What a delightful experience! Every dish we had was incredible, we started out with the Ceviche & the Eggplant Parm (personal favorite). My husband & I wanted to try the seafood here due to a poor experience at a different restaurant. The Lobster Pasta was out of this world, & well worth the price. We finished off the night with a Tiramisu & Chocolate Mousse, also very delicious.
But the true highlight was the overall experience & atmosphere. Everyone was very nice, & we felt very attended to despite how busy it was. I don't often leave reviews but felt compelled by the experience. It was a delight!
Our dinner for 2 was a vacation treat & we were very happy with our choice. Our price estimate was higher due to wine & digestif selections we made. Extensive wine list. Extensive options for Amaro & Grappa. Mario was gracious & generous of nature - & quite knowledgeable. The food was very delicious & no pretense in this place. Homemade pastas were great. Both dessert options were delicious as well. We will return.
I visited Salumi Vino, & it's definitely the place to bring your family & friends. They're incredibly attentive, & the food is absolutely amazing. It feels like I'm enjoying a meal at home. Mario took great care of us. The pasta is the best I have had in Montreal, with just the right amount of sauce. The chicken was fantastic, the calamari was incredible. Highly recommended.

Interesting small restaurant that was only about 1/3 full. Pasta was good but couldn't really eat much because of the oily fried calamari that i ordered before the main dish. They did not know the proper temerity to fry the calamari in. Instead of being crispy, the batter was soggy which had absorbed a lot of oil that couldn't spit it out because the frying temperature was too low. While it tasted good, after consuming too much oil with the dish, i lost all appetite for the pasta.
If you're looking for authentic Italian cuisine in the heart of Old Montreal, this place is an absolute gem. Every dish is made with fresh, high-quality ingredients, & you can truly taste the difference. The homemade pastas & gnocchi are exceptional-fresh, flavourful, & prepared with care.
The new menu offers something for everyone, & the wine selection perfectly complements the food. Whether you're stopping in for a romantic dinner, a special occasion, or a night out with friends, the atmosphere is warm, welcoming, & memorable.
It's wonderful to see a restaurant that takes such pride in serving authentic Italian food with passion & attention to detail. Highly recommended-I can't wait to come back & try more from the new menu!
They served fettuccine pasta for the'pappardelle' & beef ragu dish. Food was marginal, at best. The server was fantastic. But we come to restaurants for more than good service. I don't know how this place is highly rated - it really should be much closer to 4.0
Wonderful dinner. Everything we had was authentic & delicious. Charcuterie meats were some of the best we have had. Shared the pastas with lobster & Ragu w/meats & didn't want to waste any! Very nice wine selection. Charming & cozy, can be a bit loud depending on other patrons.
Nice Italian restaurant in old port, Montreal. The service was so good & the food was amazing. I highly recommend the'Pappardelle con Ragu di Carne' pasta. it tastes like someone's nonna had been in the kitchen all day making it. & the meatballs?? Way too good… we literally forgot to take pictures ❤?
-Initially I wasn't impressed with the pasta but I guess it was too hot for my taste buds LoL. After 5 min, I loved it, enjoyed it, & I even scraped the plate clean! Portion size was perfect for me, that dinner was my first meal of the day!
- For dessert, I had the chocolate moose, I loved it
- The service is nice. The waitress was lovely & smiling the whole time.
- overall excellent , will probably come again if I come back to Montreal
- no reservations was required, i guess for large groups it's better to reserve
