted to celebrate her birthday & some milestones we achieved together! Fortunately for us, during our overnight stay in Montreal, Toqué! was close by & we were eager to have a Michelin Star experience.

Toqué! did not disappointed in the slightest! The moment we arrived, staff greeted us & welcomed us in. The mood, decor & lighting was very pleasant & relaxing. We found ourselves at a nice window seat in a corner table for two.

To skip ahead a little, the cocktails pictured here is their take on a New York Sour called'Le Crepuscule' & without a doubt it was an immediately superior rival to the famed beverage. What a start!

Before I go on & on about the food (which is an easy 5/5, 10/10 or whatever you want to call it) the staff had surprised a few first time diners with a few additional treats at no extra cost! No spoilers here! But everything from the first dish right down to dessert were some of the most savoury & delicious dishes I've ever experienced. Period.

It was a memorable experience & we definitely will come back to Montreal to visit Toqué! to celebrate a milestone or future achievement, no doubt! Thank you for an incredible experience!

An unforgettable evening crafted by François?Emmanuel Nicol, the brilliant chef behind Québec City's two?Michelin?star Tanière³. The nine?course tasting menu with wine pairings was executed with absolute mastery. The venison main course was transcendent-perfectly prepared, deeply flavorful, & easily one of the best dishes I've ever tasted. & the surprise dessert of caviar & crème brûlée was a stroke of genius, balancing luxury, texture, & sweetness with remarkable precision. An exceptional culinary experience from start to finish.

The staff were very attentive, even from the message I sent when making my reservation. They also greeted me with a smile & courtesy after I arrived. I chose the seven-course tasting menu. All the dishes were delicately & beautifully presented & delicious. The waitress explained each dish clearly, allowing me to enjoy the meal. I usually pair my wine with wine, but unfortunately I had drunk too much the night before & couldn't enjoy the wine. As I was leaving, they even made a special Japanese menu rist for me as a gift, since I'm Japanese. I really appreciated their thoughtfulness. I'd definitely like to come back & dine here again when I'm in Montreal. I highly recommend this restaurant.

I visited this restaurant & tried their seven-course tasting menu, hoping to be amazed by their seasonal dishes. Unfortunately, I was disappointed & didn't notice the fall season ingredients. The presentation was good, but the serving sizes were a bit small. The service was amazing, & the staff were very approachable. The atmosphere was lively & enjoyable.

I've tried many establishments similar to this one, & unfortunately, this one was quite underwhelming.

We opted for the 7-course meal, but most dishes seemed randomly thrown together & not well thought out. There was no harmony of flavors, & most were bland. The only good dishes were the dessert & the steak main course-2 out of 7. The other 5 were extremely disappointing, & since they were all served at the beginning of the meal, it made for a depressing start.

The service was okay. Everyone was nice & friendly. Other than being nice, there wasn't anything special about the service. We had mentioned in our reservation that it was for a special anniversary celebration, but nothing was done to acknowledge it-not even a simple'congratulations on your anniversary.'

The ambiance was fine, & the drinks were good.

Overall, I would not recommend this restaurant. It is far too expensive for what they offer. The price would be justifiable if the food met the standards of other restaurants of this type, but here it seriously lacked flavor, ingredient quality, & creativity.

& before the owner resplies, yes, disatisfaction was mentionned to the staff members but nothing was done, just a simple'sorry it didn't meet your expectations'. Once again, nothing special about the service.

Montreal staple, tasting menu was well thought out for the most part on the day we dined. Was a little disappointed to be served tuna twice in seven dishes- hence the 4 stars, especially considering the cost.
Wind pairing is highly recommended, well described & explained. Very knowledgeable.
Service was impeccable.

Beautiful experience overall with great personal service. Some dishes weren't MY personal favorites but it doesn't take away from the fact that they took into account our restrictions without any issues & still delivered delicious dishes. I'm not used to spending as much for food but it was 100% worth it for the occasion. Really beautiful restaurant, decorations & atmosphere.

Service is really good. My daughter thinks the dessert taste better than the main course. I kinda agree, dessert is really good, each item has a different flavor, not very heavy or dense. There is one bite I can taste a freezer burn though. Mocktail drink is good. Appetizer raw Scallop is very fresh & tender. Overall the main dishes are nothing special. My 10yr old daughter says the lamb lollipop is not as good as the one in l'ambroisie Paris. I think it's fair since the other one is a Michelin 3 star. Given the name of the restaurant & cost I think it's more of a 4.5 but not a 5.

