Always a great experience with our parties & events. Our company has never had such great time. Food was amazing & the ambiance was perfect.
I decided to revisit this place since I hadn't been in a long time. This is a great upscale place to dine. The food & service were excellent. This place now surpasses Moishes & Gibbys since they are now owned by Cage, & quality is nowhere near the same.
If you want to ruin your evening, get burned food, answer inappropriate questions about your religion, & be extorted on the street - this is definitely the place for you.
It all started when, after an hour of waiting, I was served an absolutely burnt steak. When I asked to replace it, they started arguing with me & seriously suggested I'try it from the side with less char'. After I refused, they finally replaced it with a decent one. But the food was just a prelude.
Right before paying the bill, a highly awkward conversation took place: our waiter, Kosta, started interrogating me about whether I was an orthodox person. Such questions from service staff are a gross violation of basic ethics & personal boundaries.
The absurdity reached its peak after we left the establishment. We were standing outside waiting for our ladies when our waiter came flying out with bulging eyes & aggressively started extorting a tip. Not wanting to completely ruin my evening, I voluntarily handed him the money. But my girlfriend wasn't so accommodating & demanded the money back. It was only after she threatened a negative review that this ridiculous & completely unacceptable circus ended, & he handed back $50. In the end, we still left a $50 tip, but the bitter aftertaste is enormous.
Kosta, with love: you figured me out, I actually am Jewish. Thanks for the'unforgettable' service.
Having been for decades the tooth that incises all cuts - the Charolais of France, the Chianina of Italy, the Wagyu of Japan, or the Black Angus of the Americas - allow yourself a moment to sit as jury over the gamut of choices before rendering the verdict of appreciation.
Though Montreal has for decades harboured numerous abodes offering the finest beef, Rib'n Reef still wears the institutional feather in its cap.
The opening tartare - salmon or beef - stole the show of freshness at your table, spiced precisely to your threshold.
I chose the filet, & on its own merit, being perfection . The service was far from idle, attentive to every currency of your parameters. All of this was blessed by their fine wine selection. Then, having already touched paradise, sinfully yield to the temptation of heavenly crêpes suzette.
As a final note: some meat products may be on a foray toward extinction, owed to climate discrepancies - so spoil yourself before that day arrives.

Very disappointed, this restaurant is really a money grab, from the moment you park your car, they have their private parking, yet a valet to park it 5 feet away. We were 7 people they charge 20% tip obligatory for more then a party of 6 ( they say it on the menu). All of our steaks were not cooked the way we asked, the worst part is that our waiter was arguing with us on the way it was cooked. Never seen that in my life. Anyways if you want to experience a steak house in Montreal. There way much better ones than this one.
