Had a booking for 8 on sunday at 7:30pm. When we entered, the place was packed with other groups. I thought the service or the food would be slow to come out but i was definitely wrong.

Our waiter was really nice, explained the food, & made sure my friend with a food allergy got a suitable replacement.

The food was a set menu for the entire group. 7 plates for 55$. Every plates was delicious, i thought I wouldn't be filled initially but i was wrong again. There was barely any downtime between plates coming in which was nice. The plates were mainly meat (chicken skewers, fried chicken, ribs, lamb, pork bao bun) which was perfect for me.

Overall, food, service & atmosphere was great. Definitely recommend going there to everybody.Voir plus

One of my colleagues highly recommended this place (infact she was adamant we try it out) & glad we took her recommendation! Got to try a few things on the menu & most of it slaps. Definitely check out the fried chicken buns & the skewers. Flavourful, fresh ingredients & the skewers had a unique smokey but a piercing marinating sauce effect to it - gotta try it to believe it. If you're in the area or want something different - check it out!Voir plus

The food was great & so was the service. The chicken satay skewers were probably the best thing we had. The bao buns were very good as well. The fried rice was good but not our favorite thing on the menu.Voir plus

Keith & Richard here, (ignore the Tristan name. I do that to fool friends)We just got done having dinner. Great to see you again. Our first time at the sit down location. Went right into the Lamb & Chicken Satay. Loved it along the Pork Bao buns.Meegoreng was great. Spicy but not over the top. The Laksa was very good, but missing a little of the creaminess of the broth & the Lemongrass flavor we remember at the Atwater outlet. Otherwise fantastic. Love the vibe of the restaurant. I'd say you guys are well loved by the customers for good reason. We hope to get up there in the summer sometime, but will easily go back to the restaurant. Best wishes for more success!Voir plus

Run! Don't walk - to Satay Brothers. If you're in Montreal, this is the place to go. We made a reservation for a group of 7 & the experience was awesome. We went for the $55 (CAD) tasting menu & it was so worth it (fyi, this option may only be available for groups of 6+). Every plate was flavorful & delicious - our favorites were the chicken & shrimp skewers, fried chicken, laska soup, & the ribs. The atmosphere is poppin'. YDefinitely gets pretty loud inside, but overall a very fun & lively vibe. 10/10!!Voir plus

I had a gift card given to me, so I finally got around to going to the restaurant. I so wanted to like this place far more than I ended up liking it. I have had their food at the Atwater Market & in the Royal Victoria Hospital this was first in the actual restaurant. We arrived around 6pm on a Friday, as I paid for 2 hours of parking my wife went in to secure a seat. When I found her they had seated her at the front bar & I was supposed to join her & when I saw the arrangement even though the parking was paid for I got us up to leave. The staff suggested perhaps we'd be happier at the back bar, which admittedly was less busy, but still not what I wanted, but decided to give it a go. Having perused the menu earlier in the day & had already painted a mental picture of what I wanted, I wanted to try a cross section of the menu. I asked about how sharable the menu was, & proceeded to order. As a quick side note, the prices on their own website are out of date, & just about everything was a little more expensive, not to the point where I was shocked but there is nothing worse than finding the prices online are incorrect, this is in my opinion unacceptable. I'm not saying a photo of the menu that was out of date, I can accept that, I mean front & center on the website prices are wrong, this would be a 5 minute html fix, but not done. Nevertheless we ordered & then we were offered a table which we moved to. We had our laksa soup which was very good, a strong start. Next was a chicken satay sandwich, which was the beginning of the end. It was very middle of the road. Sandwiches have the capacity to be a star attraction, but this was middle of the road, too much peanut sauce not enough of anything else to really appreciate. Our order of vegetables of the day arrive. While waiting I ordered a Pandan Daiquiri, which was good. We waited over 20 minutes for our Rendang beef & rice to arrive, we actually had to ask them to check on the order, & it was still a few minutes before we had our "main" dish, by now the simple vegetable dish was cold. The presentation of the beef was lack luster, just laddled on to a plate with little to no ceremony, while tasting fine, it just looked kinda not so appetising. Lastly we took a kueh salat for dessert. Again while it tasted fine, it was not presented in any pleasant way, but still looked better than the beef. We paid, & we left. On the drive home I concluded that since I hardly had to pay that much due to the gift card, that if I had paid for the meal I would have been pissed off by what we had. During dinner I described the place as less a restaurant & more a night club that has food. The place is loud & quite chaotic, which is part of the reason I don't think service is great, it's too busy & full of people for the staff to be attentive. So I now have another Montreal restaurant I don't need to go back to. Since the pandemic I have felt less & less inclined to go to restaurants. We used to be so spoilt in Montreal, good food, good service, reasonable portions for a reasonable price. Now I struggle with this regularly & this place doesn't stand out enough for the prices, the portions are on the small side for the prices. I mean a plate of Asian greens for $11 is outrageous, it's cooked vegetables, on a ratio of about 6:1 of preparing it at home versus eating it in a restaurant, 3:1 maybe 4:1 is the most they should be charging for this kind of thing. I fear for the future of restaurants in our city, people may be willing to pay these prices but I don't think they have an appropriate appreciation of value. In any case this is my review & I always try to find a strong counterpoint in my reviews to be as balanced as I can be, but I don't think I have anything to add, I can't even say free ample parking.Voir plus

