All time favorite sushi place. Been going for at least 15+ years & they never disappoint! It’s truly a hidden gem. 10/10 would recommend to anyone!
I have been going to this sushi place for over 20 years. Just recently went back & it’s as amazing as it’s always been. Food is fantastic, great prices & variety. All freshly made on-site in front of you. Service is great. Very friendly staff. The place was full as per usual. I highly recommend.
Very wonderful sushi & enjoyed this beef & foie Gras combo! We also had uni/sea urchin here & it was the best I've had since my last trip to Japan.

A well kept secret:
One of the most authentic Japanese restaurants in the Montreal area. It takes some curiosity & a good deal of temerity to discover this gem of a sushi restaurant, buried in an anonymous parking lot of the Boulevard Rome. But the trip is highly rewarding! You find yourself in a true Japanese enclave in the South Bank. No wonder if, for prominent Japanese visitors, Montreal has two genuine sushi addresses, the outstanding but expensive Jun-I, & here. It is also my opinion. The all-Japanese ownership & cooks make sure that you will be served the freshest fish sashimi, & sushi offer the uncompromising Japanese taste & quality, that no other sushi bar in Montreal, else than Jun-I can match. Other Japanese dishes are of the same level.
Prices are reasonable, providing for a nonpareil value for money. Although simple, the decor & atmosphere are friendly & comfortable.
Highly recommended

I have visited the restaurant on many occasions. Having lived in Asia for several years, I have always been satisfied with the quality & authenticity of the food. The taste & presentation indicate that the chefs take pride in their business. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same about the servers, most of whom leave a great deal to be desired. Though there are one or two exceptions, most of them do not greet you upon entering. In fact, they ask quite rudely if you have a reservation. Not very welcoming. Through the rest of the service, they are not particularly polite or courteous, & you are made to feel as if you are fortunate just to have been given a table. When observing their interaction with other customers, I get the impression that I am not the only one who feels this way. They are unapologetic when things go wrong, & at times, they almost seem to be rushing people out. They are unable / unwilling to answer relevant questions about the food. I have also seen two of them loudly disparage customers when speaking to each other in Cantonese.
In terms of the food, I cannot get enough. In terms of the attitude of some of servers, I have seen more than enough. I will continue to go to Yasu - for takeout.

Best sushi resto in the South Shore!! The sushi is fresh & delicious! The service is fast & polite. I will definitely go back there often.

Yesterday around 1pm, we went to this restaurant in Brossard for lunch with good intention & happiness due to a special occasion: my birthday. Unfortunately, the waitress had ruined it all. After we entered the restaurant, the waitress showed us where to sit. We felt the table was too small & there were plenty of other tables since it was already 1pm. Therefore, we asked her if we could change to another table which was a little bigger & more comfortable to eat. She told us no. We pointed it out why "one" guy beside us can have a table for 4 persons & other 2 guys can have a table for 4 persons. We are 2 & why squeeze into a tiny table beside the main entrance, while there are plenty of other bigger & more comfortable tables left. She refused us again. We feel like dummy & not been respectful by this Chinese waitress. So we quitted instead of arguing back. I feel sad because we have been there for several times & find it was nice cook. I don't want to be rough. In now days, the restaurant is not easy to be survived. Good reputation is based on good cooking & fine customer service. Everyone who come in for lunch/dinner are customers. They are deserved to be treated nicely & equally no matter how much money they spend on nor which ethnic they are. They are just people who want to have to a warm place & enjoy a fine cook with friends or family. I am not saying that all customers are always right or nice behaved but, you should always be taking care of them & try to find a solution in respectful manner.

I love this restaurant so much. Foods quality is always stable & service is very good as well.
Compare to other a la carte Japanese restaurant, the price is reasonable.
If you like sweet stuffs, try their Futomaki. It’s sooooo good!!
