Dans l'ensemble, les avis convergent vers une expérience chaleureuse et festive dans un cadre intime où l'atmosphère vinyle et DJ crée une ambiance speakeasy propice à la danse après le dîner. La nourriture et les boissons sont régulièrement décrites comme délicieuses et soignées, avec des plats variés et des cocktails complexes, parfois inspirés du japonais et du saké. Le service est largement salué pour son accueil, son professionnalisme et sa connaissance du menu, même lorsque le lieu se remplit et que l'espace devient plus serré. Le lieu reste petit et peut devenir très fréquenté, avec des tables et des tabourets serrés et, parfois, des temps d'attente ou une organisation à améliorer, notamment entre les espaces haut et bas et la cohérence des menus. Malgré ces petits bémols, Sans Soleil est souvent cité comme l'un des meilleurs spots de Montréal pour manger, boire et danser, une adresse à revenir régulièrement pour l'ambiance, la musique et la qualité des plats.
Amazing food & super chill vibes. From the laid back but professional service, moody ambiance, to the specialty mixed drinks, this place is a must. Try several plates & share them.
Decadent speak-easy with glamorous basement vibes, replete with DJ, vinyl, candle lit tables, & mysterious bourgeois style. Warm staff with can-do attitude & a twinkle in their eyes. House cocktails are whimsically elegant & happily bold. Couples & groups making music with their talk. Stumbled into the cool crowd.

Had a fabulous time at Sans Soleil with my friend last night. We tried getting a reservation at Fleurs & Cadeaux but we are so glad things happened the way they did because Sans Soleil was a much better vibe. There was a dj playing vinyl records & it was almost a speakeasy vibe. The food is incredible!! We will be coming here again for a meal in the future. 10/10 recommend
Had a great time with a few friends, & had the best server, Gray. He was extremely attentive & funny, fitting into the vibe of our group & the overall intimate surrounding of the place. As an added bonus, the bottom floor turned into a dance floor around 22:00. Would go again & a highlight of our trip!

Sans Soliel.... phew where do I even begin. The ambiance was lively yet relaxed & made for one of the best outings I've had in a while! I suggest reserving a table with a few friends & working your way through their EXQUISITE food & drink offerings... the shashimi is a must! We had a very kind & knowledgeable server named Gray, who's presence was a welcome extension of the warmth Montreal has to offer even during such frigid temperatures. My experience would not have been the same without them! After 9:45 the space turned into a dance floor; PRO-V was the DJ the night we went & I loved the 90s hip-hop/ r&b vibes provided. Sans Soliel is definitely 10/10 & worth a visit!
One of the best meals I've ever had & impeccable music & dancing vibes. Our waitress Andy was one of the best parts, she gave amazing recommendations on drinks & every dish she chose for our tasting menu was incredible. Will be coming back every time we're in Montreal.
first spot upon arriving in Montreal - the DJ set & vibes were unreal! quite small venue however staff were all super polite & helpful! will deffo come back when I can

I had an amazing time at this restaurant! The food was truly delicious, the ambiance was perfect, & the DJ kept the energy flowing all night. The whole vibe turned into such a fun party. I genuinely enjoyed every moment. Highly recommend it if you're looking for great food & a great time!
My husband & I had such a great time here. Our visit was short but we really enjoyed the music, the drinks & food. The vibe is unmatched. Perfect place to have a casual chat & with your loved ones & friends.
extremely good vibes, a place where people actually want to dance & enjoy themselves instead of standing around on there phone. Definitely get there early as the line is long
Upstairs: Stylish & upscale Japanese cuisine with high-quality ingredients & some great flavours. That said, the prices are very steep - both food & drinks are expensive. There's a wide selection of sake & wine, but oddly only one beer option, priced at $18 for a 330ml bottle. Portions are quite small, & service was incredibly slow; it took nearly two hours for three small dishes. Service was typical for Montreal - not much warmth or enthusiasm. The host at the door (tall guy) seemed annoyed to see customers arriving & barely acknowledged us. On the plus side, once we voiced our concerns about the delay, our server was very understanding, expedited the next dish, & offered a discount, which was appreciated.
Downstairs: Much better vibes. Intimate atmosphere with a great sound system & all-vinyl sets every night. The drink menu was more varied, including a few reasonably priced Boreal beer options. A good spot for drinks & music.
Very cool speakeasy- attentive servers & food was extraordinary! Every single dish we ordered had such unique flavours & the quality of the sashimi was exceptional. Really enjoyed the vibe- the music in the background was very chill & the lighting was appropriately dim. Highly recommend!
Super nice vibes & nice people. The waiter explain the whole menu to us & gave us amazing recommendation. Went to get desserts & drink for a birthday & got offered a brownie with candles! Would definitely go back for the food next time.
Got a table at the bar last minute. Had the BEST bartender walk us through the food & sake. Shared stories of Japan. We asked for some teaching on how to eat traditionally. He was so genuine & took this experience beyond anything we have had in the past. The food & the vibe & the music (dj) was wonderful but his personality & time is something we will talk about for a long time. The club vibe after dinner was also really great. Music dancing food team 10 out of 10.
