Their eggplant parmesan is one of my favourite meals *anywhere*. The owner, Mario, is always there chatting with newcomers & regulars alike, & you can tell he really cares about your experience.
Very intimate & delicious. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu.
Salumi Vino is one of the best place i have encountered in the Old port of Montréal. Finest italian cusine paired with an imaginable variety of the tastiest wines. The service is impeccable & the owner personally makes sure that you are well taken care of since the minute you walk in. I would highly recommend Salumi Vino to anyone who enjoys a nice meal in a classy ambiance.
We entered the comfortable venue & were warmly greeted by the owner. Not effusive, but sincere. It felt like visiting an old friend's home. The owner mingled with guests without interrupting conversations or being intrusive-a lost art.
I started with a Paper Plane. Given that Quebec is not currently importing bourbon, the owner substituted Crown Royal. It was well made & delicious. We also enjoyed a reasonably priced & enjoyable wine with dinner.
We began with the arancini. It was well prepared, but the tomato sauce was exceptional.
The sauce also supported the ragù I had for dinner. It was obvious the sauce had simmered for a long time. The meat was tender, & the flavours were beautifully integrated.
The other dish was ravioli. Once again, a mushroom sauce was the star of the plate.
This is honest food, thoughtfully prepared by people who genuinely enjoy hospitality. You won't regret going.
Come hungry & stay awhile. Every dish was delicious, the wine was excellent & the atmosphere was perfect.
Was pleasantly surprised. I was expecting overpriced & underwhelming food in a tourist trap spot but the food was excellent, the prices were reasonable, & the service was excellent. Definitely recommend.
Super delicious food 🤤 Got the braised beef stuffed ravioli & omg! To die for; same goes for their chocolate mousse 🤭 great lil place by the old port! I'll be back to try the rest.
They served fettuccine pasta for the'pappardelle' & beef ragu dish. Food was marginal, at best. The server was fantastic. But we come to restaurants for more than good service. I don't know how this place is highly rated - it really should be much closer to 4.0
Our first time in Montreal & came across this fabulous restaurant just along from our hotel. The welcome, the service the delicious food & wine were all 5 star.
