Review Summary

Satu Lagi is widely celebrated for its authentic, flavorful Indonesian and Malaysian cuisine and its status as a dedicated gluten-free establishment, which many diners appreciate for its inclusivity and high quality. The vibrant, tapas-style sharing menu features standout dishes such as the satay, fried oyster mushrooms, beef rendang, and pandan crème brûlée, often accompanied by well-crafted, original cocktails. While the atmosphere is frequently praised as cozy, stylish, and lively, some visitors have noted that the restaurant can become quite loud and seating may feel close. Opinions on value are mixed, as some guests find the portion sizes small relative to the price points, yet many others view it as a worthwhile gastronomic experience for special occasions. Service is generally described as friendly and attentive, although there are occasional mentions of pacing issues or inconsistencies during busy periods.

-The curry is so light there is barely any taste pale just coconut,
-The ribs were not bad (the dip that comes with it is very good) but waaay overpriced,
-The water spinach vege dish is surprisingly the best one with most flavour😅
just an honest review good vibe , 5/10 food & service!

The food is really good. But the portions are tiny for the price that's being paid! The satays were so so so small. We had to grab subway on the way back. It's sad to see restaurants lowkey robbing there costumers with high price points for baby portions. That tiny brocoli was 14$… that's insane. But like I said the small amount of food we had was really good.

My friends & I stumbled into Satu Lagi on a rainy night & were blown away. Sat at the bar across from the open kitchen & ordered based on the chef (Kevin's) recommendation. Great service & amazing food especially the satay flight & the fried mushrooms. Highly recommend!

Went there on Sunday & the terrace experience was horrible.
First of all the terrace is very tight & the tables / chairs are parallel meaning you sitting right next to everyone. Tables are so small (the menu is bigger than half of the table). Chairs are so close that it just felt like we're one big family, my neighbor also shot a little bit of shrimp sauce on us (not his fault though as he was litterally closer to me than my partner in front of me). There's no privacy whatsoever.
Now that's not the reason for my 1 star though. I am fine with this terrace approach as long as you are able to meet customers needs on time. It seemed to me that they tried to maximize the number of clients & are unable to serve them.
We had to wait 1h 20 mins for our plates then we just decided to leave after being served a plate of 3 shrimps. That plate is supposedly a shared platter but i guess each person takes 1.5 shrimp? Maybe just make it 4 by default & not try to rob us with an additional shrimp since you guys' concept is shared platters).

After that 1h 20mins of waiting we just decided to pay for the shrimps & leave. Only then we get told our plates are now ready. They did look good from afar but having not tasted them i can't know.

That being said the whole experiencd was horrible.

Indonesian & Malaysian cuisine.
It is a dedicated gluten free location, usually that means sacrificing quality or price, but neither is an issue here.
The food is varied & delicious.

We were out for dinner with family & chose this interesting restaurant serving Malaysian & Indonesian cuisine.

It has a really nice informal atmosphere & the service is laid-back, friendly & efficient - just what we like.

The menu was really interesting & made a good read, & had lots of dishes with bold flavours. As there were 4 of us, we got a good selection of dishes:

- 4 Indonesian sambals (salsas) with chips

- Satay Ayam: Chicken & sweet soy
- Satay Daging: Turmeric, lemongrass beef

- Jamur Jamur: Crispy oyster mushrooms with Malaysian spices

- Kari Ayam Penang: Peranaken chicken curry
- Iga Bakar: Grilled beef ribs marinated with galangal & soy

- Gudeg Nangka: Sweet stewed young jackfruit in coconut milk

- Kangkong Belacan: Water spinach stir-fried in belancan

I love belacan (fermented shrimp paste) & the water spinach dish was full of it! Delicious. The chicken curry was also stand-out, but all the dishes were really good & interesting. A very good meal!

Great food! Went for dinner & shared all the plates with a friend. Portion was generous & we were full from everything.

Though their chili from the iga bakar was not spicy for my tastebuds. I love spicy but I wonder if I can ask for en extra kick next time.

Will definitely come back & try their lunch menu & tasting menu.
