This place was amazing! It had the best food, everything was great, it had friendly service & a local & Portuguese atmosphere. Highly recommend
i stopped in here with a friend, post-Fringe Festival show & we were delighted. we shared a half-chicken platter, & it was delicious & ample. service was friendly & nect time, I'll leave room for a gelato!
Visited from NYC & their peri peri chicken sandwich was the best food I had in Montreal! Also had these loaded fries which were also crazy.
Delicious roast chicken & very friendly service. Available for takeout only, which was perfect for what we were looking for!
the chicken is good but the fries are an ultimate insult to fries. although I've never eaten fries I did not like these are awful. They most probably freeze their uneaten fries & reheat them. Warming them does not help^. so avoid the fries
Good chicken joints seemingly come & go in Montreal. Portugalia has been a long time favourite. Good quality birds & the charcoal grill is just perfect. Steak spice on the fries just works.
Best chicken spot in montreal never disappoints & the fries are great. The staff is also top notch
Im only leaving a 5 star review because Google doesn't offer a 6 star option. We got the steak sandwich & a whole spicy chicken, both of which were incredible. Staff was super friendly & hospitable. Restaurant has a an awesome city vibe.
Excellent friendly service & really delicious food. The chicken was juicy & fresh with nice spices, crispy fresh fries.
Let me tell everyone if you haven’t been here yet you haven’t been at the best chicken restaurant in Montreal. The chicken sandwich is absolutely out of this world. The fries are fried fresh per order. 100% I will be back. The best hands Down chicken sandwich I’ve ever had.
Long overdue review. Great Portuguese resto. Small restaurant, so it is a pick up only joint. Bought the family chicken combo plate that came with fries & salad. The chicken was flavorful, tender & & just plain delicious. Couldn’t go wrong with homemade fries & a nice big salad with a light & tasty dressing. Their hot sauce is phenomenal. The price was reasonable for a family combo. We were two, & had lots of leftovers.
A must for take out & the staff are friendly & amazing. Parking might be a little of a hassle when picking up.
Been waiting a while to write this review because I didn't know what sort of handicap to give my experience - we got the food for take-out, but it took an hour to get to us, & obviously the quality can be affected.
The fries - are a disaster, mealy, limp, & they don't re-heat well. The chorizo was nice, popping skin, fatty, & tasty, though they were quite dry. The chicken was quite good, though I felt it was a massive failure that their 'spicy' version was just caking the chicken in red pepper flake. What made this even worse is that the Pirri Pirri sauce that came on the side was phenomenal. THAT should be the spice. I do feel I might owe this place an in-person visit, to taste the food live, but the first impressions were not that great.
The worst Portuguese restaurant in Montreal. We waited 15 minutes at our table before the waiter came to ask us what we wanted, & then, waited one more hour to get our food. The chicken leg was as small as a chicken wing, the fries were frozen fries, & the rice was...well....tasted like rice but nothing more.
I DO NOT RECOMMANDE AT ALL.
