Really cool place to have a drink. A proper speakeasy style of bar with the door just being an emergency exit with no signage. Great signature cocktails & a huge range of Whisky's available.
We LOVE The Coldroom! We brought a group of our friends here on Saturday night (who do not live in Montreal) & they absolutely adored the space. The drinks are amazing, the ambiance is a vibe, & the staff are so kind, accommodating, & always ready to make a recommendation.
We can't wait to come back & enjoy some more cocktails!
I've visited this place twice already. The first time was with my boyfriend-we sat at the bar & had an amazing time. The second time, I went with my family, & they loved the cocktails. The service wasn't as good during our second visit, as I had to get up & ask for water for the table, but I understand-it was very busy.
This is truly a speakeasy. The entrance looks like a regular exit door: no name, just a ring, which I found fun, since the whole point of a speakeasy is that it's hard to find. Once they open the door, you go down the stairs & enter the bar through another door that almost looks like a cold-room door.
The place is simple, with brick walls, but they serve some of the most amazing cocktails I've tried in Montreal. The menu is adorable, with duck illustrations & well-detailed descriptions. My favorite drinks were Death Mark, Rice to Meet You, Internal Affairs, & Joe Peachi.
I'll definitely come back on my next trip to Montreal.
Came as a recommendation from the chefs at Le Mousso & we weren't let down. Fantastic atmosphere, great drinks, & Jackson behind the bar was super friendly & personable. Do everything you can to keep him there; first-rate bartender.
Fun experience. Just ring the doorbell outside & someone will come guide you downstairs. They don't have much in the way of food so we didn't bother eating but the drinks were great, they are a little pricy but it's a great experience so it was worth it. It's not a very big place so it would likely be hard to get into on a busy night but we had no trouble getting in & seated right away.
The entrance was admittedly a little hard to find as it was an inconspicuous black door tucked away in the corner that required guests to be buzzed in. That aside, The Coldroom was an excellent speakeasy with cozy atmosphere topped up with great drinks that all add up to shape the perfect night.
Great atmosphere & decor & even better cocktails! We went early in the evening & there'd clearly been a flurry of arrivals right before us so our first drinks did take a wee while but they were well worth the wait. Second drinks were much quicker. Tried 4 different cocktails between us & they were all really excellent. Didn't eat so can't comment on food.

Very cool hidden bar at the old port of Mot real! Cute & creative menu- the bartender made me a drink which was not on the menu after asking what I liked- it was absolutely delicious & worth it! Great atmosphere underground with vintage style decor.
Love the ambiance. The exposed brick & wood beams were inspiring (for my own house). Amazing & unusual drinks with a relaxed atmosphere. Would highly recommend - it is a Montreal must-see & experience.
Très beau speakeasy. L'entrée est un cachée ce qui est attendue pour un lieu de ce genre. Le bar semble avoir été aménagé dans un endroit qui semble avoir été un ancier réfrigérateur, ce qui ajoute à l'expérience. Le service est très courtois. La variété de drinks est complète & les prix abordable. Fais intéressant, on sort par une autre porte que l'arrivée ce qui fait qu'on est légèrement désorienté en arrivant au grand air!
We visited Cold Room Speakeasy on Friday after having an amazing experience with Sarah at el Pequeno. We came to Cold Room just to be served by her again, even tho she was a hostess she did not disappoint. Despite the long line & impatient guests, Sarah was warm, welcoming, & made sure we were well taken care of.
The drinks were fantastic expertly crafted & definitely worth the visit.
The only downside was our server, Lilie, who came off as rude & arrogant, which was a bit of a letdown.
Cold Room is definitely worth checking out, especially for the drinks & Sarah's hospitality!
