This place is just fun fun food fun atmosphere fun people an all round good time 😎
Satay brothers is my favorite spot in Montreal. I always take friends & visitors & the staff is delightful. The flavors are incredible & the spiked lemonade is a must have!
The food is good, according with the price. The service was kind at the beginig, they explained the menú but, at the end they were hurring us up to finish, the Waiter asked me if i want a dessert but i was in a call i asked him to wait a minute. 2 minuts
After a girl came with the bill. We payed & 2 minutes after a guy asked us to leave, he said there were some people waiting. We still had the half of our beers. We couldnt enjoy properly. Very disapointed. There were nobody waiting forma table
This place has incredible atmosphere amazing staff & even tastier food - it's a very trendy vibe with a chill lay back touch -lighting great & music is a perfect level. THE FOOD, it's amazing I can not reiterate enough how great - please please try the pork buns & the fried rice ! Sooo great our server Mason was lovely & Frank provided an extra touch of care to an amazing service.
we came here last year & it was amazing so went again & this time it tasted different. it was good, but not great. Rendan beef was too salty & spicy to my taste. buns were good but nothing special. drinks were not impressive too. maybe they changed menu or some ingredients, but it's definitely not like a year ago.
We visited for dinner, arriving around 5:30. There is no sign above the restaurant; you just have to know you are in the right spot.
Decor inside has a lot of dark wood & deep red. There are string lights & large cans strung across the ceiling. Music is loud but not so much that we couldn't hold a conversation or hear our server.
We did not have to wait for a seat at the kitchen bar, where we could watch some of the food being plated.
The server was phenomenal, speaking English for this monolingual tourist. He tailored food recommendations to each of us based on tastes & spice tolerance. :) His recommendations were spot on for each of us. Each food item was brought out as it was finished by the kitchen, so it was always piping hot.
The pork buns were delicious. I had leftover peanut sauce after finishing the chicken satay, which I also ate by pouring it over some of my husband's leftover rice. (My choices did not come with rice, which I thought was odd.) My absolute favorite was the black rice pudding dessert. My husband has a spice beef dish for dinner that was extremely tender & perfectly spiced according to him. His dessert was a warm cube of pressed, seasoned rice with a green, custard-y top. Also good, but not as yummy as mine!
The place is clearly popular with the locals. By the time we left, there was a line to get in.
Satay Brothers is a colorful restaurant serving Singaporean dishes, located near the popular Atwater Market. I visited on a Saturday evening, & the place was packed. There was a short line at the door, & we waited about 20-25 minutes before being seated at the bar, which worked out just fine.
The staff were very friendly & welcoming. The host at the entrance, whose parents run the restaurant, was especially warm, & both the bartenders & servers were attentive despite the weekend rush. That said, if you go on a Friday or Saturday night, I recommend putting in your order quickly since service can feel a little stretched when it's busy.
I ordered the Char Kway Teow ($20 CAD), a stir-fried noodle dish with shrimp, clams, & Chinese sausage. The flavors were good & matched the menu description, but my only disappointment was that the portion size felt quite small for the price.
The atmosphere is what really stands out: bright decorations, colorful energy, a mix of people enjoying both food & drinks, & hip-hop music adding to the vibe. It's definitely a spot for more than just eating-it feels like a place to hang out & soak in the energy.
Overall, Satay Brothers is a fun, vibrant place to enjoy Singaporean dishes in Montreal. If you want to avoid the wait, try going on a weekday, but if you don't mind the crowd, the weekend buzz is part of the experience.
An absolute gem of a place. Fantastic food, fantastic service, & the best atmosphere in the city!
Went there for my bday has a large group & everything was as expected. 10/10 for celebrating events there. Would be nice if the group menu allowed for individual orders
The food is consistently outstanding! The interior decor adds to the overall beautiful experience. The staff are always in a great mood, making the visit even more enjoyable. I highly recommend this spot to anyone.
One of the best I've had in Montreal. Need to come back for the papaya salad & the Laksa 🔜🫶
Unique Asian fusion restaurant with a very vibrant decor. The dishes are very flavorful & delicious. The owner is very kind & makes you right at home. No place like it in Montreal!
