The lamb ghee roast, Mangalorean shrimp, & chicken biryani were standout dishes - the biryani especially felt like home. Loved the cocktails too, especially Whispers of Veranda, which was super refreshing with a unique pani puri-inspired cocktail flavour. Great ambiance & overall a really memorable dining experience.
High quality Indian restaurant. It's a shame there are so many bad reviews for Valentine's Day, which was obviously just a one off busy, possibly understaffed night. The food here is of absolutely excellent quality. The Mangsher Ghugni was one of the best lamb curries I've ever had, paired with the Chicken Tikka Masala, & the vegetable pilau rice & roti were the perfect accompaniment. Good beer & wine choices & they do really good cocktails too. Highly recommend.
Excellent service & food.
Flavours were impeccable. Cocktails were delicious, especially Whispers of Veranda.
Traditional flavours, nothing innovative, but they were perfectly executed.
Our server, Durga Manivannan was polite, knowledgable & had excellent recommendations.
Went for dinner yesterday cocktails were fantastic as suggested by mohit & shubham. The food was also great met the chef abhijay . Thanks for the wonderfull evening.
Beautiful establishment despite some tacky plastic leis hanging all over. The restaurant was completely empty when we arrived (2 other couples showed up later), so we were seated at a front window. Unfortunately our view on this romantic snowy night was a giant pile of black garbage bags. The cocktails were basic, & not great. Tasty naan, but we weren't wowed by the food. We ordered the shrimp entree, palak burrata, rara chicken, veggie rice, & garlic naan. Not the elevated Indian food that we were expecting from the photos viewed online.
Beautiful restaurant with heart touching flavours & my favourite Whispers of Veranda (pani puri cocktail).
If you are in Old Port don't miss this.

Unfortunately my experience here was pretty disappointing from start to finish. The food itself was good & the restaurant is beautiful, but I didn't get to see much of it unfortunately. Maybe it was an off night for them but seemed like they were ill equipped for the busy rush of a Saturday night. I made a reservation for 7:30, it took the host a few minutes to even show up. He told me to wait 5-10 minutes & then disappeared again, while a line of people were waiting. He then proceeded to take other people ahead. He finally took my name & because I was a solo diner, he told me he could accommodate me at the bar. I didn't want to make a fuss & take a table from other diners, so I agreed, although it was not my preference. I got to the bar, but not much accommodating happened. After a while the bar tender asked if I wanted a drink, I wasn't given a cocktail menu so had to wait for that. I waited & waited for someone to take my food order…a waitress even asked if she could take my menu, but nothing. Finally, I asked to place my order, when the waiter/bar tender came to take my order, he walked away mid order. Thankfully the food came quickly because I was ready to leave…but then had to wait & wait again for my check. Not worth the money if this truly is the level of service.
Went there for my birthday dinner with family. Amazing drinks/cocktails, appetizers. Main course dishes are delicious as well, specially paneer martaban. & I have been surprised with complimentary cake by the restaurant . Made my day. Must go in Montreal
From the very first bite, Veranda proves itself to be more than just a restaurant-it's an experience. The artistry of each dish balances refined presentation with the soulful spice of India, creating a harmony that feels both familiar & transporting.
The evening began with a playful starter that looked like art on a plate-crispy shells crowned with yogurt, tamarind, & herbs, each bite bursting with texture & brightness. It set the stage for the mains, where comfort & luxury met in bowls of velvety curries. The butter chicken was as indulgent as it was balanced, while the paneer & dal carried layers of depth & warmth that lingered well past the last bite. Fresh naan, blistered & golden, pulled everything together like the perfect supporting act.
Even the cocktail list tells a story-Whispers of Veranda, a martini kissed with a delicate drop of mint essence, was as refreshing as it was refined. Crafted with care by Zora, a bartender whose talent & warmth elevate the entire bar experience, it felt like the perfect expression of the restaurant itself.
Hospitality here deserves its own applause. Manager Mohit leads with genuine warmth & attentiveness, ensuring every guest feels not only welcomed but truly cared for. Together with the team, he creates an atmosphere that is as memorable as the food itself.
The experience is as much about ambiance as it is about flavor-flowers on the bar, attentive service, & plates presented with elegance that invite you to slow down & savor.
In short: Veranda is a place where tradition & innovation sit side by side, each dish & drink a quiet celebration of culture, craft, & care.
I had the chance to visit Veranda, the new Indian restaurant in Old Port, & it's a true gem. The space is stunning - it has the same upscale feel as any steak house but with its own charm & personality. The menu offers a wide range of Indian dishes, all full of authentic flavor & beautifully presented. Everything we tried tasted fresh & well-balanced, not overly heavy like some places.
The bar is impressive, with a huge selection of drinks that make it just as much a place to enjoy a cocktail as it is to enjoy a meal. The staff were warm, attentive, & made the whole experience even better.
What stood out most to me is the versatility of the space. For a dating couple, the cozy yet elegant atmosphere makes it perfect for a romantic night out. & for larger gatherings, the massive backyard is an unexpected surprise in Old Port-it feels tailor-made for weddings or big celebrations.
The food & service was amazing. Ana, our server, was accomodating & very cool. The salt lassi was made perfect as was the cocktails & food we ate.
Absolutely outstanding. We learned that this restaurant just opened a few months ago. & oh wow. The food was outstanding. The naan was probably one of the best we have ever had (& we love indian food!)
I have no doubt that this restaurant will be a success!
Our waitress Jaina was very attentive.
Because we were sitting right next to the speakers, the music was a bit loud, making it hard to place our order.. but she immediately
Asked the DJ to turn it down a bit., & we had a pleasant evening.
My husband ordered chicken Tikka masala, my daughter Butter Chicken , & i had Dahl Makhani per her recommendation.
My daughter also had this beautiful pink lady cocktail.
The flavors were spot on!
So glad we had dinner here tonight!!!!
We might have to come back before our vacation is over.
This place was amazing - unbelievable flavors on chicken tikka masala & butter chicken, & even the naan bread was out of this world. Jaina was super helpful & friendly! Cocktails were also delicious. Highly recommended!
We were genuinely impressed with this spot. The interior was beautifully designed, spacious, elegant. Loved the outdoor veranda, easy for large parties or private events.
The food was bomb. Malai chicken, palak with burrata, cocktails, daal makhani were all spot on. Definitely repeatable
Absolutely amazing. We learned about this place when we stopped in one night - my friend's daughter had been stung & the bartender provided help with a first aid kit. So very kind. My husband & I returned for our last meal in Montreal - we ordered the Butter Chicken & the Rara Chicken. The server warned us about the bones in the latter & lowered the spice level. The dishes were incredible, layered with flavour. This is the best Indian food I've ever tasted. We sat in the courtyard out thr back of the restaurant - it was quiet, peaceful & beautiful, with ivy climbing stone walls. Chirog, another bartender, crafted us a cocktail by listening to what we liked - it was delicious & he listed the name we gave it, Chirog's sunshine, on the bill. This is a new restaurant & no doubt will be successful given the service, location & food.
very good curries, our waiter was very attentive (didn't catch his name, but he mentioned he is a student studying engineering) & introduced us to great dishes & cocktails.
So good!! Loved the Paani Puri & the chicken appetizer. The cocktails were so good. Top notch. Definitely recommend!! We went there for appetizers after having dinner somewhere else but we were still hungry! Loved it so much, we came back for dinner the next day
