The three thin slices of pork belly were well cooked & tasty. The main course should have been the highlight as it was the rarely available Chilean Sea Bass. The tiny, a quarter pound.or less, piece of fish was totally overwhelmed by a robust Mediterranean sauce. The sauce was tasty but the very expensive piece of fish could have been any well cooked white fish. The fries were not as good as they used to be - standard oven fries available at any supermarket.
I had high hopes but was disappointed. At this price range I expected my main course to arrive after I finished my appetizers. The main was luke warm & way too expensive for wath it was. I don't think I will go back
Great cocktails, so many specials on top of the fantastic menu every night & a downtown vibe. Mixed grill sharing plate is a must!
Amazing restaurant with the best atmosphere & tastiest food. Highly recommend to anyone in the West Island area, a gem of a restaurant! Jess is also amazing, great server & bartender 😊 Will definitely be back!
The server was very nice but all of the tables next to us on the patio had not been cleared so not the best ambience. It would have taken 2 mins to clear up the mess. 1. The clam chowder came out brown & cold the first time - 2nd time it was white, creamy & hot & was actually quite nice. 2. The salmon tartare had no flavour & was on a base of watery guacamole that looked like it came out of a package 3. The tuna tartare was tasty but the fish looked like it had been cut with a blunt knife or put through a blender. The octopus was actually quite nice. So 1 out of 4 dishes made for a pretty dissapointing meal. To finish the night off a local drunk got kicked out of the restaurant & proceeded to run up & down main with bare feet - which was the highlight of the night.
I had the pleasure of working with Jessica, the manager at Tawerna Raw Bar & Plancha, to organize my husband's 60th birthday party. From the start, Jessica exceeded every expectation, coming back the same day with a custom menu for 14 people that perfectly captured my vision. She listened to every detail & delivered an experience that was absolutely perfect. The chefs at Tawerna did an outstanding job-the food was not only delicious but also beautifully presented. The entire staff was accommodating & helpful, making sure everything ran smoothly. Jessica's quick responses & attention to detail made the whole process stress-free. Tawerna is a true gem in Hudson Village, & I highly recommend Jessica & her team for your next event!
The seafood platter for two... chef's kiss. Right mix of lean & fatty meats, enough to satisfy even a hug appetite(s). I found the lobster tails a little small for my liking, but the flavour more than makes up for it. Yet another Hudson gem.
I gave this restaurant a second chance last night. Unfortunately I didn't enjoy it, again. 5:30 seating when it was quieter which was good & not too many people, thought the service would be better but it was mediocre. I still have trouble understanding why sides are not included with the main dish like every other restaurant. This increases the price substantially. Money grab. 6 little strips of dry tuna with a side of carrots for about $51 was ridiculous. Server didn't come around much. So much ice in my drink I couldn't enjoy my cocktail...the bathroom was disgusting & dirty. There were spots on the toilet seat & in the sink like someone had puked. Although I don't sit directly on public toilet seats, I took paper towel to clean off their toilet seat before I applied layers of toilet paper on it in order to do my business. Dirty paper towels on the floor, it as gross. They forgot to design a proper bathroom in their concept. Ordered a Ricky bobby drink & never got it, 25 minutes for my friends to get their desserts. They had finished their teas when the desserts arrived. Table was sticky all over & not clean. I would not go back. I gave two chances to be fair but my experience was not a good one.
One of my favourite meals in a long time. Oysters were some of the best I've had in a while. Meat plate was cooked to perfection. Dinner was absolutely fantastic. Whole family enjoyed very much!

Première fois hier au Taverna & non la dernière, nous étions un groupe alors nous avons eu un menu de groupe, toutes étaient vraiment bon & mes amis ont tous aimés aussi !! Le service était parfait, le personnel souriant & gentil , belle ambiance & bonne musique , c'est sur que j'y retourne pour essayer d'autre plats !! Merci pour cette belle soirée !!
Amazing decor, very warm & stylish. Everything on the menu looks good. We ordered lobster poutine & tuna tartare & it was delicious. The only only thing we have to comment about is the music... too much. Too busy. Not even too loud - even if it was loud, but too stressful for a dinner. More suited for a club & dancing. There is so much good music & good vibes out there. It was just not playing here tonight.
Unfortunately I have to give a bad review to Taverna. First time last night, was looking forward to it all week, especially after hearing so much hype from others. However I was VERY disappointed in the quality of the food. I ordered the salmon tartare which came with their « homemade guacamole ». My husband ordered the lobster poutine. Surprisingly it came quite quickly, under 15 min, which was suspicious given the time it would take to make fries, prepare fresh lobster, & prepare a tartare.... My guacamole was BROWN. Like muddy green brown. Looked like it was 4-5 days old. I asked 2 servers if it was supposed to be like that as being a guac addict, i know well that not only is guac supposed to be VIBRANT GREEN but also brown=not fresh. First server basically brushed me off saying yeah yeah. 2nd had a worried face & went to ask the chef. (points to her) She returned saying yes, as it is mixed with a brown tamari sauce..... It didnt taste bad, salmon was fresh, however after googling « Guacamole with Tamari sauce », my suspicions were validated : GUAC IS STILL SUPPOSED TO BE GREEN! So not only do I believe they literally lied to me, they served a customer days-old brown-ass guac & tried to pass it off as « its mixed with brown sauce ». Husband also had 4 pieces of shell in his lobster poutine... Went home -60$ out, very hungry but no appetite. The only positives was that young 2nd waitress & my wine was chilled. Never going back. Sad...
Absolutely delicious food, beautiful atmosphere & good music. must try the Peruvian chicken with aji & the stuffed olives . Can't ask for better food & very friendly service too. Thanks so much!
We Just Love Taverna, this is one our most favorite places in the region, the dishes they prepare are delicious, light & thoughtful! The drinks are scrumptious, fresh & unique. The Madison spritz is the best cocktail ever. The staff are attentive, polite & thoughtful. If you are looking for a cozy night out, don't hesitate to make a reservation! 🥰🌅

It's a great place to be. The food is excellent! Dinner party or date night, really any occasions you won't be disappointed! Great team, always there to please the customers.
Surprenant comme endroit & de son décor sobre. Resto fait en L ressemblant à un ancien snack bar modernisé. Capacité d'environ 30 personnes. La playlist musicale était excellente bien que le volume un peu trop fort. Je donne un 5 étoiles pour le service car la serveuse était continuellement disponible pour notre groupe de 15 avec un beau sourire. J'ai commandé un streak-frite qui m'a laissé bouche-bé à la réception de mon assiette ( voir la photo ). Les frites bien que délicieuses, elles étaient collées. Heureusement qu'il y avait des entrées de prévues avant le plat principale ( voir les photos ). Le service comportait 3 plats pour 5 personnes ( poutine aux gnocchis, je vous reviens pour les deux autres. Ma blonde avait commandé un steak seignant mais trop cuit. La cuisinière est venue lui apportez le petit morceau de steak selon sa cuisson & j'ai hérité du morceau trop cuit. J'aimerais que l'on m'explique le concept de la grosseur du morceau de viande qui a sûrement sa raison d'être. Le choix des desserts est exquis & somptueux au goût de chacun ( voir la photo). Ils ont un grand choix de boissons alcoolisées & j'ai mis notre choix de vin sans aucun regret. Est-ce que je recommande ce resto?....OUI Bonne découverte à vous tous
