No more authentic Japanese quality !!
The sushi quality went so bad now.
This place was one of the best authentic Japanese sushi place but I think the owner has changed recently.
Too much rice with a tiny amount of sashimi inside. Very dissapointed for my family dinner .

We like coming to the place, they have solid quality of sushi & a hearty Japanese pancake. What we wish is their hospitality to be improved, it's a Japanese restaurant, after all. Apparently in the end, they wanted us to finish & leave asap, & we could understand that. But the manner in which a waiter expressed her request was nothing close to Japanese cultural code. She threw her torso on the table & started grabbing plates & utensils, mumbling in the end that the next reservation is up… this kind of spoiled the impression from the food. We hope that it was just an unfortunate accident.

If you are looking to get great sushi, no nonsense & no small chit chat from its wait staff, this is the place for you. The place is jam packed with patrons when we got there on a weekend at 6 p.m. The smart thing to do is make reservations ahead of time & you can access that through their web site. No reservations would result in a long wait.
We were seated immediately when we got in on the dot. The menu is extensive & the prices are reasonable. We opted to add the extra add-on to the entree for an additional $9.00. The add-on menu comes with a salad of your choice, an appetizer of your choice, & dessert after your entree is served.
The sunomono salad is lovely & the miso soup is silky & delicious. We tried the agedashi tofu, the vegetable tempura, & the croquette. We had initially wanted to try the pork & shrimp spring roll but they were sold out. Not disappointing as the other appetizers are delicious & in generous portions.
The chirashi bowls are beautifully presented & the selection of fish is very fresh. The sushi platter is also very nicely displayed & scrumptious.
We ended our meals with ice-cream.
Definitely worth another visit since the food quality is wonderful. The wait staff could be a tad friendlier but understandable that they just want the customers to just eat & go. Go check them out.

Customer service needs to be improved in this restaurant. Upon arrival, it took 5 minutes to be greeted by a server who asked if we had made a reservation. When we said no reservation, she told us that we had to wait for 30 minutes or longer. Then we decided to order a takeout of sushi & maki combo for 2 people. Food was nothing special, just ordinary. There are better places to eat good quality sushi in Montreal.

Sushi Yasu left much to be desired. The service lacked empathy & felt cold, making the whole experience unwelcoming, rushing our orders just making us feel like we gotta finish it asap. Food quality was average at best, nothing stood out or justified the hype.
The combo promised & didn't deliver the flavours & mix, just plain rice & veggiess someone who truly supports local businesses, it's disappointing to say I won't be returning. It simply doesn't earn more than 3 stars in my book.

I don't think there's a restaurant we've been to more often than this place in the last 6 months!
Much better quality than most places we've been in on the island of Montreal. It's very family-friendly & everything is tasty. You can indulge with some fatty belly tuna or wagyu without it feeling too fancy or pretentious.

I had the pleasure of dining at Yasu Sushi in Brossard, & I must say, the food is absolutely top-notch! The quality of the sushi is unparalleled, with the fish being incredibly fresh & flavorful. Each piece is prepared with care, & you can taste the attention to detail in every bite. The variety of rolls is impressive, offering both classic options & unique creations that cater to all tastes. The service is friendly & attentive, making for an all-around fantastic dining experience. If you're a sushi lover or simply in the mood for high-quality Japanese food, Yasu Sushi is the place to go. Fantastic restaurant that I have been to countless times. Each & every time, the food was delicious & the service was friendly both during lunch times & dinner times. The food does get pricey for dinner, especially if you plan to only eat sushi, but I believe the quality is worth the price. Lunch time is a lot more affordable & still offers a decent selection.

Best sushi joint in the area, in a little gem of a strip mall. Staff are polite, & the sushi is of a good quality. They also have Quebec sea urchin from Rimouski, which is special.

Excellent quality & service! This is my first choice for sushi & sashimi on the South Shore! Be sure to reserve in advance if you go on weekends, because it's almost always packed.

1 hour & a half wait time & the sushi was good but quality has gotten worse throughout the years. Wish they would prioritize the people actually dining in the restaurant over the take out orders.

A well kept secret:
One of the most authentic Japanese restaurants in the Montreal area. It takes some curiosity & a good deal of temerity to discover this gem of a sushi restaurant, buried in an anonymous parking lot of the Boulevard Rome. But the trip is highly rewarding! You find yourself in a true Japanese enclave in the South Bank. No wonder if, for prominent Japanese visitors, Montreal has two genuine sushi addresses, the outstanding but expensive Jun-I, & here. It is also my opinion. The all-Japanese ownership & cooks make sure that you will be served the freshest fish sashimi, & sushi offer the uncompromising Japanese taste & quality, that no other sushi bar in Montreal, else than Jun-I can match. Other Japanese dishes are of the same level.
Prices are reasonable, providing for a nonpareil value for money. Although simple, the decor & atmosphere are friendly & comfortable.

I have visited the restaurant on many occasions. Having lived in Asia for several years, I have always been satisfied with the quality & authenticity of the food. The taste & presentation indicate that the chefs take pride in their business. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same about the servers, most of whom leave a great deal to be desired. Though there are one or two exceptions, most of them do not greet you upon entering. In fact, they ask quite rudely if you have a reservation. Not very welcoming. Through the rest of the service, they are not particularly polite or courteous, & you are made to feel as if you are fortunate just to have been given a table. When observing their interaction with other customers, I get the impression that I am not the only one who feels this way. They are unapologetic when things go wrong, & at times, they almost seem to be rushing people out. They are unable / unwilling to answer relevant questions about the food. I have also seen two of them loudly disparage customers when speaking to each other in Cantonese.
In terms of the food, I cannot get enough. In terms of the attitude of some of servers, I have seen more than enough. I will continue to go to Yasu - for takeout.

I love this restaurant so much. Foods quality is always stable & service is very good as well.
Compare to other a la carte Japanese restaurant, the price is reasonable.
If you like sweet stuffs, try their Futomaki. It’s sooooo good!!
