Siamo Noi is an absolute gem at Royalmount & already my favourite Italian restaurant in Montreal.
The space is stunning: beautiful, elegant, & full of energy. but, the real highlight is the food. Not pretentious or overly complicated; it is simply exceptional Italian cooking, executed perfectly.
The funghi pasta is the best I have ever had. Every dish feels thoughtful, balanced, & prepared with incredible attention to detail.
You can immediately see the professionalism & experience of the team behind Buona notte. The service, atmosphere, & execution are all at an extremely high level.
Siamo Noi is easily one of Montreal's new must-visit restaurants. Absolutely outstanding.
Siamo Noi is the type of place where you leave speechless. Words can't describe the culinary experience this gem offers to montreals well known nightlife. The atmosphere, the decor, the service THE MANAGEMENT! Wow is all I can say. But the real gem is the mastermind behind it all chef Marco ...truly montreals top masters & just delivers you a burst of freshness & joy, if you need to impress or need a perfect night out...please do yourself the favour & go to SIAMO NOI!
Comment dire, un restaurant italien un peu trop cher, mais avec des plats tres gouteux! J affectionne leur pizza a la mortadelle & pistache. Cependant notre service fut tres lents malgre le peu de d achalandage. Le restaurant est magnifique tres cossus, mais vieilli vite. Les menus sont deja tous grafignes & collants. Une place utile si vous etes un gros groupe. Le tiramisu monte a la table est une belle experience. Mais pour de la nourriture traditionnelle italienne, le prix est tres haut.
Despite its ambitions, this new establishment falls short of the benchmarks set by Sfoglina, Cipriani, or even (closer to home) Holder. The physical space is lovely, & the welcome is genuinely warm, the thoughtful addition of small stools for handbags is an excellent touch. Unfortunately, the front-of-house execution is undermined by fussy, uneven service & inconsistent cuisine.
The Food
The menu is a mixed experience. The starters ranged from average to poor. The seafood crudo was particularly disappointing: while the salmon was pleasant, the tuna lacked texture & flavour, & the scallops were entirely bland. The waiter's instruction that the chef suggested a squeeze of lemon felt less like culinary guidance & more like an admission that the dish required emergency seasoning. The pomodoro salad tasted of standard supermarket tomatoes, & the octopus was okay.
Mains, however, showed potential. The steak was excellent, & the accompanying asparagus was expertly prepared. The branzino, by contrast, was entirely unmemorable.
The Service & Ambience
The primary issue lies with the service. The waitstaff appear to be caught between a rigid, overly fussy training brief & a complete lack of basic product knowledge. Our waiter could not explain what distinguished the house Siamo Noi Negroni from a standard recipe (it tasted identical), & he offered no useful insight into the menu or the wine list.
The service is further marred by bizarre affectations. Presentation of a box of specialized knives for an ostensibly tender steak felt pretentious rather than premium-an unnecessary theatrical flourish that missed the mark.
Ultimately, the restaurant is struggling against its own pretension. It would benefit immensely from relaxing its posture, focusing on rigorous staff training, & ensuring the kitchen matches the standards of its best dishes.
Verdict: Skip this one for now until the management irons out the service flaws.
I really wanted to give this place 5 stars because the food was absolutely delicious & the atmosphere was lovely. Our server was also fantastic-attentive, friendly, & provided great service throughout our meal.
?However, the experience ended on a terrible note. At the very end of our night, the manager literally kicked us out. It was incredibly unprofessional & ruined what was otherwise a perfect evening. I would give the food & staff 5 stars, but management gets a 1-star for making us feel so unwelcome at the end. Proceed with caution.
Le service était correct, mais plusieurs frais nous ont été facturés sans être clairement expliqués. Nous avons demandé de l'eau ordinaire (eau du robinet), mais le serveur nous a apporté une bouteille d'eau minérale qui a ensuite été ajoutée à la facture pour 11 $, sans nous informer du coût au préalable.
De plus, une focaccia nous a été servie alors que nous ne l'avions pas demandée, & elle a également été facturée.
Concernant les pâtes, le menu indiquait la présence de truffe. Avant de commander, nous avons demandé confirmation au serveur, qui nous a assuré qu'il y en avait. Une fois le plat servi, il n'y avait pourtant aucune truffe. Lorsque nous avons posé la question, on nous a répondu qu'il s'agissait finalement d'un supplément payant.
Ce qui nous déçoit le plus, c'est que nous avons recommandé ce restaurant à de nombreuses personnes, y compris à des gens venant de l'extérieur de Montréal.
