The Keg Steakhouse + Bar opened the doors of its first restaurant in 1971 in Vancouver. Since then, The Keg has expanded across Canada and the US to include over 100 locations. The Keg in Old Montreal never disappoints! From the moment we walked in, the service was warm & attentive. The ambiance perfectly blends cozy & elegant, with beautiful stone walls & low lighting that make it feel extra special.
We ordered the filet mignon & rib steak ; both were cooked to perfection & full of flavor. The sides were just as impressive, especially the garlic mashed potatoes & seasonal vegetables. The cocktails were also excellent, & their wine selection paired beautifully with the meal.
What really stood out was the service , our server was friendly, knowledgeable, & timed everything perfectly. Whether you're celebrating something special or just enjoying a great night out, The Keg in Vieux Montréal is a top-notch choice. Highly recommend making a reservation!View more

Atmosphere is great & our server Ian was super helpful & nice. My boyfriend speaks french & I speak english so he was serving me in english & as for my partner , he was serving him in french which was very sweet of him. The food was really good but I wouldn't recommend the Iceberg salad considering it's an iceberg lettuce cut in 1/4 topped with ingredients. Thank you for the great experience :)View more

Valentine's Day review : Honestly hands down the best location. We got a nice spot in the bar at 3:30 on vday before the crowd came. Our waiter Greg was nice we had a nice experience. I would recommend the wedge salad with blue cheese.
March 5th review: 10 stars go to Danielle he was the best waiter we ever had & really cares about his job. He explained all the specials which was nice. He offered us the three cheese butter ( if you don't ask usually they won't give it to you but you need to try it ) for the warm bread & gave us a larger portion of butter then they usually do.
The twice baked potatoe was not rushed so made with love. Loads of bacon bits & super creamy. Got so many more veggies this time around & the steak was great & cooked to perfection.
Check out my boyfriend's lobster tail they killed it even with the butter my goodness ! Usually they give you the normal clear butter but the one we got was way better & I forget the name but it's not served at the other kegs.View more

However, while the flavor was spot-on, the presentation felt a bit standard - simply a steak & mashed potatoes on a white plate, lacking a touch of visual flair. This minor detail aside, the rest of the experience was quite enjoyable. Our server was attentive, quickly refilling our water glasses & offering helpful suggestions from the wine list, making us feel well-cared for throughout the meal. The restaurant has a charming ambiance, with exposed brick walls & dim lighting that creates a cozy & intimate setting in the heart of historic Old Montreal. Overall, The Keg delivers exactly what you'd expect - a satisfying & enjoyable meal in a pleasant atmosphere. The service was perfect, able to answer any questions regarding the menu. For the price we paid the food could be much more better than that. But overall I recommend the place. The dessert "crème brûlée" is definitely why I could go there again.View more

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ My recent experience at Vieux Port-Steakhouse was exceptional from start to finish. For appetizers, we enjoyed the calamari & the poutine-both perfectly prepared & full of flavor. The standout dish was my entrée: bacon-wrapped filet mignon served with creamy mashed potatoes. Every bite was a dream; the filet was incredibly tender & cooked to perfection, while the bacon added a wonderful smoky touch. Our waitress was simply outstanding, attentive, knowledgeable, & went above & beyond to make the experience memorable. One of the best places where you can get amazing steak & excellent service. Last time we went was last Monday after watching the solar eclipse. Food was amazing & service was like never before. The New York steak is the best especially when it is made Chicago style. It is one of a kind in Montreal. I highly recommend them.View more

Sat in the lounge Feb 15th for a 9pm reservation. I wish we remembered our server's name but he was wonderful! We were sat on time, in a booth, which I asked for in the reservation notes. $150 for rib steak, 14oz prime rib & sangria pitcher before tip. Quite pricey to me but I don't go to these type of places, I was given a gift card, so maybe that's on the cheap end of steakhouse prices? I'll leave that for you to decide. I'd definitely go back if given another gift card (or if I had the money to spare) & I must say it was the best steak I've ever eaten! Perfectly rare throughout, verging near blue rare close to the bone which is my preference. Their steak knives are incredibly dull though, pretty difficult to cut with. Sangria pitcher was huge & strong for the price. My partner liked the prime rib but said he preferred the steak I ordered- from trying the prime rib, it was a bit dry & I wouldn't really recommend it if you're craving steak. However it was the last of that size for the night, so it's probably better earlier in the day. The red wine sauce was great. Again, our server was absolutely fantastic & made sure the kitchen had the prime rib in the size we wanted. So in short, if you're comfortable with the price, I'd recommend this place.View more

5-Stars all round this was an amazing evening. Visited with work colleagues early Nov 23. Service was excellent. I really liked that the servers knew the menu & could recommend dishes. Main course I had the prime rib which is probably one of, if not best steak I have ever tasted. So beautifully cooked, great marbling & horseradish cleared my head. Thanks to the team. We went there as a big group, our waiter was the best honestly! I don’t remember his name nor is it on our receipts but he went above & beyond to make sure we were all seated at the table, gave recommendations & delivered with care! I took a New York au poivre, tasted amazing, fill of flavor & the potato was up to the expectations as well! I definitely recommend 😍
The only downside about this location is the parking availability… gotta make sure to be there at least 30 min before your reservation to find parking (on weekends)View more