The food & wine pairing was absolutely fantastic.
I had read some concerns about the sauses being bland, but I found them to be perfectlry balanced. They complemented the naural flavors of the ingredients without overpoering them. The dishes were refined & delicate, & both the service & ambiance exceed my expections.

Their food, cocktails, & service are all amazing. The presentation of the dishes is so beautiful. Definitely a great fine-dining experience to try when visiting Montreal.

An exceptional lunch that showcases both finesse & flavor with decent price.

The halibut dish is a refreshing masterpiece-delicate, lightly cured fish topped with airy foam & surrounded by vibrant berries, herbs, & a bright consommé. It's light yet layered.

The beef course is equally outstanding, with perfectly medium-rare slices melting in the mouth, complemented by earthy mushrooms, charred greens, & silky potato purée. The rich just ties it all together.

Both plates are artful, balanced, & deeply satisfying, celebrating texture, seasonality, & precision. Every element felt intentional & elevated-two standout dishes that left a lasting impression. I absolutely loved them.

Excellent service from the moment I walked in, but unfortunately, the food did not impress me at all. I visited this restaurant because I heard the experience would cost a thousand dollars in the States. Since I went for lunch, it wasn't a course menu. All mains included one appetizer & coffee, priced at $49-53 CAD, which is a very good deal for fine dining menu. They have quite a good wine collection, & many table customers opened bottles. They also offer half glasses of wine, priced at around $10 CAD each. For my meal, I had foie gras as an appetizer & duck leg as the main course. Both dishes were heavy, overly sweet, & salty. While the duck skin was crispy, the meat was dry, & I couldn't understand the purpose of the bread placed between the mushrooms & sauce. My server, Phill, was efficient & well-organized. He handled customer questions about the wine selection quickly & knowledgeably. The post-meal coffee, however, was machine-made, a bit watery, & took over ten minutes to make. In summary, the service & ambiance were excellent, but the food was underwhelming.

Very good tasting menu & wine pairing on an enjoyable night out at Toque. The first couple dishes were seafood forward with two well matched white wine pairings (dry German Riesling & Austrian Chardonnay). The next course was a transition from sea to land, which was a nice touch, as such the wine also moved from white to Rose, nice attention to detail. Moving onto red wines, the dishes evolved to land based ultimately finished with a rich foie gras, short rib, & loin paired with a Bordeaux from Pauillac. Continuing the trend of transitioning we were given the option of sweet or savory before the final dessert, my wife & I chose different, which was a nice option. All in all was a very attentive staff, great explanations from the Sommeliers, & good quality food. Would definitely recommend Toque as a quality option for food & wine pairing in Montreal.

My partner & I have visited Toqué three times over the past couple years, & it seemed high time to leave a review. All three experiences have been excellent. We get the tasting menu every time & are never disappointed. I would highly recommend adding the wine pairing to get the full Toqué experience. Some highlights of this establishment: - The tasting menu varies seasonally, showcasing different local ingredients. - Each dish is flavourful & beautifully arranged, with every ingredient--no matter how simple--playing a role. The focus is on discovering & appreciating high-quality local foods. They do this so well that my partner & I have found that we even enjoy ingredients we normally would not. I don't usually care for raw tomatoes, but I would eat this season's fresh tomato salad by the bowl, given the opportunity. - The staff are knowledgeable & attentive. A big part of the experience here is the staff's presentation of the dishes (& wines, if applicable) as they are brought to your table. They pay close attention to you without being obtrusive, making the pacing of the meal feel perfect as they bring out the next dish not long after you finish one. If you get up from the table, a staff member seems to magically appear to fold your napkin & pull your chair out for you as you return. - The staff are bilingual & can provide excellent service in either English or French. - They have been wonderfully accommodating of my dietary restrictions (more on that separately) & never made me feel like an inconvenience. For prospective diners, here are some points to help shape your expectations: - Interaction with staff is a big part of the tasting menu experience. If this isn't your cup of tea, the tasting menu may not be the best choice. - The focus here is on quality, not luxury or decadence. Toqué does not try to impress its guests with exotic or flashy ingredients. Expect local fruits, vegetables, & proteins, presented elegantly, with natural flavours. You will likely not be served a plate swimming in truffle oil & gold leaf. You may, however, eat the best parsnip purée of your life. - The price of the meal reflects the quality of both the food & the service. For most of us, eating here is a rare treat, but it is a treat indeed, & I have never regretted a dime spent at Toqué. All in all, Toqué has offered my family & me a delightful experience time & time again, & I cannot recommend them highly enough. My only regret is that I have not yet had the opportunity to enjoy each of their seasonal menus.

