The Keg Steakhouse + Bar opened the doors of its first restaurant in 1971 in Vancouver. Since then, The Keg has expanded across Canada and the US to include over 100 locations. Although its name and décor have changed over time, the dining experience has always stayed consistent. The Keg’s focus has been, and continues to be, on providing exceptional service and quality food in a comfortable atmosphere for its guests.
Quality, comfort and value are three key ingredients that make The Keg experience unlike any other. When it comes to steak, The Keg serves only the finest cuts, aged for tenderness and seasoned with a unique blend. Classic cocktails, delicious appetizers, succulent seafood, and an outstanding wine list round out its classic menu. The Keg’s friendly and knowledgeable staff creates an atmosphere that encourages guests to enjoy, relax and be themselves. Whether you’re getting together with friends or celebrating with family, you’ll always be welcomed with a smile.
Overall, The Keg is a solid choice for steak lovers, with many visits featuring flavorful, well cooked steaks, reliable sides, and attentive service in a warm, lively setting that suits celebrations as well as casual dinners; guests frequently praise the consistent quality, strong bar scene, and friendly staff, with several standout moments where staff went above and beyond. Some visits are affected by crowded rooms, noise, or slower service, and a few meals miss the mark on doneness or seasoning, leading to mixed experiences. Price can be a consideration, but many feel the value is fair for the steakhouse experience, and reservations are recommended at peak times.
J'ai adoré mon expérience au Keg de Pointe-Claire. L'ambiance pour le souper est très intime & discrète, avec une luminosité tamisée tout simplement parfaite. La nourriture, les alcools & le service étaient excellents !
?I loved my experience at The Keg Pointe-Claire. The dinner atmosphere is very intimate & discreet, with perfect low lighting. The food, drinks, & service were all excellent!
The service was great & the food tasted good, but unfortunately several of us suffered from food poisoning shortly after eating. We all had steak, which leads us to believe the meat may not have been fresh or properly handled. This was very disappointing & overshadowed what otherwise seemed like a good dining experience.
While the quality of many restos deteriorate, as prices escalate, The Keg has risen to the occasion, enhancing their dishes with the most delicious baked beets, tasty mushrooms, & homemade bread. The 10 oz. prime rib with the horseradish condiment was excellent. To summarize, I can't remember the last time I had such a good meal; well done & bravo to Keg ! Service was friendly (Get Eddie) & professional, & prices were more than competitive compared to other restos in the same category.
For a'steak house' , the rib steak was salty, charred & dry. Dining in the bar area was exceptionally loud , the service was good though. It was the same as the first time I had dinner there several years ago. I do have to say that the ice cream cake was really good.
I've been to The Keg in Laval on several occasions & it was excellent. This time in Pointe Claire & it disappointed. Roast Beef came out just about blue even after I asked to ensure it did not (2). My wife's meal was good & she enjoyed it (4). Service was ok but lacking interest in customers.
Wasn't a good experience.
