The atmosphere set the perfect mood to unwind, & the mixology cocktails were exceptional - thoughtfully crafted & beautifully balanced. We truly fell in love with this place & would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a great cocktail experience.
Love the ambiance. The exposed brick & wood beams were inspiring (for my own house). Amazing & unusual drinks with a relaxed atmosphere. Would highly recommend - it is a Montreal must-see & experience.
Highly recommended. If you go Mon-Thu, it will be less busy. Drinks from menu are great! The bar tenders are highly attentive to detail & service. The only reason for they are not getting 5 starts from me (someone extremely picky when it comes to the hospitality industry), I ordered a gin & tonic after ordering some of their amazing drinks from the menu, & the g&t wasn't what I had hopped for.
FYI, best g&t I have ever had are served in the Basque Country.
Beautiful little hidden gem, with old beautiful details. It's one of a kind cocktails experience, a must have. They ask you questions about our tastes, then they crate a mix for you. We loved every drink. I highly recommend
I'm visiting Montreal for the first time & had a fantastic experience at the Coldroom. The drinks were delicious, & most importantly, our server Lilie was excellent & made sure we had an enjoyable experience. Lilie had tailored cocktail recommendations for each of us & also provided helpful information about Montreal. I highly recommend getting a cocktail at the Coldroom, but make sure you ask for Lilie!
The Coldroom provides a great speakeasy experience! Drinks were delicious & quite complex tasting. We had the following drinks: Rice to Meet You, The Musket & The Cold fashion. The mixiologists were great & very friendly! My partner also got a hoodie to remember the experience! I highly recommend you to go, ring the bell & wait a bit! It'll be worth your while!
Keep your eyes open for the duck above the door outside, ring the door bell & you're suddenly transported to a prohibition era speakeasy. The cocktail list & whiskey selection are intricate & well crafted. Whether at the bar counter or at a table, the service is always fantastic & we always have a good time with the staff.
There is usually a wait list especially on weekends but that's to be expected. It also gets pretty warm down in the basement during the summer which could be uncomfortable for some.
Make sure to try the severely underated grilled cheese with bourbon butter!
Overall this is my favourite bar to recommend to friends & tourists. It's one of the best bars in Montreal, you won't be disappointed!
The cold room is an amazing experience with the best staff. I can't recommend this place enough.
Ordered Joe Peachi, shotgun wedding which was really good. Espresso Martini was terrible & so was the service . The server gave us an attitude since the moment we sat down & kept waiting for us to finish our drink faster & leave the table. By the end, her behaviour went worse. Recommended for drinks or dates but service is poor.
My experience at the Cold Room speakeasy in Old Montreal was nothing short of phenomenal. This hidden gem consistently exceeds my expectations, making each visit a memorable one. From the moment you step inside, the ambiance envelops you in a warm, inviting atmosphere that perfectly blends vintage charm with modern flair. The dim lighting, plush seating, & thoughtfully curated decor create an intimate setting that feels both exclusive & welcoming. The drinks are where Cold Room truly shines. Each cocktail is skillfully crafted with meticulous attention to detail & a clear passion for mixology. I highly recommend trying their signature Cold Fashion; it's a delightful twist on the classic old-fashioned that showcases their innovative approach to cocktail making. The balance of flavors is impeccable, making each sip a true pleasure. The service at Cold Room is equally superb. The staff is knowledgeable, attentive, & genuinely enthusiastic about the offerings, adding to the overall enjoyment of your visit. Whether you're a cocktail connoisseur or simply looking for a cozy spot to unwind, Cold Room delivers top-notch experiences every time.
This was the first speakeasy I've been too & I love the concept. The entrance is super cool & discreet, you just need to be patient for someone to let you in. The atmosphere & lighting were perfect & the server was very helpful. We were looking forward to trying the grilled cheese as well, but the person wasn't there to make them, maybe next time! My mocktail tasted great though, definitely recommend checking this place out.
Millie & the entire staff made us feel welcomed & the service was on point. The drinks were unique & the vibes were high. Highly recommend
The place was tricky to found but thanks to someone's review we found it. It's a hidden gem in Montreal & an experience. Highly recommend going there.
LOVED the vibe & the secretive nature of this place! If you're looking for the duck, you won't see it unless it's dark outside, so look for the button (pictured). I really enjoyed my drink & the ambience, & the service was fairly pleasant, but there was a tiny bit of a weird smell that was a little off-putting. I would definitely recommend & return.
