1 hour & a half wait time & the sushi was good but quality has gotten worse throughout the years. Wish they would prioritize the people actually dining in the restaurant over the take out orders.Voir plus
Sushi was good as usual. Great service. However, there is a change in the ice cream, which is not as flavourful & tasty as before!Voir plus
Yasu has always been our go to for close to 15 years. We respect the old & newer gen of owners. Sushi is not as good as it used to be but still our go to for sushi with no nonsense & fanfare. Good slices of fish & fresh but rice is not always as good as could be. Anything scallop is very good too there. One of our fav! Love that they serve Rimouski uni. Small but still good! Let's face it. Not too many good sushi options in La Belle Province. There are a lot of funky sushi in trendy sushi bars doused in sweet sauce, filled cream cheese aberation & fruits but more "traditional" tasting sushi is rare to find. Sushi is also pricey in Mtl :( So me know if you know any good in between Park & Yasu!Voir plus
I had the bento box & inside were the best sushi & tempura I have ever tasted!!! The price was also super affordable for everthing 🥰💗👌✨️Voir plus
The best Japanese restaurant in the Great Montreal area. They have 2 kitchen areas, one for hot food & another for sushi.Voir plus
Went with friends. We ordered a lot that I didn't take photos of. Everything was fresh & at a good price. Service was prompt & top notch. Not a bad selection of sakes. Must go.Voir plus
I was surprised by how everything was so good! I tried a uni seafood bowl & it tasted so fresh, did not taste fishy at all!Voir plus
Probably THE best Sushi place in the whole Metropolitain Montreal Area.
Always some fantastic new arrivals on the menu. The rice is always impeccable.Toro Tuna with Sea Urchin hand roll was " roll your eyeballs" good.Voir plus
Very good food, real takoyaki, & sushi prepared fresh by real japanese chefs in front of you. Their specialty seems to be tuna & uni, which is creamy & tastes fresh. however, service was slow; they seemed to have too many orders coming from ubereats/phone.
I recommend the tuna, salmon, teriyaki beef.
Prices were actually very cheap for what we're getting, could easily fill your belly on sushi alone if you stay away from the premium uni.
All time favorite sushi place. Been going for at least 15+ years & they never disappoint! It’s truly a hidden gem. 10/10 would recommend to anyone!
Very good sushi, always fresh! Soya sauce a bit too salty.Voir plus
I have been going to this sushi place for over 20 years. Just recently went back & it’s as amazing as it’s always been. Food is fantastic, great prices & variety. All freshly made on-site in front of you. Service is great. Very friendly staff. The place was full as per usual. I highly recommend.Voir plus
Very wonderful sushi & enjoyed this beef & foie Gras combo! We also had uni/sea urchin here & it was the best I've had since my last trip to Japan.Voir plus
A well kept secret:
One of the most authentic Japanese restaurants in the Montreal area. It takes some curiosity & a good deal of temerity to discover this gem of a sushi restaurant, buried in an anonymous parking lot of the Boulevard Rome. But the trip is highly rewarding! You find yourself in a true Japanese enclave in the South Bank. No wonder if, for prominent Japanese visitors, Montreal has two genuine sushi addresses, the outstanding but expensive Jun-I, & here. It is also my opinion. The all-Japanese ownership & cooks make sure that you will be served the freshest fish sashimi, & sushi offer the uncompromising Japanese taste & quality, that no other sushi bar in Montreal, else than Jun-I can match. Other Japanese dishes are of the same level.
Prices are reasonable, providing for a nonpareil value for money. Although simple, the decor & atmosphere are friendly & comfortable.
Highly recommended
I have visited the restaurant on many occasions. Having lived in Asia for several years, I have always been satisfied with the quality & authenticity of the food. The taste & presentation indicate that the chefs take pride in their business. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same about the servers, most of whom leave a great deal to be desired. Though there are one or two exceptions, most of them do not greet you upon entering. In fact, they ask quite rudely if you have a reservation. Not very welcoming. Through the rest of the service, they are not particularly polite or courteous, & you are made to feel as if you are fortunate just to have been given a table. When observing their interaction with other customers, I get the impression that I am not the only one who feels this way. They are unapologetic when things go wrong, & at times, they almost seem to be rushing people out. They are unable / unwilling to answer relevant questions about the food. I have also seen two of them loudly disparage customers when speaking to each other in Cantonese.
In terms of the food, I cannot get enough. In terms of the attitude of some of servers, I have seen more than enough. I will continue to go to Yasu - for takeout.
