The Keg in Old Montreal never disappoints! From the moment we walked in, the service was warm & attentive. The ambiance perfectly blends cozy & elegant, with beautiful stone walls & low lighting that make it feel extra special.
We ordered the filet mignon & rib steak ; both were cooked to perfection & full of flavor. The sides were just as impressive, especially the garlic mashed potatoes & seasonal vegetables. The cocktails were also excellent, & their wine selection paired beautifully with the meal.
What really stood out was the service , our server was friendly, knowledgeable, & timed everything perfectly. Whether you're celebrating something special or just enjoying a great night out, The Keg in Vieux Montréal is a top-notch choice. Highly recommend making a reservation!View more
Had an incredible dinner at The Keg in Old Montreal. The côte de boeuf was perfectly cooked-tender, juicy, full of flavor. Service was flawless: friendly, attentive but never pushy. The ambiance was cozy & upscale without being stiff. Great spot for a relaxed, high-quality night out. Will definitely be back!View more
Sat in the lounge area. It's a lot more casual but uses the same delicious menu. I had a NY strip & they cooked it perfectly to medium rare. Mixed drinks are done well. Not half pours but a full 2oz & made well.
Service was good. Checked on us but not constantly hovering.View more
I rarely gush about a steak restaurant, but the Keg really nailed it. Perfectly seasoned, perfectly cooked. Service was top notch.
Amazing location, too, in the charming old town.View more
This is my go-to steakhouse! The quality is consistently top-notch every time we visit. Their steaks are perfectly tender & flavorful, without the need for unnecessary extras. The drinks are equally impressive, & as for the staff, their politeness & respectful demeanor speak for themselves.View more
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ My recent experience at Vieux Port-Steakhouse was exceptional from start to finish. For appetizers, we enjoyed the calamari & the poutine-both perfectly prepared & full of flavor. The standout dish was my entrée: bacon-wrapped filet mignon served with creamy mashed potatoes. Every bite was a dream; the filet was incredibly tender & cooked to perfection, while the bacon added a wonderful smoky touch. Our waitress was simply outstanding, attentive, knowledgeable, & went above & beyond to make the experience memorable. This place truly knows how to combine atmosphere, incredible food, & top-tier service. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience!View more
We visited the Old Port of Montreal, Quebec & we've started going to The Keg Restaurant about twenty years ago. They've been a favorite spot for us to dine. Sirloin steak was perfectly cooked & service was amazing as always.View more
Not as fancy as the Keg in LA but steak dishes were cooked perfectly to our preferences. Staffs were not only friendly but also very professional & spoke perfect English which made it even more pleasant.View more
I booked online for dinner, party of 6, it was a breeze. Parking is tricky with Montreal never-ending construction. We were seated right away. Outstanding & efficient service. I had the lobster bisque, it's my favorite & they make it so well. The bread is always fresh & hot off the oven with amazing butter. I had to control myself & not take more bread 😂 as I was offered. We all ordered the steak to be medium. Mine was more toward medium-well but was good. The top sirloin was fantastic. The fries were great, not greasy, perfectly salted. The Pina Colada was very well made, 10/10. We were full so didn't have dessert or coffee but will do that next time around. A solid recommendation if you're in the mood for stake, just emphasize how you want your meat done.View more
Great food. Slow service, especially when leaving. Took nearly 20 minutes between asking for the check & it being brought to our table. Otherwise great eatery. Best thing we ate by far was the Gruyére Mushroom Dip. The bread was fresh, light & crispy. The dip was perfectly spiced creamy & decadent. The ribs were good but the side sauce outshined the meat in that dish. The fries were soggy & under seasoned.View more
Sat in the lounge Feb 15th for a 9pm reservation. I wish we remembered our server's name but he was wonderful! We were sat on time, in a booth, which I asked for in the reservation notes. $150 for rib steak, 14oz prime rib & sangria pitcher before tip. Quite pricey to me but I don't go to these type of places, I was given a gift card, so maybe that's on the cheap end of steakhouse prices? I'll leave that for you to decide. I'd definitely go back if given another gift card (or if I had the money to spare) & I must say it was the best steak I've ever eaten! Perfectly rare throughout, verging near blue rare close to the bone which is my preference. Their steak knives are incredibly dull though, pretty difficult to cut with. Sangria pitcher was huge & strong for the price. My partner liked the prime rib but said he preferred the steak I ordered- from trying the prime rib, it was a bit dry & I wouldn't really recommend it if you're craving steak. However it was the last of that size for the night, so it's probably better earlier in the day. The red wine sauce was great. Again, our server was absolutely fantastic & made sure the kitchen had the prime rib in the size we wanted. So in short, if you're comfortable with the price, I'd recommend this place.View more
Now one of my favourite restaurants.
To start we arrived at maybe 5:30 & were told we may be waiting for about 30 minutes already! It ended up being about 15 minutes but in the meantime we were brought 2 free entree tasters. The entire service was impeccable.
I had the teriyaki sirloin in rare & my boyfriend had this special "limited time" menu, he got a steak with pesto & brie. Both were amazing & perfectly cooked. We had a side of rice pilaf, very good. We also took an entree of mushroom neptune & a small passionfruit creme brulee. Everything was absolutely divine. Although pretty expensive it was totally worth it & I am looking forward to going again.
The ONLY negative point is that it was very loud, but there seemed to be some party going on near the bar.
My wife & I visited this Keg location on December 30. Both plates were excellent. My steak was delicious & perfectly prepared. We were seated next to the window & combined with the holiday season & the snow lightly falling made for a beautiful evening. THe srvice was attentive & pefectly timed.
I sincerely enjoyed myself & would definitely return.
