I recently had the chance to try this place for the first time. Every thing was delicious & amazing! The service was awesome & I ate way too much. Can't wait to go back & try some new dishes! Sorry, no photos, the food did not stay on the plate long enough! The pork buns are definitely worth a try, as is the papaya salad.Voir plus
Had a booking for 8 on sunday at 7:30pm. When we entered, the place was packed with other groups. I thought the service or the food would be slow to come out but i was definitely wrong.
Our waiter was really nice, explained the food, & made sure my friend with a food allergy got a suitable replacement.
The food was a set menu for the entire group. 7 plates for 55$. Every plates was delicious, i thought I wouldn't be filled initially but i was wrong again. There was barely any downtime between plates coming in which was nice. The plates were mainly meat (chicken skewers, fried chicken, ribs, lamb, pork bao bun) which was perfect for me.
Overall, food, service & atmosphere was great. Definitely recommend going there to everybody.Voir plus
Satay Brothers feels like a little hawker stall dropped into St?Henri. Color everywhere, sambal in the air, & the pork?belly bun/laksa combo hit all the comfort spots. Tiny room, big vibes-worth the wait in line.Voir plus
One of my favourite Montreal spots. Super well priced & great vibes. Highly recommend the pork belly bao buns, papaya salad & kueh salat (SO GOOD).
Pandan daquiri is nothing special. Satay Lager is solid.
Walk-ins unless you're a large group so the wait can be a bit during peak hours. If you're a big group, you need to do family menu, which is good value for money.Voir plus
Keith & Richard here, (ignore the Tristan name. I do that to fool friends)We just got done having dinner. Great to see you again. Our first time at the sit down location. Went right into the Lamb & Chicken Satay. Loved it along the Pork Bao buns.Meegoreng was great. Spicy but not over the top. The Laksa was very good, but missing a little of the creaminess of the broth & the Lemongrass flavor we remember at the Atwater outlet. Otherwise fantastic. Love the vibe of the restaurant. I'd say you guys are well loved by the customers for good reason. We hope to get up there in the summer sometime, but will easily go back to the restaurant. Best wishes for more success!Voir plus
Every person of the group of 23 I was part of fell in love with the place. Ecclectic decorations, outstanding service (considering we were 23 at the table & the restaurant was jammed pack), & the food... my oh my. Everything was delicious. I would definitely recommend! My personal favorite was the braised pork belly bao bun. Still can't get over how perfectly delicious it was :-) Also, they accomodated our big group without any problem, which was very much appreciated.Voir plus
Run don't walk to this gem. The fun atmosphere, incredibly warm staff, & not to forget the incredible food. You'll regret not eating here whether you're a local or just visiting. I had the chicken satay, laksa, papaya salad, & the pork bun. If I had room I would have eaten them all over again & a few more bites. Thanks for the nice meal Satay Bros!Voir plus
One of the best restaurants in Mtl!! The vibe, music, service, & of course the food were all amazing. Every time I go, this place never disappoints! Would highly recommend going with all your friends, the food is to die for :) We ordered the pork belly steamed buns, Kolo mee noodle soup, fried rice & pork ribs. For the dessert, we had both Kueh Bengka & Salat 😋 I also once tried the set menu & it is so worth it, You get a bit of everything!!Voir plus
Went for a friend's birthday & we had the tasting menu. Lots of delicious dishes! My favourites were the fried chicken, the pork belly bao buns & the pork ribs!Voir plus
I think I found my new obsession. We took the papaya salad, pork bites & the meegoreng. We loved it. Very flavourful. Service was fast & the people working there are very nice!!Voir plus
Always a delight, & packed even on a Monday! Great drinks, service, food & vibes! My favourites are the pork bao buns, the chicken skewers & either the papaya salad or the spicy steak salad!!!Voir plus
Clearly this is a place regulars go to, there was a camaraderie & culture here from the waiting staff to the patrons. Great food, the satay is obviously great, I loved the pork belly buns. Such a good spot in a great foodie neighborhood. We walked from the Lionel-Groulx station & would go back!Voir plus
