Everything we had was authentic & delicious. Charcuterie meats were some of the best we have had. Shared the pastas with lobster & Ragu w/meats & didn't want to waste any! Very nice wine selection. Charming & cozy, can be a bit loud depending on other patrons.
We had an absolutely fantastic experience at Salumi Vino-easily one of our favorite spots in Old Montreal.
From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt warm & authentically Italian. The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, & genuinely helpful, making us feel right at home.
We started with the Bacio, Burrata, & fried zucchini-each dish was outstanding. The tomato dipping sauce deserves a special mention… it was truly out of this world & elevated everything on the table.
For mains, we had the ravioli & gnocchi, & both were absolutely amazing-fresh, flavorful, & perfectly executed. You can really taste the authenticity & care in every bite.
The wine recommendation was spot on & paired beautifully with our meal, adding even more to the overall experience.
This place delivers on every level: food, service, & atmosphere. We love this spot & will definitely be back. Highly recommended if you're looking for a true Italian dining experience in Old Montreal.
Wow. I would highly recommend this restaurant. Small intimate & definitely authentic. I think this was the best pasta I have ever had. We, my daughter & I , had the Ceviche & zucchini florettes as appetizers & then the lobster pasta & I have to say that was the best pasta I've ever had in my life!!! The service was excellent. Mario, the owner attended to us himself & took his time & helped me pick the wine that I would like best. I am definitely going to return here & recommend this place to my friends & family.
A flawless experience from start to finish
I recently hosted our Department of Plastic Surgery Christmas dinner at Salumi Vino-a group of nearly 50 colleagues-& the experience was nothing short of exceptional. Without a single exception, every person in attendance commented on the warmth, coziness, & intimate atmosphere of the restaurant.
From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with the welcoming spirit & genuine hospitality of Mario, whose presence truly elevates the experience. His passion for the restaurant is palpable, & it sets the tone for an unforgettable evening.
The food was exceptionally authentic, beautifully prepared, & absolutely delicious. The portions were generous, & every dish felt crafted with care. Several guests even remarked that it was the best Italian cuisine they've had in Montreal.
& the wine list-simply unparalleled. Thoughtfully curated, diverse, & without question one of the best in the city.
Organizing an event for 50 people can be challenging, yet Salumi Vino made it effortless. The service was smooth, attentive, & genuinely warm.
I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough, whether for an intimate dinner or a large gathering. Salumi Vino delivered a perfect evening & set a new standard for us. We will absolutely be returning.
Salumi Vino is a true gem. Authentic, cozy, & unforgettable. The pasta was exceptional, especially the gnocchi tartufati. The wine selection also perfectly complemented our meal.
Thank you Mario for your hospitality & passion. You've created a little piece of Italy in Montreal. We'll definitely be back!
Great pace with authentic Italian food. Food is delicious. Cozy atmosphere & the service was great. Great place to take your time & share wine & Italian food.
I don't usually write reviews, but Salumi Vino 100% deserves one. This place is hands-down one of my favourite restaurants in Old Montreal. The food is authentic, comforting Italian-like eating at my mom's or my nonna's-but with a touch of elegance in the way everything is presented.
The restaurant itself is small & cozy, with beautiful rustic walls that make it feel warm & intimate. One of the things I really appreciate is how clean everything is. I'm super picky when it comes to food & cleanliness, & what really impressed me is that the kitchen is completely open-so you can see everything being made right in front of you. It's like a little show, & it proves they're doing things right, from scratch & with care.
The wine selection is also great. Whether you're a wine lover or someone who just wants a nice glass to go with dinner, they've got you covered. & the staff is always so attentive & kind. Having the owner, Mario, come by each table personally just adds a special touch-it really feels like five-star service without the stuffiness.
I've been to Salumi Vino many times now, & I even hosted two family events there, including my small wedding. It was absolutely perfect. The location in Old Montreal makes it even better-amazing for photos & just a beautiful area to be in.
