Excellent service, fresh, seasonal local plates & great wine recommendations. One of my faves in Montreal. Chloe was a delight👌 & made us have a memorable dinner experience.
I've been wanting to visit Rose Ross for a long time, & I was really happy that I finally did it for the Montréal à Table event. The restaurant is beautifully decorated, the full wall of wine bottles adds such a charming atmosphere to the space. It's a small restaurant, but very cozy.
The service was perfect, maybe a bit over-faked at times, but still attentive & friendly. For my starter, I ordered the Choux de Bruxelles salad, & it was amazing. The mix of crispy choux, fresh vegetables, & that citrusy sauce with a hint of pepper created a really nice balance of flavors.
For the main course, I had the filet de truite with vegetables, cooked well, flavorful, & beautifully presented. For dessert, I took the cake aux pêches which was just okay. I was a bit disappointed, as I expected more flavor & a more moist texture. It was also slightly burned on the outside.
Considering it was a special Montréal à Table menu, I found the pricing very reasonable for the quality & atmosphere.
My friend ordered the gros choux dessert, which came with a small $4 extra charge, but it was absolutely worth it. The presentation was beautiful, & the taste was even better.
Like entering a Wes Anderson film with great food & a good wine selection.
Eating at Rose Ross is always a delight: the food is thoughtfully & beautifully prepared, the service warm & impeccable, & the wine pairings totally delicious. Plus, where else can you eat in a dining room made to look like an old-school train dining car?One of my favourite places to eat in the city.
I came here with my boyfriend & his father. Everyone loved the atmosphere & said the food was excellent.
I have a seafood allergy & the server was very careful about informing me which dishes I could have & what changes the kitchen could make to certain plates.
The wine selection was also fabulous! I will come here again sometime soon.
Absolutely lovely experience - excellent service, fresh inventive food, extensive wine list, great intimate atmosphere - really enjoyed our evening. Highly recommend.
Each dish is a delicious creative yet comforting combination of local & seasonal food.
We were a party of 3 who likes sharing plates so we got to taste a good chunk of the menu from appetizers to desserts, & I already know I will have a hard time picking next time since everything was so good.
The atmosphere was pretty nice, I liked the style, but especially appreciated the effort on sound quality (dampening & good speakers), that kept it cozy & not a loud place like so many places.
Service was on point, I could nitpick about the first wine pairing being a bit late, but the waitress made up for it.
What a great experience. Calm, cozy, charming. Excellent service, delicious food & awesome ambience (even in the bathroom!!!)The wine pairing for the menu was perfect! Recommended!

Our hotel made a reservation for us at this off the tourist track restaurant. We split things family style. Appetizers: Fleur de courgette tempura (zucchini blossoms stuffed with ricotta, parmesan, lemon thyme, mushrooms & peppers)-delicious; asparagus with lobster & sauce of (very mild) curry & kefir; & last, & the surprise hit, croquette de canard (duck) confit with goat cheese, dill truffles & a carrots vinaigrette. Plats principaux (mains): half Cornish hen with salsa verde, grilled green onions, cherry tomatoes in chili oil (really an appetizer), scallops with miso butter, maitake mushrooms, cabbage & artichokes (my wife's favorite); & agneau de Kamouraska: braised lamb, it's jus, pistachios, cipollini onions formed into a brick with a side of parsley potatoes (my favorite). Nice wine list but my son & his fiancé had cocktails (also a hit) so my wife had an Alsatian pinot blanc-pinot gris blend & I an above average Côtes du Rhône. Service was slow but the staff (mostly Chloe) were nice. Didn't order dessert since we had gone patisserie surfing earlier.
Nice & cozy restaurant service was awesome 👌 food was great 5 stars but gave it 4 cause portion a little small for the price. But would return !!!! They also have a great wine selection....
Juste wow!!! Nous avons adoré notre repas, la nourriture est sublime & le look du resto vraiment charmant! J'ai beaucoup aimé l'idée du wine paring au demi verre! & que dire de la tarte au caramel salé.... Vous me reverrez! 😅🤤
Another excellent dining experience! Their imports offer incomparable wine pairings. That red wine from Burgundy that accompanied the "Morue"! &, that chocolate mousse !!!!!! ( Going to have to let the exclamations do the talking.) The new "immersive" decor - inspired by VIARAIL? The Rockies? Group of Seven? CBC archives? Expo'67? - definitely made me feel a little nostalgic. Thanks, Rose Ross.

We had a fantastic dinner at Rose Ross! Excellent food & wine in a warm atmosphere with friendly service. Thank you!

Great food & service
Nice & warm welcome
Interesting wine pairing
We tried the fish of the day, the lamb as well as 2 appetizers (escargot & the fleur de courgettes stuffed) everything was delicious!
Thank you
We will be back to taste new autumn menu !

Our favourite restaurant. Great food at a fair price, incredible wine matching, & the best service.

Exceptional
Ambiance, perfect food sophistication & wine pairing!

Wonderful experience! From the "Love & Murder" cocktail, to the 5-course valentines menu & excellent wine pairings, finishing strong with the most decadent Black Forest cake! Love the new decor too - especially the bar (& the cheeky bathrooms).

Lots of fun. We sat in the small area near the kitchen. The food was excellent. The ambiance relaxed but Rose Ross take their food seriously.
Decent wine list. We highly recommend RR.

Imaginative, comforting & delicious food, excellent wine pairings, fantastic people
