Absolutely loved this place! Hands down the best Indian restaurant I've been to in a long time. The dal makhani was unbelievably rich, creamy, & full of flavor - easily the best I've ever had. Every dish tasted authentic & freshly made, & the service was warm & welcoming. Can't wait to come back again!
Amazing Indian fusion spot with bold flavours & beautiful presentation. The lamb ghee roast, Mangalorean shrimp, & chicken biryani were standout dishes - the biryani especially felt like home. Loved the cocktails too, especially Whispers of Veranda, which was super refreshing with a unique pani puri-inspired cocktail flavour. Great ambiance & overall a really memorable dining experience.

I really enjoyed the food here! The service was great, & they were very accommodating for dietary restrictions (I am lactose intolerant & they brought a coconut milk sauce instead if the raita that comes with this dish, removing all dairy as well). The chicken biryani was very tasty, a tiny bit on the spicy side for me (I have very low spice tolerance). I would recommend eating here if you are in Old Port & craving Indian food!
We visited this restaurant recently during our Montreal trip. I strongly recommend this place for authentic Indian food & it was awesome. Paneer Martban is lovely & the bread is also amazing. However, we noticed that the greetings by Manager Mohit should be more welcoming than just directing for seating arrangements.
The food was unbelievable, & we already come from somewhere where there's a lot of great Indian cuisine. The interior was elegant, & wait staff was attentive & polite. 10/10 experience.

High quality Indian restaurant. It's a shame there are so many bad reviews for Valentine's Day, which was obviously just a one off busy, possibly understaffed night. The food here is of absolutely excellent quality. The Mangsher Ghugni was one of the best lamb curries I've ever had, paired with the Chicken Tikka Masala, & the vegetable pilau rice & roti were the perfect accompaniment. Good beer & wine choices & they do really good cocktails too. Highly recommend.
Some of the best Indian food I've had. So much so, that in the week I was in Montreal, I had this place twice. Things I tried that were amazing, in my opinion: Lamb Rogan Josh, butter chicken, lamb vindaloo & the garlic naan. This was a highlight of my first time in Montreal & I would definitely visit again if I'm there again!
Fantastic inventive Indian cuisine. Beautiful ambience in the old port. Very creative drinks & dishes. Our waiter was very helpful & explained some of the dishes we never tried & made recommendations. Highly recommended.

Really enjoyed the food & the fine-dining ambiance. The restaurant is big & well laid out. However, the menu-especially the starters-is limited, & there's no paneer tikka. When we asked for spicy food, they just added a lot of black pepper, which made the dish extremely spicy, but not in the traditional Indian way
Verandah is a beautiful restaurant with an outstanding atmosphere & truly top-notch service. The staff is attentive, polite, & professional, & the ambience is elegant & relaxing-definitely one of the highlights of the experience.
The food is good overall, but it feels more blended & toned down compared to traditional Indian cuisine. The dishes lack the bold, authentic masala flavors one would normally expect from Indian food. If the restaurant advertised itself as Indo-Western or fusion cuisine, this approach would make more sense & set the right expectations.
That said, the quality, presentation, & consistency are still solid, which is why I'd rate the food 4 stars. For atmosphere & service, however, it's an easy 5 stars. A great place for a refined dining experience-especially if you enjoy milder, modern interpretations of Indian flavors.
We visited this Indian restaurant last night & overall had a great experience. The food was delicious , we ordered dal makhni & some breads, which were excellent. The chicken dish was a bit on the spicier side for us, so we couldn't fully enjoy it, but that's more of a personal spice tolerance.
The service was warm, attentive, & genuinely appreciated.
Just a small suggestion for the owner: the downstairs washrooms could use a bit more attention. The garbage bin was full with napkins spilling onto the floor, & the floor was quite wet without a visible wet-floor sign, which could be a slipping hazard. Regular washroom checks would really help.
Being from the same industry, I understand how important these details are. That said, it was still a very positive experience.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5-star rating , we'll definitely be back & will happily spread the word to support the restaurant.

A very pleasant surprise. This restaurant is a gem - service is amazing, polite & warm staff - you feel at home. Food is wonderful - fresh, flavourful & really on a higher level than the usual Indian restaurant you would find in Montreal. The atmosphere is great too, clean place, decor & great neighbord
Beautiful establishment despite some tacky plastic leis hanging all over. The restaurant was completely empty when we arrived (2 other couples showed up later), so we were seated at a front window. Unfortunately our view on this romantic snowy night was a giant pile of black garbage bags. The cocktails were basic, & not great. Tasty naan, but we weren't wowed by the food. We ordered the shrimp entree, palak burrata, rara chicken, veggie rice, & garlic naan. Not the elevated Indian food that we were expecting from the photos viewed online.