We had a team event/dinner here & everything was managed so well! The server was able to take everyone's dietary requirements into consideration & remember it when serving such a big group of moving around people!! The drinks were a solid 10/10! We had a table full of multiple dishes & the standout for me was definitely chicken satay & baos!!! Melt in mouth!Voir plus

Run don't walk to this gem. The fun atmosphere, incredibly warm staff, & not to forget the incredible food. You'll regret not eating here whether you're a local or just visiting. I had the chicken satay, laksa, papaya salad, & the pork bun. If I had room I would have eaten them all over again & a few more bites. Thanks for the nice meal Satay Bros!Voir plus

decently sized laksa with creamy flavourful soup & tender chicken ($2 extra, so $18 in total)! it's not too spicy, so the flavour was really good. i think the dish was done well. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 they only take reservations for 6+ people, so it was around a 20 min wait during dinner on a saturday. there is a connected bar next door we were lead to by the staff so it wasn't too bad while waiting. we were seated at a communal table & service was very nice & quick!Voir plus

We had the canvas club's painting event at Satay Brothers. It is a vibrant & colorful place. The decorations mixed of retro & slightly gothic. Busy night, the staff were getting delayed with their services but it was super friendly. We had steamed bun, satay shrimp skewers, fried chicken satay & cocktails. Every single dish was so delicious. The canvas paint event was awesome, thankful to Satay Brothers for hosting it.Voir plus

Their fried chicken buns are addictive! Delicious. Bbq ribs were out of this world. The place it self has a very unique character; takes you on a trip to somewhere else. We went on a Saturday night. Its really loud inside with a party vibe. Amazing food & atmosphere.Voir plus

Satay Bros is a must when in Montreal! While you wait for your table, they have a bar next door complete with ample seating & a ping pong table for your entertainment. Our wait felt super short, & we didn't even finish our drinks. All of the food is delish, & we loved the bao buns, fried chicken & mee goreng.Voir plus

This place is always packed, even on a Tuesday night, but worth it! They don't take reservations in advance, unless it's for a group of 6 or more. The food is really good - we ordered papaya salad, karaage steam baos, chowmein, jasmine tea, chicken & shrimp skewers. Service was prompt. For dessert we had the mixed kueh platter (not too sweet but delicious). Everything was great. The atmosphere is lovely, but the restaurant felt pretty warm (we came on a summer evening in the middle of a heat wave though). I'd highly recommend this place - if you can get in.Voir plus

May 2024: Pisco sour was great, Char Kuay Teow noodles had plenty of sausage but not much seafood, was sweet. Papaya salad was nice & crunchy. March 2024: Gorgeous decor, inviting atmosphere, friendly efficient staff. My Pandan cocktail was delicious, the tamarind one just tasted like sugar. Had the group menu. Beef cubes, pork Bao buns, ribs, chicken skewers, fried rice were delicious. Mixed noodles & vegetables (rapini?) were okay. Fried chicken was pretty disappointing. Plenty of food overall though, very full by the end.Voir plus

The food here is simply incredible. Cooked to perfection, heavenly tasty, perfectly greasy. Also the vibes are immaculate, the decor is so nicely curated, & the service is so friendly & just- I love this place. The papaya salad with pork was sooo tasty & refreshing, the pork buns were wow, the satay chicken was one of the best I've ever had. They do not take reservations, be aware that you may have to wait a good hour & a half on a weekend at peak time, but they have a bar where you can wait if you want.Voir plus

I'm asian so I expect a lot from Asian food in terms of flavor. atmosphere wise it is a really hopping place to hang out. BUT for Southeast Asian food-- the flavors are only salty but not very nuanced & the portions are tiny. my friend got a chicken leg as a starter & for $5 they gave something that looked like one measly chicken wing. I got laksa & the soup was coconutey & fine. the shrimp was the best part-- lightly cooked great texture. but not enough noodles. three slurps & I am done the bowl. & way too many bean sprouts. papaya salad was the tastiest at the table. the vegetarian options don't even bother. gado gado had no flavor. tofu Bao is also flavorless. too expensive for what it was.Voir plus

Satay Brothers is a unique restaurant with soul & passion, providing an amazing menu with unique flavours through their wonderful service. This is the first restaurant in North America that I've seen have regulars - people from the neighborhood that come to this place for fine food & comfort. The Singaporean spired menu packs a delicious medley of flavours with ingredients not seen in North American cuisine. Prices are a bargain for what you're getting - freshly made pork baos & chicken skewers & whatever else they have on the menu - everything I tasted was delicious. The restaurant is clean, the music is great, the staff are wonderful & friendly, it's a true neighbourhood gem & a great place to eat or have a drinkVoir plus

The food was delicious. The dense & spicy chicken soup is perfect for a cold winter day. The ribs was well marinated. The sandwich looked like a normal sandwich but was surprisingly tasty! The only issue was that we were sat in a very ill lit corner of the restaurant. It was very difficult to see the menu or even the food. The picture were taken using nightmode, it was a very very dim corner. They certainly need more lights there.Voir plus

Our last night in Montreal & we were blown away by such a cool place with 100% delicious foods! Such a treat - we were sad to have found them at a late stage & wish we could take them back to England with us!
We had the chicken satay, green papaya & pork & chicken laksa & chefs fried rice - so, so good!
The staff were also so lovely & friendly!
We arrived for supper at around 6 & they were very busy.Voir plus
