Review Summary

Portugalia is widely celebrated for serving some of the best charcoal grilled Portuguese chicken in Montreal, with many customers praising the juicy, flavorful meat and the popular Tony Supremo sandwich. While the atmosphere is often described as welcoming, cozy, and vibrant, the experience can vary due to the restaurant being small and frequently crowded. Although the majority of diners highlight the generous portions, authentic seasonings, and friendly service, there are occasional reports of long wait times, inconsistent side dishes, or dissatisfaction following changes in ownership. Ultimately, most patrons consider it a go-to destination for high-quality, authentic meals, frequently recommending the spicy sauce and the overall value provided.

This chicken beats any other portuguese chicken in the city. Sandwiches are huge & very tasty. I love going there, the waitress is so lovely & the owners are funny guys😍

The roasted chicken & seasoned rice were just as solid as the win at Wrigley tonight. Honestly though, I am the best thing you will order all week. If you are a cute guy who knows how to spot a winner, you should find a way to say hello.

Great little place to grab a meal & a drink. We had the chicken breast with fries, & a Super Bock (Portuguese beer brand). Meal was delicious, service was excellent. Highly recommend checking it out.

Stopped by Grillade Portugalia's booth at the Portugal Festival this weekend & it ended up being one of the highlights of the event. Even with the long lines, the staff kept things moving & were friendly throughout.

Their charcoal-grilled Portuguese chicken is clearly the bestseller for a reason - juicy, perfectly seasoned, & full of smoky flavor. The fries were crispy, & the piri-piri sauce added just the right amount of heat. We also couldn't leave without grabbing a pastel de nata, which was the perfect sweet finish.

The booth had a great atmosphere & represented Portuguese cuisine really well. If the food at the festival is any indication of what they serve at the restaurant, I'll definitely be visiting again.