I love Satay Brothers, it's always such a vibe. The service is top notch - I remember a time it was pouring out & the host was giving out umbrellas to people waiting on the street & also taking orders for drinks. I had a spicy margarita waiting for a table. The food is fantastic as well, it goes without saying. The tempeh satay skewers, pork buns, & mi goreng are my go to dishes.Voir plus
Pork buns were amazing! Noodle was a bit oily, but it was okay. However it made my & my partner's stomach feel hurt after having their food.Voir plus
Killer flavours & nice atmosphere at fair prices, kid friendly too. **UPDATE**: 10 year later review update - bumping up to 5 stars. This really is one of the best restaurants in the city. Amazing & super consistent food (we're 10y+ regulars at this point). One of our favourite restaurants in the city. Great bold & bright flavours from an under-represented cuisine here in Montreal. The laksa, pork buns, satay sandwich & papaya salad are all standouts. Also, the fried rice (which changes up regularly) is amazing, truly awesome. The vibe is great too. Vibrant but laid back atmosphere, great with the family/friends earlier in the night, then it becomes a really fun evening spot with a lively clientele, a good bar & good times when the sun goes down. When people are visiting Montreal for the first time & ask for restaurant recommendations, Satay Brothers is always on the list. Not to be missed, one of our best. I'll update this review in another 10 years!Voir plus
May 2024: Pisco sour was great, Char Kuay Teow noodles had plenty of sausage but not much seafood, was sweet. Papaya salad was nice & crunchy. March 2024: Gorgeous decor, inviting atmosphere, friendly efficient staff. My Pandan cocktail was delicious, the tamarind one just tasted like sugar. Had the group menu. Beef cubes, pork Bao buns, ribs, chicken skewers, fried rice were delicious. Mixed noodles & vegetables (rapini?) were okay. Fried chicken was pretty disappointing. Plenty of food overall though, very full by the end.Voir plus
Great restaurant. Love the vibe. The food is delicious. The pork bun is a must. The bun is nice & soft & the meat is a bit fatty which makes it really tasty. I also really enjoyed the tuna tataki & papaya salad. All the plates came out really fast. . The service is great & prices are very reasonable. This place never disappoints.Voir plus
The food here is simply incredible. Cooked to perfection, heavenly tasty, perfectly greasy. Also the vibes are immaculate, the decor is so nicely curated, & the service is so friendly & just- I love this place. The papaya salad with pork was sooo tasty & refreshing, the pork buns were wow, the satay chicken was one of the best I've ever had. They do not take reservations, be aware that you may have to wait a good hour & a half on a weekend at peak time, but they have a bar where you can wait if you want.Voir plus
Satay Brothers is a unique restaurant with soul & passion, providing an amazing menu with unique flavours through their wonderful service. This is the first restaurant in North America that I've seen have regulars - people from the neighborhood that come to this place for fine food & comfort. The Singaporean spired menu packs a delicious medley of flavours with ingredients not seen in North American cuisine. Prices are a bargain for what you're getting - freshly made pork baos & chicken skewers & whatever else they have on the menu - everything I tasted was delicious. The restaurant is clean, the music is great, the staff are wonderful & friendly, it's a true neighbourhood gem & a great place to eat or have a drinkVoir plus
The food there is delicious & they also have a nice passionfruit cocktail that i loved. It's a laidback spot that is always buzzing in the evenings especially on weekends. The pork buns are a must try.Voir plus
Fantastic for large groups with a reservation way ahead. Food is to die for. The pork buns are heavenly. Only thing that makes me remove a star is the severe 2hrs slot allotted for groups. We had to eat so fast! I would pay an extra to add an extra 15 or 30 mins 🙏🏻Voir plus
Our last night in Montreal & we were blown away by such a cool place with 100% delicious foods! Such a treat - we were sad to have found them at a late stage & wish we could take them back to England with us!
We had the chicken satay, green papaya & pork & chicken laksa & chefs fried rice - so, so good!
The staff were also so lovely & friendly!
We arrived for supper at around 6 & they were very busy.Voir plus