I recommend this place without a doubt. It's a hidden gem that truly feels like home, & the food never disappoints.
Fabulous restaurant. Nice size to be cozy. Mario is a great host. The food was fantastic & a great selection of wines.
Excellent food, wine & service! Love watching the kitchen hard at work from the table. Wine prices & Selection were also great.
Incredible place, this quaint restaurant is truly a hidden gem. Staff is friendly & Mario is wonderful & very Attentive ! All our dishes were delicious & the pasta is amazing!!! Wine is excellent. It was an absolute pleasure! Highly recommend
Mario & his staff were wonderful! We had a large group reservation & every single dish was absolutely delicious. My favourites were the arancini with truffle & the eggplant parmigiana: AMAZING!! The espresso martini was so good & the wine I had with dinner was excellent. Thank you again, we had such a wonderful time!
This is the real deal. Been all over & rarely did I have the experience I had here. The owner personally takes care of all the clients & is extremely passionate about his food & rightfully so. The wine list is impressive. The meatballs & eggplant parm are just like our nonnas used to make. The gnocchi were divine & the ravioli were to die for. Their tiramusu was another show stopper. The wine recommendation was perfect. I felt like i was traveling back to my chldhood with the food, hospitality & ambience
Cute little place in Old Montreal. We got the arancini to start, good taste but it was cold in the middle which was unfortunate. The sauce also came cold, on purpose for some reason. We had the ravioli & mushroom pappardelle, decent portions for both dishes but nothing special. Bit pricey for the overall quality of food. Service was professional & pleasant. Wine selection was good. We didn't try dessert. Overall, we'd give a 7/10. Happy we tried it but likely won't come back.
Wow, what a discovery! Facts: this is an Italian restaurant; it has an extensive wine list that complements much of the scratch made menu items. Notable differences from "other" Italian restaurants: the menu has a lot of off-the-beaten-path items (zucchini flowers as appetizers) as well as well-thought interpretations that transport you to Italy. The sauces are well simmered, so they develop a rich taste, enhancing the meats, fish or vegetables. We didn't have desserts, but the veal meatballs (with its Parmesan gratin & tomato sauce) & zucchini flowers as appetizers were well received, & the main courses of rapini sausage pasta (a bit oily, though), gnocchi & tuna plates were well executed. Don't forget to ask for bread to capture all the sauces that come with main dishes - it's a shame to waste it!
Very very good Italian restaurant. Good food, good wines choice & good service with attention to details. Mario is the cherry on the top of the cake. Extremely recommended.
It's all about the food, or the wine, or the friendly service, or the tiramisu...I just can't decide. What a wonderful evening with Mario & crew, from the arancini & meatballs to the tuna & beef ravioli entrees; enhanced with a lovely Zinfandel & topped off with house made tiramisu.
My family enjoyed an excellent meal at this classic Italian restaurant. The service was impeccable (Daniel) & owner Mario was a pleasure to talk to. The meatballs & amazing red sauce were fantastic. The Pappardelle Boscaiolo doesn't disappoint with black truffles & mushrooms. Homemade pasta makes every dish stand out with superb flavor. The wine list is impressive & makes pairing dishes very easy. Leave room for the tiramisu.
Salumi Vino offers a cozy, elegant Italian dining experience with excellent wines. Enjoy fresh, traditional dishes like homemade pasta, seafood, & meats. The Fra Diavolo is a highlight, & the tiramisu is delightful. The wine list is impressive, & the service is top-notch, making each visit memorable.
Amazing food, incredible staff, & a knowledgeable owner made our dining experience unforgettable. Every dish was a delight-the gnocchi with wine pairing was exceptional, & the burrata with fried pita was delicious. We walked in around 9:30 pm on a random night in Montreal & were quickly accommodated. Although it took some time for our food to arrive, it was worth the wait as everything was freshly prepared. My boyfriend & I will definitely be returning, hopefully with a reservation next time. This is a truly magical restaurant for a special date night.
