Outstanding food & a little bit lower price point than many of the other steakhouses in Old Montreall. Dark rooms very reminiscent of steakhouses in America so it provides a very cozy feel. Sound level was a little loud but we were there during Formula 1 weekend. We had a wonderful time & the food was fantastic.View more

Hands down the best Keg in Quebec! I've been to all of them, & the Old Port location is the clear winner.
I've been coming here for over 20 years, & the food & service have always been consistently excellent.
It's truly the best steakhouse-always delivers, & the prices are more than fair for the quality & service you get.
If you're visiting Montreal, this place is a must. Plus, there's plenty of paid parking nearby, which makes it even more convenient.View more

On a cold winter evening, strolling through picturesque Old Montreal, my beloved & I decided to pop into The Keg Steakhouse + Bar - Vieux Montreal at 25 Rue Saint-Paul E. The atmosphere of this place instantly enveloped us in warmth & coziness. Dimmed lights, stylish interior, the feeling of a true traditional bar - all of this created a unique ambiance.
We decided to warm up by ordering a couple of signature cocktails, & they were simply superb! But the real salvation from the winter chill was their signature soups. I enjoyed the rich & flavorful lobster bisque, while my companion preferred the classic French onion soup, which was also beyond praise.
At The Keg Steakhouse + Bar, you can not only enjoy excellent drinks but also sample dishes from their restaurant menu. This undoubtedly adds a special charm to the establishment. The service was top-notch; the waiter was attentive & friendly.
Overall, the evening was simply wonderful! The Keg Steakhouse + Bar - Vieux Montreal is the perfect place for those who want to spend time in a cozy atmosphere, enjoying delicious drinks & food.

This is a really nice steakhouse in the heart of Old Montreal. We just walked in on a busy night, the wait was 45 mins, but they took my number to text us when they were ready. Remembered me when we came back. The food was fast & fresh. We couldn't even try the dessert we got so stuffed. The escargot appetizer was terrific. However, while the flavor was spot-on, the presentation felt a bit standard - simply a steak & mashed potatoes on a white plate, lacking a touch of visual flair. This minor detail aside, the rest of the experience was quite enjoyable. Our server was attentive, quickly refilling our water glasses & offering helpful suggestions from the wine list, making us feel well-cared for throughout the meal. The restaurant has a charming ambiance, with exposed brick walls & dim lighting that creates a cozy & intimate setting in the heart of historic Old Montreal. Le Keg Steakhouse, C'est un bon steakhouse pour y passer une soirée entre amis ou en couple. Resto Bar & écrans pour regarder les matches de sports prendre un bon cocktail. L'accueil chaleureux des hôtes & l'ambiance du reto bar vous invite à venir & de passer une agréable soirée. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ My recent experience at Vieux Port-Steakhouse was exceptional from start to finish. For appetizers, we enjoyed the calamari & the poutine-both perfectly prepared & full of flavor. The standout dish was my entrée: bacon-wrapped filet mignon served with creamy mashed potatoes. Every bite was a dream; the filet was incredibly tender & cooked to perfection, while the bacon added a wonderful smoky touch. Our waitress was simply outstanding, attentive, knowledgeable, & went above & beyond to make the experience memorable. KEG is a chain store steakhouse but with a quality 2-3 notches better than the other Canadian top steakhouse. There are four stores in Montreal, & I tried two. I also tried one in Ottawa. Best quality & consistent. Everything you need, nothing you don't. I tried Jacob's dry aged in Toronto. The pretentiousness at Jacob's leaves a pretty negative impression, while KEG makes me feel that everything is just right. I will keep coming back.View more

Very slow service - waited over half an hour to get our apéritifs & then starters came straight after & before the wine. Steaks were ok - nothing special & chips were past their best - warm & soggy. Generally disappointing& all round average. They need more staff & I expect a steakhouse to do better with their steaks.View more

Sat in the lounge Feb 15th for a 9pm reservation. I wish we remembered our server's name but he was wonderful! We were sat on time, in a booth, which I asked for in the reservation notes. $150 for rib steak, 14oz prime rib & sangria pitcher before tip. Quite pricey to me but I don't go to these type of places, I was given a gift card, so maybe that's on the cheap end of steakhouse prices? I'll leave that for you to decide. I'd definitely go back if given another gift card (or if I had the money to spare) & I must say it was the best steak I've ever eaten! Perfectly rare throughout, verging near blue rare close to the bone which is my preference. Their steak knives are incredibly dull though, pretty difficult to cut with. Sangria pitcher was huge & strong for the price. My partner liked the prime rib but said he preferred the steak I ordered- from trying the prime rib, it was a bit dry & I wouldn't really recommend it if you're craving steak. However it was the last of that size for the night, so it's probably better earlier in the day. The red wine sauce was great. Again, our server was absolutely fantastic & made sure the kitchen had the prime rib in the size we wanted. So in short, if you're comfortable with the price, I'd recommend this place.View more
