Satay Brothers is hands down my go-to spot in the city. The food is unreal - full of bold flavors & totally worth what you pay. The vibe is always super fun & welcoming, & the decor is cool & laid-back without being pretentious.
You can't make reservations, so be ready to wait a bit - but honestly, it's part of the charm. & if there's a wait, there's a small bar right next door where you can hang out until your table's ready.
Must-orders? The bao buns, the laksa, & the Satay Ayam. But honestly, I've had everything on the menu & it's all amazing!!!!

Genuinely awful food. Even worse customer service. The food made me & my partner ill on what should have been a birthday & graduation celebration, & when I complained I was patronised, gaslit & blamed by the manager Alex.
I would attach images of what came out of me as I walked along Notre-Dame as well as when I came home but I'm not sure if anyone wants to see that although to be fair, it didn't look dissimilar to the beef randeng slop that was thrown up to me.
If you like wasting money on overpriced, poor quality shit, certain to make you ill & line the pockets of an egotistical asshole, this is the spot for you.
Avoid like the Asian Flue.
Satay Brothers feels like a little hawker stall dropped into St?Henri. Color everywhere, sambal in the air, & the pork?belly bun/laksa combo hit all the comfort spots. Tiny room, big vibes-worth the wait in line.
Run for the seasonal menu , the soft shell crab was incredibly delicious with a nice kick to it . Satay brothers never fails to please whether at the resto or at their Atwater location , the food & service is always the best .
C'est un bon resto avec un très bon service. Ça peut plaire à beaucoup de personnes mais pour moi c'est trop bruyant.
One of my favourite Montreal spots. Super well priced & great vibes. Highly recommend the pork belly bao buns, papaya salad & kueh salat (SO GOOD).
Pandan daquiri is nothing special. Satay Lager is solid.
Walk-ins unless you're a large group so the wait can be a bit during peak hours. If you're a big group, you need to do family menu, which is good value for money.
