It was our first day in Montreal & we decided to visit this hidden speakeasy. We loved the experience from the very first moment. The place has an incredible atmosphere, with warm lighting & a very special vibe that makes it perfect for having a drink & enjoying things at a relaxed pace.
The snack we ordered was much better than we expected, & the drinks were very well crafted, both in flavor & presentation.
Without a doubt, it was an excellent way to start our trip in Montreal.

A truly hidden gem to find in old town Montreal. Behind a hidden unmarked door is a fab cocktail bar speakeasy style. Ring the bell & wait to be collected & you will discover a hidden cocktail bar with a hidden exit too. Defo worth a visit & a memorable place to go. Great to meet another brit working there, thanks for the travel tips Jake.

Highly recommend going here. We are here for the weekend. It was a little hard to find at first hence speakeasy but overall great drinks, great service, & an awesome atmosphere.

We went right at opening & got a table right away as we were the first ones there but it filled up very quickly, which speaks to its popularity! It has a nice atmosphere with speakeasy vibes as the bar is in the basement. The drinks were good but very strong. The menu also had fun characters with drink vibes which added to the experience. The entrance was it a bit confusing though as we thought the exit door which faces the street (Rue St. Paul) was the entrance.

Such a great space with delicious cocktails & an awesome speakeasy vibe! Cocktail bars can often feel pretentious, but the staff & atmosphere at The Coldroom made me feel so comfortable. Jeanne was the absolute best bartender I've ever had at a cocktail bar, so friendly & sweet! I'll definitely be coming back!

Really cool place to have a drink. A proper speakeasy style of bar with the door just being an emergency exit with no signage. Great signature cocktails & a huge range of Whisky's available.

I've visited this place twice already. The first time was with my boyfriend-we sat at the bar & had an amazing time. The second time, I went with my family, & they loved the cocktails. The service wasn't as good during our second visit, as I had to get up & ask for water for the table, but I understand-it was very busy.
This is truly a speakeasy. The entrance looks like a regular exit door: no name, just a ring, which I found fun, since the whole point of a speakeasy is that it's hard to find. Once they open the door, you go down the stairs & enter the bar through another door that almost looks like a cold-room door.
The place is simple, with brick walls, but they serve some of the most amazing cocktails I've tried in Montreal. The menu is adorable, with duck illustrations & well-detailed descriptions. My favorite drinks were Death Mark, Rice to Meet You, Internal Affairs, & Joe Peachi.
I'll definitely come back on my next trip to Montreal.
