I had such an amazing experience at Salumi Vino. This is honestly the only restaurant I go to for truly authentic Italian cuisine-the quality & flavours are just unmatched. The pasta dishes are absolutely incredible-fresh, rich, & full of flavour. The beef carpaccio was a standout, with perfectly thin slices of filet mignon that just melted in your mouth. For my main, I had the beef short rib, & it was unforgettable. It was so tender it fell right off the bone, & the sauce was completely to die for. On top of the food, the ambiance is always amazing-warm, inviting, & the perfect place to relax & enjoy a great meal. I highly recommend it!
I recently hosted our Department of Plastic Surgery Christmas dinner at Salumi Vino-a group of nearly 50 colleagues-& the experience was nothing short of exceptional. Without a single exception, every person in attendance commented on the warmth, coziness, & intimate atmosphere of the restaurant.
From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with the welcoming spirit & genuine hospitality of Mario, whose presence truly elevates the experience. His passion for the restaurant is palpable, & it sets the tone for an unforgettable evening.
The food was exceptionally authentic, beautifully prepared, & absolutely delicious. The portions were generous, & every dish felt crafted with care. Several guests even remarked that it was the best Italian cuisine they've had in Montreal.

Organizing an event for 50 people can be challenging, yet Salumi Vino made it effortless. The service was smooth, attentive, & genuinely warm.
I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough, whether for an intimate dinner or a large gathering. Salumi Vino delivered a perfect evening & set a new standard for us. We will absolutely be returning.

We booked this restaurant at the last minute because it had good reviews & availability. If you're looking for simple Italian food, this place is great. Nothing fancy or pretentious, but pretty decent. The service was quite slow & the kitchen is very small so be prepared to wait a bit.

Great pace with authentic Italian food. Food is delicious. Cozy atmosphere & the service was great. Great place to take your time & share wine & Italian food.
Amazing restaurant! Very authentic Italian food. We had amazing service & the hosts were super accommodating. The ravioli & mafalde were to die for & beautifully presented. My nieces haven't quit talking about how good it was.
Came to taste an authentic Italian Pasta & it didn't disappoint. One of the best if not the best place to try pasta in Canada. Would comeback again in montreal & visit this place. The owner is really nice & welcoming. Overall 10/10! Food was really great. 🤌🤍

We had a wonderful evening at this Italian restaurant. The welcome was really warm & the staff were lovely from the moment we arrived.
The atmosphere is very friendly with tasteful decor & a cozy feel. The soft lighting creates the perfect setting for dinner as a couple or with friends - you feel comfortable right away.
As for the food, we absolutely loved it! The pasta was perfectly cooked, the sauces were delicious & the portions were generous.
The service was attentive, the servers are friendly & know their menu very well. They give excellent recommendations with genuine care & remain thoughtful throughout the meal.
The value for money is very fair for the quality offered. An address we warmly recommend for spending a lovely time enjoying authentic Italian cuisine.

I don't usually write reviews, but Salumi Vino 100% deserves one. This place is hands-down one of my favourite restaurants in Old Montreal. The food is authentic, comforting Italian-like eating at my mom's or my nonna's-but with a touch of elegance in the way everything is presented.
The restaurant itself is small & cozy, with beautiful rustic walls that make it feel warm & intimate. One of the things I really appreciate is how clean everything is. I'm super picky when it comes to food & cleanliness, & what really impressed me is that the kitchen is completely open-so you can see everything being made right in front of you. It's like a little show, & it proves they're doing things right, from scratch & with care.
The wine selection is also great. Whether you're a wine lover or someone who just wants a nice glass to go with dinner, they've got you covered. & the staff is always so attentive & kind. Having the owner, Mario, come by each table personally just adds a special touch-it really feels like five-star service without the stuffiness.
I've been to Salumi Vino many times now, & I even hosted two family events there, including my small wedding. It was absolutely perfect. The location in Old Montreal makes it even better-amazing for photos & just a beautiful area to be in.
I recommend this place without a doubt. It's a hidden gem that truly feels like home, & the food never disappoints.
Great gem of an Italian food, ravioli & meatballs were very delicious as well as the zucchini mozzarella. Tiramisu was good but not traditional more cream than mascarpone
If you are looking for delicious authentic Italian food in Montreal, this is the place to go! The dining area is small but intimate & the service was attentive. We ordered the fried calamari & arancini for appetizers & the Cavatelli con Provola Affumicato, Ravioli con Manzo, & Gnocchi Tartufati for our entrees. The pasta was all homemade & my sister said the gnocchi was the best she's ever had (& I agree). The sauces were also fresh & full of flavor. The sauce on the raviolis is worthy of a special mention; it was almost gravy like & the mushroom wasn't overpowering. My only complaint is that I didn't save any room for dessert! I will definitely return to this hidden gem the next time I am in Montreal.
Wow, what a discovery! Facts: this is an Italian restaurant; it has an extensive wine list that complements much of the scratch made menu items. Notable differences from "other" Italian restaurants: the menu has a lot of off-the-beaten-path items (zucchini flowers as appetizers) as well as well-thought interpretations that transport you to Italy. The sauces are well simmered, so they develop a rich taste, enhancing the meats, fish or vegetables. We didn't have desserts, but the veal meatballs (with its Parmesan gratin & tomato sauce) & zucchini flowers as appetizers were well received, & the main courses of rapini sausage pasta (a bit oily, though), gnocchi & tuna plates were well executed. Don't forget to ask for bread to capture all the sauces that come with main dishes - it's a shame to waste it!
Very very good Italian restaurant. Good food, good wines choice & good service with attention to details. Mario is the cherry on the top of the cake. Extremely recommended.