We had the tasting menu & should have really read more of the recent reviews as we had a similar experience. We had the tasting menu & the first couple of dishes were pretty good but things quickly fell off. Overall the food lacked seasoning & just didn't pop the way you would expect. The lamb was inedible, fat not properly rendered, the young piece was like chewing gristle. Worst of all they burnt the demo glacé & it tasted like they used the same sauce in the following beef dish. The steak was good but just lacked flavor like everything else. We finally asked for salt & pepper which we should have done much earlier. What's most disappointing is that we provided this feedback during the meal & really weren't offered anything else. When the manager asked at the end I told him the sauce was burnt he proceeded to explain to me how Demi glacé is made, which I found incredibly offensive. I've eaten it & made it dozens of times & I know when it's burnt. We spent over $500 & left hungry as we didn't finish 3 of the 7 dishes.

Had the tasting menu here, the meal started off strong with the amuse bouche & ended off really well with the cheese dish & the dessert but everything else was nothing special.... the rest of the dishes didn't leave a memorable impression & our party was left feeling quite disappointed. We had high expectations from this highly rated restaurant, but I probably wouldn't come back. As far as high end restaurants go.... 3.7/5

First time at Toqué- wow! An experience like no other. The service is impeccable with wonderful attention to even the smallest details. The ambiance is elegant (although true decor could use an upgrade). Our dishes came out at a perfect pace with stunning plating. Every dish was special & different. Fresh local products are front & center. Merci 🙏🏽

Been here before covid & had an excellent time. This was my second visit & meal was not as spectacular as it was before covid (still fantastic, but not completely worth the price tag as it was before), but the sommelier was fantastic. Absolutely paired the wine well with the dishes. Decor hadn't changed, but still beautiful. Server was knowledgeable & the hostess was charming. Probably wouldn't come back since I don't think it'd worth the price but good to experience at least once.

Nostalgia is often wasted energy. Twenty years ago we had a fabulous dinner at Toqué. We should have let our memory remain in 2004. Tonight's meal was the most expensive of our vacation & one of the worst. For $420 Canadian with a 20% tip, the cheque was highway robbery. The space had not changed much since 2004 & was dated. What was ahead of its time twenty years ago is now behind the times. Again, we sat at the bar, but we might as been at a two top. The staff was professional, but they reserved their warmth & friendliness for the local French speakers. Camaraderie was around us, but never directed to us. Americans, caveat emptor. Menu offerings read well, sounded great, & looked nice, but the dishes themselves lacked harmony. The asparagus with lobster appetizer was the best taste of the night. My Foie Gras Terrine was a simple pâté accompanied by some discordant jelly & strawberries. It was served with one stingy piece of toasted bread. Walleye, described as such: "Seared walleye confit fennel, fiddlehead, swiss chard stuffed with oyster, pak choï, gremolata, green garlic & smoked butter sauce" was a mess. While the walleye was cooked well, it was bland, & the Swiss chard, & greens overwhelmed the mild taste of the fish. The chef was using seasonable ingredients without thinking of the gestalt of the dish. Nothing went well together. The "Cavatelli with grilled lobster & mushrooms, roasted garlic purée, dulse, asparagus, hazelnut, mizuna purée, Parmigiano Reggiano mousse 68" lacked any harmony. The combination of the ingredients made no sense as a whole. Three out of four dishes were bad. Service was haphazard. We didn't know who our bartender or server was. Pacing was off with too long of a wait between the appetizers & entrees. Our dinner was not good, & the experience was sad. I yearned for Monarque, L'Express, & Lawrence. With two glasses of wine, two cocktails, the total bill was over $400. I felt fleeced.

Went for lunch, amazing food & service, surprised me positively. Had an off-menu lobster/asparagus dish (very good), a pasta dish with mushrooms & other stuff (strong woodsy flavor that I loved), & a maple-based dessert (amazing). They have good optional wine pairings in the lunch table d'hote menu with half-glass or full-glass options which is great if you don't want to drink too much, & unlike most high-end wine pairings worldwide, these actually pair well with the dishes. Will probably come back for the dinner menu next time I'm in town.
